Andromeda walked slowly out on to the pitch and smiled as she looked about. It was empty, not a single soul about and why would there be. There was a strong mist lingering about the grounds, rain drizzled heavily and it was bitterly cold. She was well wrapped up but even so, this early in the morning Andromeda should have been snuggled up in her bed but the will to fly had overcome her. She couldn't help it, Andy had always believed that she was born to fly and as she couldn't all vacation long, she was certainly going to do so now.

The fact that she had been made co. captain had made her totally excited since she got back. It had been unexpected but delirious. She literally had been walking on air since the news. Holding out her broom she straddled it and kicked off. She wasn't in any rush to speed about like a lunatic, Andy was intent on savoring every single sensation and moment.

Blake had wrapped himself in his cloak, stepping out onto the pitch with is Emerald Streak in one hand. He was still bitter about Lily, but he was beginning to make a recovery thanks to the conversation he had with Helena the other day. She was a nice girl, and he rather enjoyed that she counted him as a friend.
Chace was back too, which Blake was more than thrilled about. He had missed his good friend when he had left the school, but his return could not have been better planned. Still, Blake did have to admit that the thought of Lily still left him wincing with pain as the ache in his chest started up again. He missed her so much, especially now that they were back at school.

Quidditch. That was the other love of Blake's life. He had given up his captaincy the previous year for his studies, and though his intentions were good, he regretted it sorely. Watching Slytherin come last in Quidditch last year had made Blake so furious, he had avoided the common room altogether. But now that he needed to occupy himself with whatever could keep Lily off his mind, Quidditch seemed like just the thing.
As Blake stopped near the Southern end of the pitch, a flying figure ahead caught his eye. From far away he could tell it was a girl, and at first, Blake felt his palms begin sweating, praying that it was not Lily. But as he caught a better view of the girl, Blake recognised her Andromeda; the girl who had blown off at Kale two years back over a misunderstanding with Lily. He remembered her also as one of the prefects. Smiling, Blake mounted his Streak and kicked off into the air.
"Hey there!" he called to Andy. "Fancy seeing you here with this fine weather."

It was just as well she had wore her warm quidditch robe, flying in this abysmal weather was crazy at the best of times. She could feel the cold eating away at her hands though, typical that she had forgotten her gloves. A voice carried along side her and turning to see what other fool would try to fly on a morning as this Andy smiled as she saw it was Blake. Lily's boyfriend, she had never talked to him of course but knew she had some serious grovelling to do still considering the upset she had caused the year before in their relationship with her outburst.

"Hey Blake, every weather is fine weather for flying" she grinned, still taking her time about the pitch though knowing that now after close to thirty minutes of being out here in the biting cold she should really land and warm up or something. It wouldn't do for her to end up missing classes this year of all years because of some stupid cold.

"So what brings you out here today?" she figured he might have arranged to meet Lily and smiled knowingly, "hot date?"

Blake grimaced slightly as Andy inquired whether he was meeting Lily, he suspected. But he quickly concealed the look with a small smile. "Actually, I was just trying to get back in shape for the Quidditch season this year. And you are quite right, considering Quidditch is played during rain or sunshine."
He skipped quickly over the topic of 'hot date' and hoped that Andy would not pick up on it and press for further details. Blake liked that word of his and Lily's break up had not reached Andy, as he was tired of the pity he received from almost everyone these days.
"So I take it you'll be playing this season?" he asked, curious of the competition he would be up against.

Andy laughed glad he was in agreement about overall flying conditions.
"Hang on I see what you're up to" swerving her broom around so she was facing in his direction she squinted her eyes slightly, "You're scoping out the competition!"
she laughed again pretending to slide off her broom but balancing herself just in time.
"Well you've nothing to worry about from us wee Gryffindors sure we can barely fly".

