Wand
Holly wand, 11" Essence of Phoenix Feather
Kate ran out of her classroom as the lesson finished and ran straight to the dorm. Throwing her bag on her bed,s he heard people coming up the stairs and so grabbed her wand and left the common room. Running blindly in the direction of the owlery, she ran up the steps, tripping on the 72nd but kept on going, blinded by tears that consistently rolled down her cheeks as if she was filling up a stream.

Opening the door and seeing that no one was there she sat down on the stool and wept. How could this happen to her? Why now? What would she do?

Sam had the letter he wrote earlier in History of Magic it was to his uncle. He never wrote to him that much and he regreted it. After Colin being so nice to him. There wasn't much going on in History of Magic to keep him occupied anyway.

As Sam finally got to the top, he never panted anymmore, he got used to them. He walked into the cold, noisey owlery. He saw there a blond girl..crying? Sam walked over to the sitting girl. He realised it was Kate. "K?" he said softly and knelt down to her eye level, "Everything alright?" He knew obviously things weren't alright but he wasn't going to force her to tell him anything.

Kate looked up as Sam approached her and wiped her tears away. She didn't want him here at the moment. Anyone but him. Kate leaked one more tear before she sighed and put on a smile. "I am fine really. Its just tough at the moment." She said, not wanting him to think she was a cry baby or something.

((Kate doesn't mean that she doesn't want him, it is part of the problem. Kate has a crush on Sam! But no one knows so secret me and you!))

Sam put his hand on her shoulder and placed his hand under her chin and pushed her head up slightly. He then removed both of his hands and said "Kate..what is it?" in a soft whisper. Sam looked into her eyes giving her a look which said you can tell me anything.

((Are you joining as well Libby?))
Kate looked into Sam's adorable eyes and looked away again. Why was she torturing herself like this. How would she put it into words for him? Just say: The thing is Sam, i fancy you and you don't know or you are going out with someone so you don't care for me like that? She could never do that. Holding the words away from her mouth she looked back at him and finally decided what to say. "It's really complicated Sam. I don't know how to put it." Everytime she said his name, a warmth spread about her that had never happened before. It made her feel special and wanted again.

Sam sighed, she was obviously having trouble getting the words out. Was it something to do with him? Maybe she didn't trust him enough to tell him.. Thoughts like this raced through Sam's mind. "K? I'll listen. I won't tell a soul..." Sam promised her. "I won't even respond if you don't want me to!" Sam laughed, though he would. If she asked him to, he would. He wiped a cold icy tear of her cheek.

((Sam, i will PM you with my outline to make sure you understand. Can we please hold the actuall part of Kate telling Sam for a few more days? Thanks!))

Kate smiled at Sam and patted the seat next to her. "Sam, don't worry yourself." She said after choosing the right words to say. He was fit, her was funny, he was kind, he was caring, he was gentle, in Kate's eyes, he was perfect. ((Romantic hey! ))

Sighin deeply, she silenced herself with loss of words to say. How would she tell him?

((Sure thats cool))

Sam sat down beside her looking at her with supicsous eyes. He put his arm around her shoulder, friendly, "But if theres anything....anything! Anything I can help you with." Sam paused to look at her, "Or even if you just want to let something out..I'm here." He smiled, though he knew he was awful in those sort of situations. He squeezed her softly.

Sam was glad in a way that Kate had told him what half the problem was. Though he couldn't really help her that much. "Oh..I'm sorry to hear that Kate." Sam said shouting in his head of his whole lameness. But when she said the other part was too hard to put into words, he decided to just drop it. "Well...when you find words..an-and if you want someone to talk to. I'll listen." he said kindly and he hugged her. Kate was like the older sister he never had.

Sam let go of Kate. "Its no problem." he said kindly to her. "You have reason to be upset." he smiled softly and looked out at the many owls fluttering their large wings occaisionaly. Their eyes watching every movement.

Sam nodded, "Yeah its great! I abosoulotely love it here!" He said entusiastically. "I want to thank you...for looking out for me and all. It helped." Sam smiled to her. Kate did help him, she was a kind face he could trust.

Kate smiled at Sam. "Your welcome. I treat you like i would a brother. Libby is also like a sister to me. I have no siblings but have an annoying older cousin who is a month older than me. James Hill. His parents have both died so he is living with us and he is a right old pain but i love him really." She held back the next words which were coming. I love you too. Not just as an imaginary brother. Biting her lip so they didn't come out she asked, "What is your favourite subject then?"

((Who is Sam going out with? I couldn't remeber.))

Sam listened to her explain about her cousin andhe chuckled slightly. Then she asked what his favourite subject was, "Well, Charms and Transfiguration." Sam said satisifed with his answer. He liked them the most. "What about you?"
