It was a bright morning for Hufflepuff, Ai Edogawa. Classes were yet to start and at the moment she has all the time to spend the way she wants it too, which, were of course, allowed within the castle premises. The young girl had to admit that she was having fun at the castle now that she had a few friends within the school. Although, she had to admit that the start of the school year wasn't that nice for her either. In fact, of all her school years, this had to be on the record of the worst start. Recently, she had been seeing her brother lately in the common room, but that just made their situation all the more worse thanks to her beginning to miss Conan a lot. It had been a long time since they spoke to each other and it landed to a fight. Aside from that issue with Conan, she still had her problems with a certain Slytherin named Liam. For the first time in her life, someone made her think that she was useless and like dirt. It was a nasty experience.

Shaking her head to get rid of lingering thoughts, Ai decided that a nice walk would be nice. The young girl quickly got dressed and began to head out of the Hufflepuff Common Room. The young girl decided that a long tiring walk would do just the trick to get rid of nasty memories in her head as she went down the moving staircases of the castle making her way to the North Tower. As soon as she reached the said tower she took a look of the huge amount of stairs that she would climb. She smiled knowing she would be tired in the end but the view up there was totally worth it. The young girl slowly began to jog her way up the tower, not knowing what wonder she might find.

The morning was bright and the sun that was streaming through the windows was getting Taylor Blare's eyes irritated. She sighed and huffed. She was getting tired of the Gryffindor common room. Maybe she could write Lewis, he was training to be a Med student. In fact he would be a second or third year by now. His University Time table was different to how Hogwarts run so she barely got to see him anymore, considering he had decided on using a dorm instead of commuting. She guessed he was just used to it from Orion. She sighed. Did he know about her mother and father yet? Would she be weird for owling him? He was surrounded by muggles after all. Maybe it would be better to write a letter to her Aunt and Uncle and Corey too. He had sang to her and hugged her the entire time she had been crying. It had been hours. She had felt so exhausted after and Corey had carried her to bed. She was greatful for that. He turned ninteen last week. She wasn't even there for his birthday. Yet he was there for hers, but he had been stuck here instead, alone, always thinking about her parents. It was so hard. She didn't understand why it had to be her parents. They were amazing people. Sure they hurt her when no-one was looking, but that wasn't their fault. Taylor blamed the bad people whom had hurt them. The Scitorari or whatever they were called. It was their fault that her parents were dead now and that she would never see them again. She took a deep breath to attempt to calm herself and held onto her head. Her headache was still there. It wouldn't go away and it was getting so much worse. Taylor took a quill and ink off the table and proceeded to write a letter to each of the members of her family. She needed to do this, she needed to know that they still existed, that they weren't hurt. Her Aunt had wanted her to take this year off, or maybe half the year, but Taylor had said no. She didn't want to be at home where she would remember. Being here was easier. There were no memories of her parents here.

Finishing the letters, Taylor rolled them up and headed out of the common room towards the Owlery. She needed this. She wanted this. She had to have this closure, to have this knowledge. She didn't know what was going to happen this year. Quidditch was always a good distraction, but she had to actually make the team first of course. That was the hard part. Taylor had to admit that she didn't believe that she had flown her best that day. It was bad, she knew that, but she was going to have to deal with it whatever the outcome might be. Hopefully it would be in her favour, but if not, she would just have to make the most of it and cheer on her team. She really would like to play again this year though. That much was certainly true. She closed her eyes to try and calm her headache as she approached the North Tower. Soon she would be at the Owlery and all of this would be over. She started up the stairs, massaging her temples. She was a little on the pale side from not going outside as much as she used too, so her tan was less visible.. Her eyes were dark from being tired, but her hair was immaculate. She loved her hair too much to let it get all messy. She got to the top of the steps and was about to continue when she heard some footsteps behind her. It sounded like someone was jogging. Now? She breathed to keep herself calm and turned her head. "I don't freaking believe this." It was Ai Edogawa.

Jogging was surprisingly easily taking it's toll on Ai. It seemed like only yesterday when she could sprint up the tower, but after getting sick last year, she could even bear to jog the whole way up and could only manage jogging halfway up as she huffed and puffed, trying to catch her breath before continuing to climb the flight of stairs leading to the wonderful view offered by the tower. She knew her effort and energy wouldn't be wasted once she reaches the top. And after a few minutes, she reached the top and immediately regretted her decision to come. Right there, was Taylor Blare.