Andy was utterly glad Blake was dating one of her friends, the compulsion to flirt with him was wickedly strong. The guy was just downright gorgeous but she knew which boys were out of bounds and who weren't and there was no way Andy would do that to any of her friends. No matter how destructive she was to herself.
With a slight barrel roll away to the left of him that was executed with precision Andy pulled up the handle of her broom and began to climb steadily.
"I'm the Co. Captain and chaser Blake. I play every season" she smiled before cutting her broom through the bracing wind.

Blake chuckled. "Competition? What competition," he scoffed comically. He probably should be considering he was determined to win Slytherin the house cup this year. But truth was that he wasn't. He just needed to step his own game up. Blake continued to chuckle at Andy, and it felt nice to truly laugh.
Smiling, Blake whistled as Andy informed him that she was one of the co-captains for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. "Well, congratulations. I daresay you are quite the flyer, as far as I have seen."
Blake followed Andy as she flew, trying to keep to her side. It was a good morning for rough riding, and that was what Blake was looking for. "So are you out here for the same reason I am?" Blake asked conversationally. "Or are you just enjoying the wondrous weather?" he teased.

Andy pretended to be insulted by his words but could only manage to smile.
"We beat the crap out of Slytherin last year... wait a minute every other house did too, so you're right there. What competition?" she pushed forward on her broom. He wasn't that far back only about a brooms width of a distance she had put between them. Grinning she held out an upturned hand catching drops of rain before looking back at him again.

"I'm always here for the weather, what did you have in mind?" Andy circled her broom so that she was flying alongside him again but moving backwards. It was a trick the boys had been teaching her all vacation long to perfect.
"You want to take me on Blake? Bigger guys have tried and failed" it was her turn to tease now and Andy couldn't believe that there was even the slightest hint of flirting in there. She knew she better pull that back fast, Lily would chew her up and spit her out and faster than Andy could toss a quaffle.

Blake laughed louder, his voice barely carrying as the wind rushed past him. "Touché!" Andy had him there; Slytherin had truly sucked in Quidditch last year. Something he felt he was to blame for, though he knew better than to voice his vanity.
Blake grinned as Andy swerved, flying in time with him backwards. Impressive, he thought. "Be careful now. Didn't you ever learn not to underestimate the opposition?" With a mock salute, Blake spun his broom a full 180 degrees over Andy, keeping his speed constant as they flew, his face only a few inches away from her's. "I have tricks too."
Cackling, Blake did another 180 so that he was on Andy's other side, short hair wet and plastered back by the wind. With a large smile, Blake leaned over on his broom and tapped Andy's arm. "Guess that means you're it." With that, Blake dove for the ground, pulling his broom up just in time before he was scheduled to hit the bottom. Edging his broom forward, Blake pulled up fast feeling the pursuit on his heels. The caught hard on his face as he gained speed, and suddenly, Blake had wished he'd thought to wear his goggles.

Andy admired how he took her slagging of his houses loss on the chin, she knew that Andrew perhaps would not have been so gracious. Unable to stop the laughter from rising she watched as he flipped over her on his broom, she turned her head to look up at him.
"I never underestimate my opposition Blake" though clearly she was underestimating him. His face so close to hers she only had to breath gently and she could almost taste the scent of him. She gulped a bit nervously, no wonder Lily had bagged the guy, "I tend to learn all I can about my opposition first. Then go for the kill" she chuckled as he did another flip bringing himself down beside her now.

"Sweet trick" she barely had the words out when he touched her arm tagging her before flying off. Andy's mouth hung open. Incredible! She laughed before swerving her broom around and propelling the streak after him, felt elated at the chase. There was nothing more exhilarating than this, all they were short was a quaffle or a few bludgers. The wind whipped her and the flecks of rain smeared her goggles but she didn't mind, it felt down right glorious. She was catching up fast, really fast. She loved rushing at the ground as if she were going to hit it but had never actually pursued someone this way before. The thought alone made her smile, she'd be sure to let Lily know she was only pursuing Blake in the name of flying fun and nothing more, no matter how drop dead gorgeous the guy was.

