Halloween was April's very favorite feast at Hogwarts, and she eagerly made her way to the Great Hall for the feast. This year, the girl hadn't worked very hard on her costume. She had thrown on a white dress, put some flowers into her hair she had found outside and then put glitter everywhere on herself. Her arms and legs were covered in the stuff, and her dress wasn't very white anymore either. As she walked through the hall, she was unaware of leaving a trail of glitter falling behind her as well as on every surface she touched. Her glittery fingerprints were already on the door and on her own dress, and would probably cover more surfaces when she was done. Happily, she skipped over to the nearest table to get some candy. She hoped she would run into someone she knew, someone she could go explore the spooky tent with.

Norton had to admit that his costume had been rather lazy, but he had just wanted something quick and he'd recently accidentally torn apart the shirt that had been very ravenclaw in his mind, so of course it was the perfect combination. He had his beater bat in his hand as he walked about the hall, sneaking bites of candies and sips of drinks. He was enjoying himself as he always did at these events, since Norton always managed to amuse himself at these events. He had spotted on the ground though, almost the entire way from hufflepuff to the great hall, a small trail of glitter, he hadn't thought too much about it until he saw more within the hall as he was moving around. He spotted the culprit and headed over to the to ask them what costume could possibly require so much glitter. It was as he approached that he realised that the person was April! "APRIL!" he greeted loudly and warmly, "Are you aware that you have a trail of glitter?" he asked, but as he looked at her, he had to assume that she did know this, since it appeared she was positively covered in glitter. He liked the costume, it was very april. It was sort of what he imagined when he thought of her, positively covered in amazing glitter. "Are you a glitter fairy?"

April was busy picking out a few of the best flavors of candy from one of the dishes so she could have the best ones during the entire night. Her dress had pockets, and she slipped the candy pieces into it with a glance around. She jumped as someone shouted her name, but then grinned as she saw Norton. "Norton!" She greeted him in return, giggling. "Are you a Ravenclaw beater? Should I be scared of your bludgers?" She asked him, before frowning at his question. She looked around herself, seeing that she really was spreading glitter around a lot more than she had thought. Considering it for a moment, she shrugged and grinned. "I am now! And it made it easy for you to find me." She said with a small twirl. "I am a fairy, yes! And fairies are glittery." She grinned, leaning closer. "I could hug you and make you a glittery beater." She said with a mischievous grin.

Norton was glad when she seemed happy to see him, he shook his head at her, "They got confiscated by the headmistress, so not today! But next time on the pitch, you hufflepuffs better watch out!" he joked with a small smile, he hadn't even thought of bringing a fake bludger, it seemed like a bit too much effort he wasn't entirely wanting to get into. His costume was last minute and it was put together quickly, so he didn't want to make that more obvious. He wasn't suprised that she hadn't even realised the amount of glitter that was about her and couldn't help but laugh lightly as she noticed it and spun around, getting more glitter everywhere. The hufflepuff hadn't even thought about if fairies were a part of this magical world, maybe they were and maybe they were full of glitter. It would make them pretty neat! he wished he could see one, hopefully they might do it in care of magical creatures. Norton kept his gaze on her, his grin wide and happy as she suggested covering him in glitter with her hug. He seemed to stop to think about it. It would be fun to be glittery and he wanted to get involved. He held his arms open, "Glitter me up!" he said with a hearty laugh, waiting for him to become covered in glitter from a hug from his friend.

April was glad to see Norton play along with her joke, returning it with a joke of his own. At least, she assumed he was joking about the headmistress confiscating bludgers. She didn't think her friend would be unwise enough to actually try bringing bludgers to a party. As a beater, he knew better than most what kind of destruction they could cause. Norton was really one of her best friends, and she was happy to spend some time with him. She kept an eye out for Kauri or Therese too, as it was always nice to hang out with more friends. When Norton accepted her idea of a hug, she didn't stop to think. Laughing, she hugged him tightly, holding on for a moment before letting go. "The most glittery beater ever!" She said with a grin. Excitedly hopping from foot to foot, she held out her hand with some of the candy in it. "Want one?"

Norton smiled as she gave him a hug covering him a fair bit of glitter, it didn't add much to his costume overall, but it was nice, it made him feel fairly good. Plus, any time spent with his friend was time well spent. The boy nodded and took some of the candy, putting it into his mouth, "You want to visit the spooky tent?" he motioned towards it, he'd enjoyed it the first time he'd be in and was sure that he and April could have some fun with it, since surely they could enjoy it together. He didn't even think that perhaps she was with someone at this event or could be possibly waiting for someone, of course not! They were going to have fun that much was certain. "At the very least, if there's a maze we'll find our way out with all the glitter," he added, hoping to persuade her about it if she was a little on the fence about it. He hoped she'd want to do that, maybe they could find more people to go with them! Then it would be all the more fun, maybe if they ran into Gilly Norton could persuade her to come, since he was sure she wasn't having a good time at all.

As April looked at Norton after the hug, she decided it had definitely improved his costume. "You look great! Maybe Quidditch robes should really be glittery!" She said excitedly, trying to picture it. Then she frowned, as she came to a realization. "Wait, no. That would make it very difficult to catch the snitch. I would think I saw it all the time!" She said, shaking her head. The match against Gryffindor was coming up soon, and she felt ready. But maybe it was better not to talk about it now, or she feared they would never stop and forget all about the festivities. Instead, she nodded when Norton asked if she wanted to visit the spooky tent. "Sounds good! I love what they do with the place at Halloween." She said with a grin. "Best party at Hogwarts, right?" She giggled at his comment about the glitter as they made their way to the tent. She spotted Kauri in the distance, but he was talking to some other people. She glanced at Norton. "Are you here with anyone?" She asked him.
