Gryffindor Pride Try-Out

Hilary was very happy with how well everyone had done, even though she saw that there was very high competition for the seeker spot. When Bruin let them off the hook Hilary smiled and then turned to Bruin. She thought she'd give him a bit of an explanation for her late tryout. "Hey Capt'n sorry I was so late in the game trying out, I've just been having problems getting my head on straight today..... but it was good to be on the pitch again" She gave him a warm smile unsure whether she had even made sense.

Andy decided not to stick around much longer once the try-outs were done, she picked up her beaters bat hoping that she would get a chance to use it at some point. She politely said goodbye to the others before slinging her broom over her shoulder and heading back to the castle.

Kat watched as everyone else finished their try-out in silence. There was definitely a good bit of new talent for the team this year and that was a bright spot in the day. Bruin dismissed them to go and Kat pulled off her sneakers and put her flip flops back on, grabbing her broom and she headed back up to the castle.

Bruin watched as Andy and Kat made their hasty retreats and shrugged his shoulders. Thanks for the help putting everything away! He thought to himself as Hilary made her way over and spoke.

"Well if that's what you've got when your head isn't on straight, then I'm not worried in the slightest!" He replied, his usual friendly grin returning as he summoned the dummies down to him so he could pack them away.

Kiera watched Kat and Andy leave in a rush. Where's the fire? she wondered curiously. Kiera was not about to head back up to the castle. It was too pretty outside to waste the day indoors. She wanted to head back up in the air but it was still littered with try out objects. Kiera made her way over to Bruin. "Hey Bru. I was going to head back into the air. Do you want help cleaning everything up first?" she asked not really wanting to have to put up with the objects attacking her once she was up there.

"Sure, that would be nice. Excellent try-out by the way...so what's new with you these days?" He said with a quick smile.

Hilary felt a lot better when she heard Bruin's reply. He was always such a nice person and friend that Hilary couldn't help but look up to him. She said "Thanks Bruin, means a lot to me" probably a little quieter than she usually would have but there were other people around and it didn't seem like the thing you shout out.

When she saw the others get ready to put the stuff away, Hilary took the snitch that was still in her hand and put it back into its box. Next she pulled out her wand and decided to have a little bit of fun. Gently she pointed her wand at the dummy Bruin was magic-ing and mumbled the locomotion spell quietly. She let it follow its original path a little and then flicked her wrist so it started flying in the other direction instead.

Cyndi watched as the tryouts ended and everyone began to either leave or clean up. She stood and began to gather up tennis balls from the ground nearest her. As she did so, Cyndi watched as Bruin began to put away the practice dummy and saw that it was not following his designated path. Cyndi giggled as it went flying away from him instead of toward him.

Pretty soon, well sooner than Taylor had expected. Try-outs were being wrapped up and a few people left the pitch. Taylor held her Nimbus 2001 firmly in her grasp, as she too left the pitch, about to offer to help pack things up, but there were a few of the olders students already doing so. Taylor would admit she felt a little out of place, but hopefully that would change. She wished she at least had one other person she knew, but she supposed she hadnt done too bad in her try-out and that was all that mattered. She knew she could improve and planned on proving that fact.

Kiera smiled brightly at Bruin. "Thank you." she said taking his compliment. "Nothing really. Trying to keep up in class." she said making a face.
"What about you?" she asked as she pulled out her wand. She began trying to summon the balls to her.

Bruin watched as one of the dummies suddenly veered off course and shrugged his shoulders. Hmm, guess the charm I had on that one is still active or something. He was thankful to Hilary, Cyndi and Kiera for helping him tidy up and gave Taylor a friendly wave as she left the pitch, thinking that she had flown very well for someone so young.

Bruin then turned back to Kiera. "Aw, not much really...trying to keep on top of my classes as well, doing a little soul-searching about what I want to do next year...seventh year kind of sucks, to be honest." Bruin had started to feel a little nostalgic about HNZ and knew that leaving this place and people like Kiera and the rest of his teammates wasn't going to be enjoyable.

Kiera nodded her head, understanding what Bruin was feeling. She was not eager to see the year come to a close. Bruin and Cyndi would be leaving Gryffindor. Kiera smiled sadly at Bruin. She doubted she would see him much if at all after the Head boy graduated.

"Do you have any idea about what your going to do when you graduate?" she asked him in wonder.

Bruin noticed Kiera's expression. He didn't like it when people he cared about looked sad, especially when it might have something to do with him and opted to hide behind his sense of humour. "Wow, if I had a galleon for every time I've been asked or thought about that question lately... well, I'd have enough money to buy another case of butterbeer anyways!" He joked lamely before at least attempting to offer a proper answer.

"Actually, to be honest, I haven't got the slightest clue what to do. I think I'll probably head home for a little bit and then, who knows, maybe try a bit of traveling or something. I've looked through all the stupid career brochures and there isn't much that really strikes me as well, me. Got any suggestions?" He asked hopefully.