She pulled up just before he did, so she could level off faster and leaning considerable low over her broom powered on after him, reaching out a long arm until she was side by side and could touch him.
"Who's it now?" she laughed before flying on, speeding her way down to the north end hoops, up past the Gryffindor stands and around them. She rocketed on swooping past the Slytherin stands glancing behind her quickly to see if there was any sign of him.

"Damn," Blake cursed as Andy tagged him and flew past him toward the North side of the pitch. She was pretty fast, but then again, she had the luxury of unhindered sight, unlike Blake who had resorted to squinting against the biting wind and piercing rain. Leaning forward more on his broom, Blake guided himself forward faster, turning to round the stands as he chased after Andy. She was tough, and he found himself pushing harder to catch up to her. But as soon as he had gotten the hang of it, remaining control of his broom and speed, he found that it was getting easier with the passing of time. Rounding the Slytherin stands, Blake smirked as he emerged next to Andy just as she turned to look behind her.
"Expecting someone?" Blake teased, raucous laughter escaping his lips as he glanced at her from the side.

Andy laughed uproarously as Blake seemed to just magically appear beside her with another smart quip. She was about to reply but her answer was drowned out by the loud rumbling of thunder. Her head whisked swiftly in the direction it had come only to see the sky off to the south light up with a sudden flash of lightening. Andy was definitely a bit crazy but not stupid crazy. She turned to Blake who like herself was becoming a bit sodden looking, they could race back up to the castle but they mightened actually make it before the worst of the storm hit and it was going to hit.

"We better land Blake" she called to him, turning her broom in a downward roll and taking her time doing so. She landed without any problems and leaping off her broom held fast to it as she looked at Blake.
"We'll have to probably hang out in the equipment shed for a bit until it blows off" she didn't wait for his answer but ran as the drizzle began to turn into biting rain. Yanking open the door of the shed she ran inside and shivered against the dampness of her clothing.

Blake glanced in the direction thunder had rolled, closely followed by the quick flash of lightning that had caused it. The storm was coming, and they were far from the safe confinement of the strong castle walls. Blake nodded at Andy, and bound off after her, landing shortly after and running for cover in the equipment shed nearby. The rain was falling thicker now, and Blake was almost drenched to the bone. Stepping into the shed on Andy's heels, Blake closed the door after them. Pulling his wand out from his robes, Blake pointed it at Andy and cast the drought charm to dry her up before performing it on himself. Still shivering slightly, yet thankfully dry, Blake stepped closer to Andy hoping she wasn't too cold.
"There, that should be better. Are you warming up okay?" he asked, and without waiting for Andy's answer, Blake took her hands into his he began warming them between his own. "I hope this is okay?" he asked cautiously, hoping she didn't mind too much about the contact between them.

She was grateful when Blake came in and as he began to dry their clothing she removed her goggles and rubbed her eyes. Moving her hands it was to see Blake coming closer to her but in the confines of the shed there wasn't a whole lot of places he could go.
"Uh-huh" she nodded afraid to speak or her teeth would chatter, as if sensing she was still cold Blake took her hands in his and began to warm them between his own. Andy could only look at their hands meshed their together, the heat was soon radiating through her for far different reasons and when he asked her if this was ok, she shook her head. Out of bounds was out of bounds. It didn't matter that they were stuck in a shed to hide from a thunder storm, he was with Lily and she was a friend. Andy just didn't do that, though temptation was creeping fast as he continued to hold her hands.

Pulling them from his she moved just a step backwards, trying to keep control of her equilibrium. Blushing slightly she waved a finger at the door.
"That sounds pretty bad now doesn't it? Bet Lily is worried about where you are?"

