Marisol didn't know whether she should go to the Halloween feast tonight because she didn't have Wyatt or Asaiah to hang out with. Since her first year at Hogwarts they had always been by her side no matter what, and now she was feeling like a fish out of water without them. As she showed up to the event alone, she didn't know what to do. How did people do this without a crutch to fall back on? Marisol adjusted the green headband with the fake foliage attached to it and tugged on the hem of her dress. She couldn't think of any costumes so she'd pulled out a short nude colored dress she owned and made the headband so if anyone asked she could say she was a mandrake. Marisol had half a mind to turn around and leave but she'd already committed to dressing up so she would feel worse if she spent the night in her dorm room alone. Either way she'd be alone and miserable, but at least here there were snacks.

Marisol walked towards the snack table, glancing warily at the fake full moon on the enchanted ceiling and shuttered involuntarily, her stomach tensing up at the thought of it affecting her even though it wasn't real. She wondered if Alistair was around and thinking the same thing. Alistair was someone she talked to semi-regularly (obviously once a month) so he was probably her friend, right? The fact that she was considering a fourth year to be her only friend at the castle made Marisol groan internally and she picked up a cookie and bit into it with a frustrated pout.

The fact he was a seventh year still hadn't truly sunk in for Octavian. Everything he did lately felt like the last time and the Halloween feast would be another of those things. The event brought back a lot of memories for the Gryffindor, some good, some bad. As it was his last Halloween feast Octavian decided to revive a classic outfit, one that brought back a lot of good memories for him. Prince Charming would make one final Hogwarts appearance. Some alterations had to be made to the outfit to accommodate some growth in recent years but once that had been done hr was good to go.

His sister was busy as always so Octavian headed into the great hall alone. It wasn't long before he spotted a familiar face and he couldn't help himself considering his choice of outfit. "May I?" He asked as he waljed up behind her. Octavian wondered if she remembered their time together as fondly as he or if her encounters with his sister had tainted her opinion of him.

As Marisol finished her cookie and grabbed a cup of punch to swallow it down with, she heard a vaguely familiar voice from behind her. Marisol turned around and raised her eyebrows when she saw Octavian in the same Prince Charming costume she'd met him in many years ago. She felt like she was experiencing deja vu looking at him in the same costume at the same event. Marisol shook her head and laughed and ignored his question. "Don't you have some fiancee to attend to? Or some sister to cockblock you?" she smirked.

Octavian laughed at Marisol's response and he was glad to be in a position where none of the things she mentioned would be getting in his way. "My fiance is spending the evening with her boyfriend," He laughed. It was such a strange sentence to say out loud but Camelia seemed happy with her Ravenclaw boyfriend so he was leaving her alone. "For that matter so is my sister, no cockblocking tonight," Octavian smirked. Whatever happened between them, it was good to see her. Octavian had always felt he and Marisol had unfinished business. "You look good Mari,"

Marisol raised an eyebrow at the response about his fiancee with some other boyfriend. "You two have a weird relationship," she said, half scoff, half laugh. Camelia had been on the Quidditch team for a few years, and the latina had never quite warmed up to her even though they played the same position because of her relationship with Octavian, even after he and Marisol had long since broken up. Now she was secretly glad the younger girl hadn't re-joined the team and even more glad to hear about her and Octavian apparently not being together, for the time being at least. She laughed more fully this time at the comment about his sister but replied, "Ah, you say that now but the second I step closer to you, she'll sense it and come running to whisk you away." Despite what she said, Marisol stepped closer to him and smiled at his compliment. "Thanks. You're not so bad yourself. Nice costume, feeling nostalgic?" she smirked.

Octavian laughed, it was true he and Camelia did have a strange relationship and he didn't understand why the younger Gryffindor was so hellbent on putting off their relationship when they both knew they had to marry one day but Octavian was glad that it wasn't that day. He smirked as he listened to Marisol's words and yet she stepped closer to him anyway, he stepped closer to her too. "See, we're close enough to touch and my sister is no where to be seen," The last thing he wanted was his sister turning up to ruin what was turning out to be a surprising night. "I wanted to remember a fun night, what ever else came between us we always knew how to have fun together,"

Marisol knew potentially getting involved with Octavian again was a lost cause. No matter what their feelings were, it was just never going to work out. This time she knew that, and surprisingly she was okay with it. It was her last year and without her best friends, she just wanted to have some sort of fun in any way she could. With the way things between her and Asaiah were left, she felt it would be harmless to flirt with Octavian tonight. She laughed at his comment but still seemed unconvinced as she said, "Hmm, the night's not over yet, so we'll see about that," though she sincerely hoped Agrippina would stay away for once. "Let's dance then," Marisol said, taking his hand without waiting for another answer.

Octavian knew getting involved with anyone other than his fiance was a recipe for disaster but that didn't seem to bother Camelia too much so why should it bother him? Being with Marisol was fun and easy and their chemistry was undeniable. It was no surprise they were so easily falling back into old habits. "Any time we get before we're pulled apart again will be worth it," He smiled at her. Octavian laughed at her suggestion to dance and before he could say anything she had taken hold of his hand. Octavian took her over to the dance floor and pulled her closer placing his hand on her wait. "This takes me back," He whispered to her leaning in close.

Marisol laughed and rolled her eyes playfully at his comment. "That's quite a lot to declare," she teased. But she wanted to see if he was right, if it really was worth it to hang out with him despite the warning signs that maybe she shouldn't, so she pulled him onto the dance floor. It was not like she had anything better to do, and thankfully she had always liked hanging out with Octavian before, so she knew she'd have fun. It was odd, dancing with Octavian after years of avoiding him, and now being here as if everything was alright. As he leaned in close to whisper to her and it really did feel like deja vu, as she had expected him to kiss her before she realized that was no longer the case. She smiled at him and nodded, but instead of getting swept up in the nostalgia of it all she tried to steer the conversation elsewhere, to keep him metaphorically at arms length even if physically that wasn't necessarily the case. "So, your fiancee is off with a boyfriend, what about you? Have you been seeing anyone else?" she wondered with simple curiosity.

Octavian couldn't really tell where Marisol's head was at but he was glad to be in pressence again."I've never shyed away from bold statements," He smirked. Being so close to Marisol again he had been tempted to kiss her but they weren't back there, though the night was young and anything could happen between the pair. As Marisol brought the conversation back to Camelia he couldn't help but wonder if she was trying to keep a distance between them. "Nobody since you," He said as they moved together since the music. "I wanted things to work with you but they didn't because the arrangement, after that I didn't see much point, Camelia obviously felt different," He sighed. Octavian wasn't sure how he felt about his fiance but he had accepted there was no backing out.