And as soon as Ai saw her, everything went back to the past. Flashbacks. And at that moment she saw everything again, the fight with Conan, Taylor being there, saying things to her, ones that were similar to what her aunts told her. And after she saw it, rage filled Ai's being. "Taylor Blare," she hissed, glaring at the Gryffindor before her. It was bad enough that she had to deal with a few people and now Taylor just had to show up, Ai was already trying to change her attitude but when she sees Taylor she just can't control herself. "I would love to say a pleasure to see you again, but it would be lying... So, still flirting with Conan?" she said, anger showing in her voice

Taylor held her head as she back herself into a wall and sat on one of the chairs that were there. She could not believe this was happening. Why did it have to be Ai. Why couldn't have been some-one else. However when Ai spoke, Taylor's blood boiled. She couldn't believe she had ever tried to be friends with this girl. Ever since she had first met this girl, it was like she just had taken an immediate dislike to her. Taylor met Ai's eyes and stood up again, placing her letters on the seat. She glared at Ai. "Just because I spend more time with your brother lately then you do. Does not mean anything. I would much rather not get into this with you right now." She said as she turned her back on Ai. She had no want, nor a need to fight with her. She knew for a fact that Conan hated them fighting. But there was just something about Ai that rubbed her the wrong way. She looked at the girl over her shoulder."Edogawa. Know this. I don't care what you say to me, but you cannot stop me from being friends with your brother. He's good for me. He helps me and I help him. Particularly now." She said as she walked back to her letters. Something told her however, this was not going to end here.

Ai kept on glaring at Taylor, the Gryffindor meeting her glares with her own. The Hufflepuff was not going to back down this time. No one was there to stop her. She didn't care if she got in trouble with Professor Snow for this once again as long as she could release her wrath on the girl before her. "More time than I do? Heck, he only spends time with you!" Ai nearly screamed, her knuckles white from her fists clenched tight. She wanted to seriously hit something at the moment, but she promised Heath, Kate and her Ryuuji-niisan that she wouldn't be punching any walls anymore. Her hands had already suffered too much, and they deemed it enough. "Get into what, Blare? Still the crying girl you were?" the Hufflepuff mocked remembering how Taylor's crying got her and Conan into the situation they were in now. "More like I can't stop you from seducing my brother," she muttered loud enough for the other girl to hear. Frankly, Ai only had the slightest idea of what she was saying. Words just continuously flowed from her mouth like it was natural because of her anger. "How'd you get him tied around your finger Blare? Spell or potion?" Ai asked in a mocking tune, tilting her head slightly, bringing her acting skills to the test as she brought out a look of pity and curiosity upon her face.

Taylor turned back to Ai as she spoke. Why was she so mad! What had Taylor done! Ai had been the one to start all of this and now she seemed to want to continue it. Taylor just didn't understand it. Was this some stupid Japanese thing? Was that the issue here? Some conceited idea of Japanese pride. She sighed and rubbed her temples as she glared at the girl. She just wasn't going to give this up was she? She seemed to have this crazy notion that Taylor and Conan were together, as in a couple or something?! Why would she think that! They were just friends... weren't they? "I'm not the only person he is friends with you know! You are in the same house for Merlin's sake! Don't tell me you have no time to see him!?" This fight was only serving to aggravate her already troublesome headache. Taylor's head snapped up when she mentioned Taylor crying. Her eyes visibly darkened. She had been crying enough over the past couple of days to warrant some serious dehydration. "Your the one who can't let go of wanten relationships that are probably irreparable." This time her voice was low, only loud enough so that Ai would have to strain to hear. It was true, Taylor thought their relationship was destroyed, but even to her, she had shocked herself by saying that. Ai seemed to bring out the worst in her, every time.

Again Ai was talking about Taylor seducing Conan. Why was she thinking like this? Taylor and Conan hadn't done anything weird! He just comforted her because of her parents... right? She shook her head, what the hell was she thinking any way, her relationship with Conan wasn't like that! "For Merlin's sake Edogawa! I am not seducing your brother! We are just friends! Why would you think other wise!" Was she playing that a little too strongly, goodness even to herself she sounded desperate, like she was protecting a lie. The hell!? Taylor ran her hands through her hair. Her headache was reaching max point, she was in quite a bit of pain, she bit her lip, not quite breaking the skin, but it was painful non-the-less Ai was being so stupid. Potions and Spells!? How would a fourth year even know such magic? "Unlike you Edogawa, I don't need to manipulate people to like me. Conan and I are friends, he likes to hang out with me and I like to hang out with him. We like the same stuff. It happens. Get over your jealous girlfriend routine. It's disgusting!" Taylor paused. She couldn't stop herself from saying the next words. She was just too angry right now. She was angry, in pain and sad. A lethal combination. "You don't even deserve to be called Conan's twin." She said it evenly, softly. When she was in this mood, nothing would stop her.