Blake pressed his lips into a hard line when Andy mentioned Lily. Stepping back to lean against the shed wall, Blake shook his head. "Lily's probably off getting cosy with Sumner again," Blake said, fighting back the lump he felt growing in his throat. Deciding to get the answer to her next likely question out of the way, Blake blurted, "We broke up."
Wringing his hands, Blake thought of what it felt like seconds ago to be holding a different set of hands, instead of the ones he had grown so familiar with over the past years. But as soon as he thought of holding Lily's hands, he pushed the thought away. He didn't want to think of her now, or ever again. But the only thing he could think of to do to drive her from his mind was of the unthinkable. Blake was broken hearted, not heartless, and using Andy as a rebound was selfish. Wasn't it?
But as Blake glanced up from his hands, his eyes, adjusted to the dimmed light of the shed, had found Andy in a way he had never seen her before. In that quick second he felt the pull of attraction, after all, he was only a wizard. Sly like the snake he was, Blake pushed himself off the wall and stepped closer to Andy again.
"You're still shivering. Here," he began as he took her hands into his once more. "No protesting, I'm shivering too." And with a grin, Blake bent forward and kissed Andy the way he used to kiss Lily. Only this time, the red haired girl before him drove his past from his mind, and he was entranced in thoughts of nothing but her and the curve of her lips.

Andromeda wasn't sure if she had heard right, Lily was off with Sumner? She really was out of the loop, completely. Was this then the reason why Kat had kissed Chace? It seemed more likely but she didn't know, couldn't be sure. The next words he spoke sent her reeling. Himself and Lily were finished. Was this school simply a breeding ground for dangerous hazardous relationships? It seemed so.
"Oh" she didn't know if she should offer some form of comforting words or what, having never spoken to Blake much before. She watched him looking at his hands and was tempted, so damn very tempted to offer comfort but still she held back.

Until Blake took the decision from her and reason with it. Taking her hands again in his, Andy opened her mouth to protest but he cut through any she may have issued with words of his own and then his mouth. It claimed hers and Andy at first resisted. Wanted to resist convinced still that this seemed all wrong but it wasn't long before the warmth was coursing through her and removing her hands from his she reached up to grab the front of his shirt as she clung to him. Her mouth not fighting anymore but giving in, opening to him drank him in. The kiss was heady and soon she had to pull her mouth roughly from his just to catch her breath. Her amber eyes looked at him almost dazed, her pupils dilated, her breath coming in short rasps.

Her eyes looked first to his eyes and then to his mouth as the thunder now rolled loudly over head, reminding them of why they were shut away inside there. She jumped a little at the unexpected noise turning her head to stare upwards, glad of the distraction as she felt like a moth caught in the flame.

The smell of the dank shed and rain filled the air around them, but there was a pleasantness to it - Andy. It was a new scent, and he found the comfort of it and the person it went with sucked him beneath temptation and what felt like sin. He was surprised that he could still want someone this way when his heart wanted another.
As thunder ripped above the little shed, Blake grinned at Andy's nervousness. "Don't worry," he teased, "I'll protect you." Blake felt dirty flirting, but it provided a good distraction from the pain he had endured for too long now. And he was not ready to go back to his mopping, pathetic self.

Andy turned her head as he spoke to her and could only laugh, her eyes all but lit up as she did so.
"I think you'll find that considering which houses we're in, I'll be the one doing the protecting" she winked at him, at the same time sliding her hands around his waist. This was different wasn't it? This was allowed because he was single now, no ties to anyone as she had. What in the world Lily was thinking giving up Blake was beyond her but it didn't concern her. Not in the slightest, she was simply content to settle in his arms to wait out the storm. There was no tumultous storm within her and she would be kidding herself if she thought there was but with Blake it seemed effortless, easy and right now easy was good.

Blake felt Andy's arm slip around his waist, and in turn his arms folded around her. For once, Blake did not want the storm to passover. At least not this storm, not when he was comfortable where he was. Resting his hand on the small of her back, Blake whispered, "Is this okay?" He did not want to do anything to make Andy feel anything but the way she made him feel. "How about this?" he asked again as he brushed his lips along her cheek in a trail of kisses. Blake felt like the bad guy swooping in on the unsuspecting damsel, and he chuckled to find that he rather enjoyed the pleasures of the flesh when emotions were not called into action. It saved him the grief of doubt, loss and pain. He had learned that much from Lily, and had vowed never again.

