Leigh had been sent home from work early. she had got a date tonight and she had been sent home to get ready. leigh wasn't sure there was much point things had been a little odd between her and steph recently. as though her girlfriend had something on her mind and was hiding something from her. she was a little concerned. she hoped that it wasn't anything bad and that her family was okay. or maybe it was something about their relationship that was coming between them. they didn't argue to much about house duties but maybe they still had moved together too fast or something like that. she hoped that that wasn't what was standing between them. call her selfish, call her clingy but she would rather there be something wrong with stephs family than that.
she had a couple of instructions on what she could and couldn't wear as it was steph organising it. they had a sort of tradition with dates that it was a surprise to the other girl and only the key points were to be communicated, like when she had taken steph ice skating she had said to dress warm. todays directions were easy, if not a little odd. dress nice but don't wear anything on your hands. she showered and then went to her wardrobe digging out a spotty shirt and a pair of pants ready to get dressed. this should fit the bill. she dried her hair with a wave of her wand and dressed. she was exited. they hadn't been on a proper date for a good while and she hoped it would go smoothly. as she waited for steph to appear she realised that whilst it was toasty in the house it was cold out so she went back to the bedroom to get a leather jacket.

Stephanie couldn't have been in a better mood if someone had told her that she'd won a million galleons. She had been waiting for this day for weeks now and she'd tried so very hard to make sure that Leigh wouldn't guess what was up. It had been hard, but she thought she'd done well, because Leigh didn't seem to be suspicious. Though, Leigh could just have been a better actor then she pegged her for, but that couldn't be right, they'd been together for three years, Steph was sure they new almost everything there was to know about each other. Steph didn't have much of a relationship with her siblings these days. She'd gone through a rough patch with them a while back and hadn't really bothered to stay in touch. She saw them every now and then, but they were all off doing their own things, so she didn't really worry about it. She had Leigh these days, she didn't need anyone else.

Leaving work, smiling and waving to her colleagues, all of whom knew what she had planned, Steph headed back to the house. She and Leigh had a sort of tradition and today she'd left instructions for Leigh to dress nice, but not wear anything on her hands. Those instructions had been hard to come up with. Good enough to make sense, but vague enough not to arouse suspicion, at least, she hoped. She walked into the house and called for Leigh when she didn't immediately notice her. "Babe, where you at?" Heading towards the bedroom, Steph smiled at her girlfriend and immediately wrapped her up in a hug from behind. "Are you ready to go? We have quite a bit to do before we get to the end product." She winked, moving away from Leigh and heading out the door. She really hoped that this would go well, because she had been planning it for weeks. She was sure that all her effort would be appreciated, because though they'd never really talked about it, she was sure that it had been in the air between them for a while. "Before we get going, we have to make a stop at the jewellers, I need to pick up that necklace I dropped off last week." And a little something extra, she thought.

Leigh heard someone enter the house. she tok a step towards the door she couldn't help but let a smile creep onto her face. she wasn't sure what would happen in the long term but tonight she was going on a date with her amazing girlfriend. who wouldn't? she went back into the main room and gave her a hug and kiss. "I'm almost ready. just need to put on my watch" she said. most people would think a watch an odd addition to a date outfit but Leigh always wore a watch she sometimes felt naked without its firm weight. many places to go? where are we going? or is it still a spoiler? she asked. wondering where they were going?
when she said that they were going to the jewellers when they were off she shrugged. "sure. you are boss tonight" she said though part of her had to think can't your necklace wait? tonight is our night, i can pick it up tomorrow if it is that important. but she didn't say it and tired not to show it. she put her watch on and fastened it. and picked up her wand. "Okay i'm ready. she said. taking Stephs hand and kissing her cheek.

Steph grinned at Leigh and waited patiently for her to finish getting ready. Nothing was going to ruin their night. She wouldn't allow it. Steph smiled at Leigh, but shook her head and put a finger to her lips when Leigh asked where they were going. "I'm not telling you. Spoilers." She didn't want to ruin the suspense she'd tried to build up over the last month or so. She knew that this was all probably a little weird, but she hoped that Leigh would understand after everything that was about to happen. She had to admit that some of this would annoy her if she was on the other end, but she wanted it to be special and she wasn't as good at surprises as Leigh was. It was one of the many things that Steph loved about her after all. She could almost see the slight irritation on Leigh's face, but only because she knew Leigh and knew that she would want this to be their night. Still, it was their night and she was confident that everything would work out in the end. Leigh was the love of her life, it had to work out.

"You look hot! Like always." She said, entwining her fingers with Leigh's. She headed out the door and smiled. "We'll just quickly head down to the jewellers and then we'll go, okay?" She asked, heading off in that direction. The plan for tonight was to hopefully recreate their first date. Though she didn't want to spill any wine this time. Though the wine had sort of been the thing to bring them together, this skirt was too cute to ruin.

Spoilers was a bit of a catch phrase between Leigh and Steph. She could remember when it had first been used. She had decried a date plan as spoilers. It had been after she had been home to her family in England and spent the evenings watching old episodes of a tv series where there was a character who referred to her memories as spoilers for another persons future. Of course she had had to explain it and it had stuck. Sometimes the spoilers were annoying when you were in the dark. But so much fun when you were the one with the surprise to share. And you couldn't have one without the other.
Leigh smiled when Steph said she looked hot like always. "all aided by the beautiful girl next to me she said as their fingers intertwined and they were ready to go. They headed out of the door and down the street towards the jewellers. She could feel the excitement for the evening to come. When they finally reached the shop they entered letting go of each other's hand as they did so. The lady behind the counter looked a little tired as though she wanted to close up after the day and go home. do you need a hand there[/b] she asked Leigh she smiled. steph here has just come to pick up something she dropped of, a necklace I believe she said quickly hoping that this would be a quick process so the real fun Steph has planned for the evening could start.