"Well, you're the one he only spends time with!" Ai shouted in between Taylor's sentences. She didn't care if she was disrupting or being disrespectful, to hell with respect at this time. "I've got all the time Blare! But ever since that pesky time at the Cliffs he's been avoiding me to no end!" she informed Taylor as if blaming the Gryffindor. Ai knew it in herself that it was her fault, but during these times, her mind was in a frenzy and illogical thoughts would come to her mind. She wanted to calm down yet she didn't want to. "Can't let go? Can't let go?! Try having your brother break your bone?! Or even better yet try it with your parents!" she screamed to no end. Ai felt her eyes getting wet, and stingy. Were they tears? No. She didn't want to cry, not now. Not when no one was there to be by her side. "He's the only family I've got and you want me to give up hope just like that?! You're delusional!" she was screaming now, not caring if a professor came by. Heck, even if it was the Headmistress, she wouldn't care.

"I don't know. Maybe it's because people see you together and you hugging my brother!" Ai spat at the Gryffindor. Of course, there were rumors in the Hufflepuff house about Conan and some even had the courage to tease him, but one glare got them to shut their mouths. But Ai knew the rumors, Taylor hugging her brother and Conan hugging her back. Although, Ai fell silent when Taylor compared herself to her. Different thoughts passed by her in a blur and tears were surfacing her eyes. "Was I manipulating Ryuuji-niisan all this time? Was I manipulating Heath? Did I manipulate Kate? It can't be, right?" Luckily, her thoughts were stopped quickly by Taylor's last statement. "Don't deserve? So be it then! Tell him to not consider me as his family! Say it to his face!" Ai dared her. She made the decision, she'll leave once the Holidays come, she'll move out of the Agasa residence. She'll live alone in their old house. "Hell, as if you deserve to be your parents' daughter. You don't deserve them and they don't deserve you! They might as well just leave you alone for all I care!" she screamed for the last time, not caring if her voice leaves her as she wiped away some tears that had escaped her eyes earlier and struggled to stop the rest.

Taylor growled low in her throat. She was getting too close to some truths and Taylor didn't want to deal with it. She held her head tighter and tried to ignore Ai as she spoke, unfortunately the girl's voice was rather sharp and just ripped through her defences. It was unreal what was happening here. She was so adamant on making Ai angry that she was no longer thinking straight. As it seemed, Ai had the same thought as she had. She gritted her teeth clenched her fist. She wasn't sure if she was tearing up out of pain, anger or from the fact that she didn't want to hear what Ai had to say, but either way, this was the worst day ever! "Are you really trying to blame me for your split with Conan! Your pathetic Ai! A pathetic, manipulative little girl! Whose pining away for lost family!" She yelled, biting back tears that were stinging the backs of her eyes. She did not even care what happened any more. She just wanted to get out of here. She made to walk out the door when Ai mentioned her parents. She would dare tarnish the name of my parents! She stormed right up to Ai and slapped her in the face. How dare she even say something like that! "I've had broken bones by them! So don't you dare even try to think that your life is worse then mine! I bet you were able to get your broken bone fixed easily, yes? I live with muggles and a squib! You stupid b!tch!" She called, backing away from Ai slowly and rubbing her neck to try and calm herself.

Taylor could no longer hear what Ai was saying, she was too busy thinking about her parents. She loved them, she did. What was she supposed to do now! Why did this have to happen now? Why not never! She would have gladly given up her magic to he gods to have just one more day with them. She didn't even get to say goodbye! However, there was one thing that Ai said that hit Taylor hard. Her parents should leave her alone! She fell to the floor with tears in her eyes. Covering her face with her hands. "They have! They have left me alone!" She cried as she scrunched her eyes closed. She didn't want to see this anymore. She was tired, exhausted, sick, angry, so many emotions that she couldn't comprehend. Merlin she really needed someone right now.

It was certainly a nice start of the day for Conan Edogawa. His parents' death anniversary were fast approaching and he'll be sending a letter to her aunt and uncle about it. The young boy wanted his parents' tomb to be cleaned and his mom's favorite flowers to be placed. He misses his parents greatly, especially after knowing Taylor's problems. He couldn't bear to see the Gryffindor cry because of it, maybe it was because Ai only cried once in front of him because of their parents' death, but from the looks of it, Taylor had been crying almost everyday and he was very worried. As soon as he finished his letter he got out from his seat and made his way to the common room, glaring at anyone who was pathetic enough to tease the relationship between him and Taylor.

Conan reached the North Tower and from where he was standing, he was hearing echos, it seemed to come from the top of the tower. There was trouble and he knew it as he sprinted his way up the tower and as he came closer and closer to the top, he didn't like what he was hearing. Familiar voices. Way too familiar, and yelling at each other about a subject he didn't like. And as soon as he got to the top, he knew it was too late, his own twin had already screamed something that Taylor should be hearing right now, and was now breaking down crying. He quickly ran towards Taylor without a second thought, pushing Ai out of the way, not caring at all. He quickly checked Taylor for injuries, none it seemed, so he assumed it was Ai who took the hit he had heard whilst climbing. He quickly pulled Taylor into a hug, stroking her hair. "Shhh.. I'm here, Taylor. It's okay. I'm here," he whispered to her as gently as he could.