Andy laughed and nodded her head slowly.
"Yeah this is ok, this is more than ok" allowing him to kiss her again, Andy simply relaxed into it. This was so much better than all the complicated emotional baggage that relationships usually entailed. They were simply enjoying each other and surely that couldn't be wrong. Not when the two were young, free and single. She had been flirting a fair bit so far this year but like Mike, Blake was slightly different from the others. Refusing to let her thoughts trail to Crispin Andy kissed Blake back, this time she reduced the tempo. Hoping he wouldn't mind so much as her kisses became long and slow, lingering and deep.

As Andy's lips met his, Blake felt his moving with her's in a much slower pace. And it felt better to fall into it and let the seduction devour him on a more subtle yet just as exhilarating level. Running his hands down along the length of Andy's body, he liked how she stood at a taller height than he was used to, his six foot four feeling more comfortable to stand by. Blake smiled as he brought up a hand to cup Andy's left cheek.
"Wow, I guess we managed to warm each other up without even trying," Blake said surprised by the warmth of her cheek in his hand. Drawing his head up to laugh, Blake turned his head back down to Andy and said more seriously now, "Thank you. I needed this..."

Andy gave a tiny shiver as he ran his hand down her spine then slowly brought it up to her cheek. This was nice, exactly what the healer ordered. She smiled at his joke her body feeling languid against his, if she could purr with pleasure she probably would have. When he thanked her she knew it wasn't anything like Ashtons crass thank you, this was genuine. As if they both needed this and were grateful for the bit of repase they had given the other.

"You're welcome " her voice was barely a whisper, "thank you as well and if you ever need this again.. " she grinned up at him, enjoying the lightness they had given each other, "you know where to find me... though I can't promise you I'll be hiding out in sheds waiting."

Blake laughed at Andy's joke, he couldn't remember feeling this good since Lily before Estrella's wedding, and it felt nice to be with someone new for a change he had to admit. "Good thing you gave me a heads up, otherwise I would probably be sitting in this shed waiting on you now."
Listening out for the hard rain, Blake could hear nothing but light drizzling on the roof of the shed. "Sounds like our time is up," Blake said regrettably, his finger lacing around a strand of Andy's long hair. He did not want to step out into the cold once more just to be eaten up by the haunting memory of Lily. This shed with Andy was like a sanctuary in the middle of hell, and he found himself searching desperately for the strength he needed to get on with it already. If the rain cleared and one of the students or, god-forbid, a professor came wandering into the equipment shed, Blake knew they would have a lot more to deal with. This was their secret, and he wanted it to stay that way.

Andy smiled up at him, he was sweet. For a Slytherin he was definitely sweet, good looking and a great kisser to boot. Lily was mad to have broken up with him but Andy didn't know the details and didn't want to know.
"Hmmm nice visual, you alone in the shed waiting for me. Can't wait for the next thunder storm already" she smiled leaning up ever so slowly and placing a tender butterfly kiss on his mouth.

Hearing the change in the rain she knew herself that this stolen moment had to end, it had been lovely but the best things came in little packages didn't they? Why spoil it by dragging it out even more and making more of it than what there was. As if echoing her thoughts Blake voiced his own thoughts about the change in the weather. She reached for her broom and smiled at him once more.

"Ladies and brooms first?" she grinned, her long slender hand touched the thin shirt that covered his chest.

Blake smiled, "Of course." Pushing open the door of the shed, Blake held it open for Andy, giving her room to exit before him. With one last glance in the equipment shed, Blake inhaled deeply and set off after Andy, his Emerald Streak not forgotten in his right hand. This was sure to be the beginning of what Blake felt was the only thing that could make him forget about Lily, whether it was with Andy or not. The only thing Blake was unsure about, was how long he could run away from Lily like this.
