Eli had been working on what he had been asked to work on since the break. He didn't really know if anything Professor Potter had said was going to make a difference here or not, but he was trying to get her to help him, well, she was already helping him, but he needed to make sure he had this down. He'd been so busy this semester already, with Valentine's coming up and everything seeming to work against him. He sighed as he headed to her office, quickly knocking on her door. "Professor, it's Eli, did you want to get back into it?" He had read everything already, and he was working on trying to... manage his time which wasn't all that easy for the Ravenclaw, but he was giving it a go. Maybe if he got that down he could finally tart thinking about what he needed to do to learn to become an animagus. He knew it wasn't going to be easy, but he was willing to get into it if the Professor was willing and it wasn't really something he was going to have to worry about until a little later probably.​

Lyra sat down her quill as she heard a knock on the door. She carefully folded the note to her daughter, Poppy, before flicking her wand at the door to allow her student into the office. She smiled brightly as she recognized Elijah. "Yes, please do come in. I was just finishing a letter to one of my children." Lyra said as she sealed the envelope. She sat it to the side to be mailed later that evening. "Eli, were you able to finish all of the reading I assigned you?" she asked curiously. While Lyra was not an animagus, she knew the practical part of how to become one.

Eli entered the room as he was allowed to and took a seat in one of the soft chairs at the professor's desk. "Yes, well, I tried to, I wrote down a couple of the questions I had if you don't mind." He had no problem with the reading itself specifically but some of the things in the reading had been a little surprising, like the fact that they didn't choose their animal, they only changed. He wasn't sure how that worked since the whole thing was a spell. What if he turned into a slug or something, that wouldn't have been fun as an animagus and it said that "the essence of who he was" was going to inform the choice, but what did that even mean? Some of this was terribly confusing.​
