Gryffindor Pride First Practice

"Alright" Andy smiled as she flew up behind Kiera keeping formation easily and waiting for her signal to start the game play she had told them. Andy was excited about how this would go and hoped that they really would give Mike a run for his money now.

Bruin was about to call the team in when Mike managed to deflect away Kat's shot, but noticed that the three Chasers had regrouped and appeared to be discussing strategy. He was interested to see what they came up with and simply sat back on the grass with a smile on his face. Bruin wondered if the other team members would resent him sitting here while they all flew, but hoped they would understand that he needed to look at things from a different perspective these days and he couldn't watch them all while flying around and dodging bludgers and such.

Mike hovered on his broom, circling his posts. "Come on Ladies. I thought this was a quidditch training session. Not a girl's gossip meeting" Mike commented suppressing a cheeky smile. He watched as it seemed they were discussing something. He waited for them and, watched as Keira moved. "Finally!" Mike mused. He readied himself for whatever they were going to bring. Whatever it was, it seemed that he would need to keep his concentration about him. He stretched his arms, making sure they were as flexible as they could be. He breathed in and out before bracing himself. Here goes Mike said to himself.

Andromeda flew on behind Kiera and smiled as she passed her the quaffle. She caught it easier than she thought she would and held it tight under her arm as she leaned low and flew on towards Mike. Just as it seemed she would continue straight on Andromeda dibbed into a barrel roll, a technique that Kiera herself had taught her back in first year. Half way through the roll she dropped the quaffle to Kat, so fast as for the motion to be virtually unnoticeable. As she came out of the barrel roll her arm was tucked up once more as if she still held the quaffle in her grasp, she pushed on towards the hoops.

Kat was flowing at a nice pace a few feet below Andy, really hoping that this plan would work. Andy barrel rolled and if Kat didn't know what it was she was waiting for she would have missed the quaffle completely. In one swift almost unnoticeable movement she had caught the quaffle and then passed it to Kiera. Someone would have been practically had to watch the play in slow motion to have caught every bit of what was going on.

Kiera grinned as her two roommates and friends pulled off their part of the plan perfectly. If Kiera hadnt know better, she wouldnt even have notice the quick exchanging of the Quaffle. Kiera plucked the ball from the air that Kat had beautifully passed her. Kiera flipped her broom completely forward in a circle. As she came forward, she launched the ball to the far left hoop. It was a rapid fire motion. The forward flip move had given Kiera triple the strength and power she normally had. She smirked as she released the Quaffle. It was speeding toward the hoop. Even if Mike could get to it in time, which was unlikely with the momentum the ball had, it would probably hurt his arm to stop it.

"Bloody hell!" Bruin muttered to himself as he watched the three chasers execute a phenomenal play including barrel rolls, deception, precision passing, and a flip assisted Quaffle launch. He began racking his brain for a name worthy of the play so that he could enter it in the Gryffindor playbook. With creativity and flying skill like that, the other houses would simply have to sit back in awe of what Gryffindor was capable of doing on the pitch. Bruin clapped his hands together once and smiled widely as the Quaffle hurtled towards the goal. If Mike was anything like him, he would simply admire the play and save his arm.

Mike watched as they fluently made their play.Mike watched as Andy did a barrel roll and Mike noticed her resurface without the quaffle. His eyes darted towards Kat who had caught it, before his eyes got to it. It was then quickly passed to Keira as quickly as it had been passed to Kat. It was all a blur. The quaffle to Mike, seemed like a a red dot. He then noticed that Keira had released the quaffle into his right hoop. Mike admired the speed it was coming to him. Oh crap Mike said outloud and quickly made a tumbling dive to his right. He missed the ball by a matter of inches, but was half glad he didn't get to it on time. The speed it was travelling it at, would surely of done some damage to his fingers. The quaffle went in with a clink and dropped rapidly to the floor. Mike hovered there speechless. "Whoa!" was all Mike had managed. He was impressed by their state of play, the fluency in which the ball had travelled. Mike looked onto them. Normally he would have been annoyed that he didn't save it. But there was something different. Mike started to clap.

Andy pulled up hard on her broom to watch the others execute their part of the plan. It was smooth and effortless or at least the way the girls did it anyhow. She smiled broadly as Kat passed it to Kiera who with some of her mad skillz threw it at some speed into the left hoop. On tender hooks she hovered waiting to see whether Mike saved it or not but he was no match for the intensity of that shot. She punched the air as the quaffle sped its way through.
"Yay! way to go " the adrenaline seemed to be coursing through her from the sheer thrill of the play.

"Nice attempt anyway Mike" she laughed knowing they had succeeded in warming him up no end as he clapped for the success of their play. She smiled at her fellow chasers and once again couldn't help but feel proud to now be able to call herself one.

