Wendall had spent most of his childhood watching films, specifically horror films because they were definitely the most interesting. He wasn’t really phased anymore about things that other students may have found to be scary, but coming to Hogwarts had been eye opening to say the least. At this school, actual dead people were floating around the school, going about their daily business, whatever that was. Apparently each house had their own ghosts too but Wendall didn’t really know what the point of that was.

It was getting later in the evening when the Hufflepuff was sat in the great hall. Most students had already retired for the evening, but Wendall was still up and using the space to read a little before he returned to his dormitory. Dressed in some simple jeans and a knitted sweater, the first year was distracted by his thoughts when he caught sight of a semi transparent cloud floating in his peripherals. He looked up to see one of the school ghost making its way around the room, and even thought it wasn’t the first time he’d seen one, it was still daunting when there was one right there in front of you. Trying not to disturb it, Wendall slid lower, off the bench and tucked himself under the table, where he could turn and peep out to watch as the ghost continued to walk, no, fly around the room. The boys wide brown eyes were stuck watching the figure, wondering if anyone who died in the school would be stuck here forever.

Issac had been one of the few students that had stayed in the great hall. He was doing a crossword book that he had randomly found in his trunk. His mum probably put it there for last-minute packing, he wasn't really sure. He noticed out of the corner of his eye that someone was sliding off their seat and under the table. Curious, he slowly looked at what the person was looking at. It was a ghost. But he didn't know who it was. He looked back at the figure under the table. "Psst... Psst" Issac makes a noise to get the person's attention. "What are you doing?" Issac says in a loud whisper with curiosity.

Poppy was very used to getting lost in her own head. Tonight she had been particularly fixated on sketching in her notebook to notice much of anything this evening. She had picked some flowers from the garden that afternoon and was in the middle of drawing them when she looked up and suddenly realized she was one of the only ones left in the Great Hall. She started to quickly pack up her things to head back to the dormitories when she spotted a first year boy duck under one of the tables.

Poppy raised an eyebrow at that. What was he doing? She thought and looked around to see if he could be hiding from someone as she walked toward the him. She didn't see anyone around except for a ghost and another boy, who also looked to be a first year and noticed the unusual behavior. She eyed the ghost and tried to stay calm, she had grown fairly used to them over time and tried to think of them as unusual friends rather then anything scary. He asked the boy under the table what he was doing and Poppy hovered nearby to hear the answer, her eyes still fixed on the ghost.

Harper had returned to the great hall in search of his Defense Against the Dark Arts book, he didn't want to be caught in class without it. He already paid very little attention, last class. Entering the great hall, he looked around and noticed a couple of first years. Harper decided to sort out whatever it was they were doing after he found his book. He got to the spot at the table he was sitting at and ducked under to look around.

While under the table Harper found his book quickly, then he spotted a Hufflepuff boy under another table, close to where the other students stood. A Gryffindor boy appeared to be talking to him and a ghost hovered nearby. Harper's curiosity spiked and he quickly grabbed his textbook. He hadn't been bothered by the ghosts, he was always a fan of horror stories. Harper walked over to them with an eyebrow raised.

Wendalls eyes were still transfixed on the ghost when he heard someone ask him a question. Without lowering his gaze, the Hufflepuff replied to his curious classmate. “Look,” he pointed a single tiny figure at the ghost, as though it was already obvious what he was looking at. He was mystified by it, and crouching out of its way so he could look at it as it did it’s own thing, he wished he had a camera or something. If that would even work? “You know they don’t move as fast as that in films. They can walk through walls you know but they’re slower, might be because the ones in the films are trying to be scary,” of course these ghosts weren’t really scary, just peculiar to look at. “I wonder how they died,” he mused, imagining different circumstances he could conjure in his pre teen mind.

Issac's gaze goes back to the ghost as the boy under the table talks about ghosts and how they are like in films. "Films have a weird way of showing ghosts then," Issac said, with his voice still in a whisper state, he didn't even know why he was still whispering. Issac closed his crossword book and carried it in his hand as he went closer to the boy and crouched down next to him, not seeing the other two students who were standing near them. "I think it would be interesting to know how the died," Issac says as his gaze is still on the ghost. "It would be a cool investigating mystery," Issac says with a smile. "I'm Issac by the way," Issac says to the boy still not breaking his gaze from the ghost.

Harper noticed the boy point towards the ghost. “Are you talking about ghosts?” He moved and sat the other side of the bench facing the boys. Harper found horror stories and ghosts fascinating. “I find horror interesting. My name is Harper, by the way.”

Poppy watched as the boy under the table pointed up at the ghost and started to talk about horror movies. She didn't like horror movies much but she did love a good ghost story and was interesting in learning more about the ghosts story.

She decided to join the boy under the table, to see if his view was any better, and introduced herself as she slid between the bench and the table, "Ow! I'm Poppy, by the way." she said quietly as she hit her head on the bottom of the table. She rubbed the sore spot on her head as she positioned herself watch the ghost discretely as it hovered around the hall. "Do you think we could ask them how they died? Or do we have to look it up? Do you know they're name?"

Issac noticed that two other students had joined them and smiled at them and then looked back at the floating ghost. "Is this a mystery that we're going to solve together? Because that would be awesome!" Issac said with a smile to the other three students. Issac loved to solve mysteries and he thought this would be an awesome opportunity to do it. And if finding out this mystery with people made it even two times better. "Hmm, those are good questions. Well, we would have to figure out their name first before we would have to look them up." Issac says as he answers the girl's questions as he puts his thought into the answer. He waits for the others thoughts are before he does anything further.