"Pathetic and manipulative?! So be it! I don't care!" Ai screamed. She hardly cared about anything at the moment. She just couldn't bring herself to worry about how pathetic she was or if she was manipulative. The only thing she knew was that she was losing control, losing herself. Tears were in her eyes when she was slapped as her hand came to touch the stinging part of her cheek as she listened to Taylor complain and call her a b!tch. "Did they do it on purpose, Blare?! Did they do it for revenge?! Did they do it because you protected your friend?! Did they do it for amusement?! Did they do it because they didn't care?! Tell me Blare! Is it because of those reasons?!" she screamed. Ai clearly remembered that day. She saved Ryuuji from taking the hit, and as revenge for it, Conan had broken a bone in her leg. It hurt like hell that day, both on the injury and inside her heart. "I had it fixed easily that day! But I used to live with what I thought were muggles!" she told her remembering the ones who had taken her in. "Were you disowned?! Did you live a life constantly in ropes?! In storage rooms, maybe?! A gun pointed at your head?! Dragged into an unknown car to an unknown location?! Give me one godd@mn good reason that your own life is worse than mine!" she screamed remembering the childhood horrors of being kidnapped. She only told Ryuuji about it, but right now, she couldn't bring herself to keep it hidden after how Taylor was complaining about her life.

"Lucky them, they didn't have to deal with you!" Ai said, her voice emotionless. Ai didn't know what Taylor meant, and she didn't want to try to find out. She was way out of herself for that. She was just about to say something, when she felt strong hands push her as hard as the offender possibly could and the Hufflepuff fell to the ground hard. Her wrath was increased and she raised her head to look at the offender and she immediately regretted it. "Conan," she said barely above a whisper. Ai bit her lip, she couldn't stand looking at them. Conan hugging and comforting Taylor. Why was he by her side? Wasn't she his own sister? Why did he choose Taylor? She couldn't bear to look, she couldn't bear to stay as tears ran down her face in a silent cry. The young girl struggled to stand, she wanted to run away. Where was Ryuuji? Where was Heath? She needed someone, anyone.

All Taylor could do to restrain herself from Ai Edogawa, was cry into Conan's arms. She was barely conscious of the fact that Ai was yelling at her, or that she seemed to have stopped the moment that Conan came to her side. All she cared about now, was that she had some-one to comfort her like she needed. She was probably wrecking his clothes as she cried, but what could she do. Ai was a pathetic, manipulative little b!tch that didn't care about anyone. Why was she like that? This had all started in first year when Conan had forgotten to meet her or something. Conan had then tried to get Ai to apologise for making her cry, but in the end Taylor had seemingly cried. Taylor hugged herself closer to Conan, as if to further punish Ai, but at the moment, the girl was the furtherest thing from her mind. "Conan," Taylor called as she heard him stroke her hair and call her name. He was being such a good friend about this, considering who was in the room right now. "thankyou." She was even sure if he would have heard it, it was a whisper of a word. She had to say it anyway. t was rather uncomfortable on the stone floor, but she didn't care. She was just glad that Conan came by when he had.

Conan wasn't letting go of Taylor as she cried. He knew how hurt she was because of her parents and also because of Ai. The young boy let the Gryffindor cry her heart out, he didn't care that Ai was in the room, cause in his own opinion, Taylor needed him more. He kept stroking her hair as she said his name. "It's okay Taylor. I'm here," he comforted her, unsure of what to say when she thanked him. He didn't need to be thanked did he, it was normal for a friend to comfort another, especially during these times. The Hufflepuff boy scanned the room and caught sight of his twin before shooting a glare at her. Why did she say those things? Out of all people he knew, he knew that it would be Ai who would be able to understand Taylor's pain the most, but he supposed he was wrong. "Get out of here Ai," he said, his voice showing finality and a hint of anger. "Now," he said before turning his attention back to the crying Gryffindor.

Ai was hurt. She knew Taylor was too, but she didn't care about the Gryffindor at the moment, as the pain in her chest became more and more difficult to bear. It was bad enough that Taylor had called her a b!tch, slapped her and told her that her life is better, but Conan just had to come in the room and take Taylor's side. "Why is it always like this?" she thought to herself as she stared at the floor, tears coming out of her eyes as her strength betrayed her. She couldn't bear to look at them, she didn't even dare listen, but he just had to say those words. Why was he mad at her? Why was he not mad at Taylor too? Ai gave up. She quickly stood and took a glance at them, wishing that she was the one in the Gryffindor's place. The Hufflepuff quickly ran down the flight of stairs and as fast as she could, head back to her own room.