Bruin decided to let the Chasers enjoy their celebration for a moment, they certainly deserved it after all, before calling the group together. He didn't think any less of Mike as a Keeper either, he had tracked the movement of the Quaffle well and it wasn't likely in a game situation that Gryffindor would allow three Chasers to barrel down on him uncontested. Bruin placed his wand to his throat and cast Sonorus! to amplify his voice so that he could let them all know that practice was coming to a close.

Bruin then summoned the Bludger and Snitch and went about securing them in their trunk as the others flew down to join him. It had been an excellent practice and Bruin was hopeful that the others were as encouraged as he was about the upcoming season. The only things left to do now were to see if anyone had any questions, figure out a reasonable practice schedule, and finalize the dates for their matches with the other houses.

Cyndi watched in awe what was going on over on the other side of the field with the Chasers and Mike. She was so into it that it was a miracle the bludger didn't hit her. Watching as the girls scored a goal on Mike, Cyndi knew that with these three girls as Chasers, there would be nothing to hold Gryffindor back.

Afterward, Cyndi heard Bruin call practice to a close and she turned back to Kida. "You did really well today!" she said excitedly toward their newest Beater. She turned her broom toward the ground and sped down to meet up with everyone else by Bruin. Cyndi was excited about the team's prospects of winning this season and couldn't wait to find out the actual game times.

Kida watched the other end of the feild play for a bit before she heard Bruin call Practice to an end, She smiled when Cyndi said she did well and couldn't help but respond "I had a great Teacher" she smiled as she turned her broom around and headed for the ground.
Kida jumped off her broom close to the ground and walked over to the group of people

A big goofy grin spread widely across Kat's face as the quaffle soared straight through the hoop. She felt a great sense of accomplishment and was super excited to get to be playing chaser next to Andy and Kiera, having an idea that the three of them together would be absolutely unstoppable on the pitch. Bruin called them down from the air so Kat landed lightly and dismounted from her broom, but as soon as she did her legs started getting very shaky very nearly giving out from under her for the second time today. Quickly Kat sat down before she could fall, hoping desperately that everyone would chalk up the display to her normal klutziness.

Andy turned as the voice of her captain in more ways than one called them to order. She hovered for a moment composing herself before flying down to be anywhere close to him. There was no way she wanted the rest of the team see how she fawned over him. As she flew down she chanted in her head over and over 'do not look at him, do not look at him' but of course the more she said it, the more she looked. Finally getting within dismounting distance, Andy swung lightly off her broom and grasped it in her palm turning to smile at Kat, to keep herself distracted she couldn't help but notice her wobble a bit. Sitting down almost instantly.

Andy had begun to notice subtle little things like this happening way too frequently regarding her best friend and though she had promised herself to simply keep an eye on Kat, she couldn't help now to be more than a bit worried. This was more than just over studying, it was as if Andy were seeing her friend through new eyes. Was it her imagination or did Kat look thinner and positively exhausted. Andy walked over and sat down on the grass beside her.
"At least it's not as damp as earlier" which was true, the drizzle had stopped and the sun had peaked out. Though the grass was still damp it really wasn't as bad as before their practise session. Andy nudged her with a smile.
"We rocked up there" she grinned, her hand reached up and touched the bear pendant that she wore beneath her top. It always had a warm comforting sensation and Andy had actually felt since she wore it as if the soul that had once been cursed and damned, had been given a new lease of life. She smiled gently, her gaze turning to Bruin. He was so unbelievably handsome and everything she could ever hope for in any boy. A small sigh escaped her as she waited for him to address them all.

Bruin waited for the others to slowly gather on the grass and allowed a smile fo satisfaction to creep across his face. "Well, I couldn't have imagined a better first practice. You all looked amazing out there and I'm sure with a couple more practices, maybe a scrimmage or two, that we'll be ready to take on anyone. I'm going to be checking with the other captains and the Headmistress about the schedule, but I suspect we will have our first game a couple weeks into second term so make sure you keep flying whenever you get a chance and to do well on your exams. Let me know if you have any suggestions on things you want to work on and I'll post the practice and game schedule on the bulletin board, alright?"

Bruin knew that he should give them more of an opportunity to talk, but he was in a bit of a hurry today. He actually had to head into Obsidian Harbour to meet up with his old employer at Gladrags who had set him up with a suit for the Yule Ball and needed to be fitted. Bruin checked his watch and and frowned. "Sorry guys, I've got to run now, but I'll catch up with you all at dinner." With that said, Bruin fired the equipment into the storage shed and headed off to make his appointment.

(OOC-sorry for the abrupt post, but I'm away for a couple days and figured this needs to be wrapped up. Feel free to RP away to your hearts content. Great practive btw!!!)
