Scarlet Joussane had just gone from the Library and was now debating with herself on where she should go next. Of course, the Hufflepuff knew that there were tons of places that she could go to within the castle. She just didn't know where. And aside from that, she was one to easily get lost and so she was really debating with herself on where she should go in which she absolutely and a hundred and one percent sure that she was not going to get lost. Of course, that currently proved to be quite the difficult task. There were really a lot of places tempting to go to at the moment. One was her dorm, so she could just lay down and sleep. There was also the Common Room that would allow her to relax by the fireplace. And the library was just as tempting since it was one of her most favorite places. Of course, she could also go outdoors, but she found that she had not explored the castle too much yet. Great Hall, Dungeons, Student Lounge... What else? ... Courtyard! the Hufflepuff thought and finally decided. The courtyard it is then for the girl.

Scarlet had not taken long before reaching the courtyard. Of course, she had not gotten lost since the Great Hall wasn't really too far from the said place and besides, it was easy to spot as well so the first year had no trouble finding it. The young Hufflepuff took a look at the area first and noticed that there was little people around compared to the numerous people within the corridors of the castle and so she much appreciated this turn of environment. She then entered the said place and took her seat on one of the vacant benches. She let her vision wander all around the place until she was slowly getting tired although refusing to admit it, and soon, she was keeping herself from dozing off despite the fact that she still wanted to stay within the comforting environment offered by the Courtyard.

Marc had wandered around the castle numerous times. It wasn't because he loved getting lost but exploring new places would benefit him for when he had to deliver a note, guide another student or some scenario. It couldn't hurt. By this time it was almost lunch and he was starving. He trotted off to the Great Hall and decided to take the route through the Courtyard and he wasn't sure why. He supposed it was because he wanted to see the sights before getting his lunch.

As a quick pace, he marched towards the castle until he spotted Scarlet sitting on a bench. Normally this wouldn't bother him but he had noticed that she was seeming to be drifting off a bit. Questioning his hunger, he decided to go over and help her before she fell off the bench and hurt herself.

"You alright there?", he asked softly enough so she wouldn't be startled but loud enough to get her into the right frame of mind. Scanning her over, he recognised her but wasn't quite sure where from? Defence Against the Dark Arts? No, she's not a Gryffindor. History of Magic? Yes... yes. He recognised her now. "You look tired, need help?".

Scarlet really was feeling sleepy. But then again, she wasn't all too willing to give up the fresh and soothing atmosphere the Courtyard had to offer. It was much, much, much better compared to the suffocating feeling that her room would sometimes give her, especially since during her first few days in Hogwarts, she would spend her time there for hours on end. It was rare for the courtyard to be solemn and nearly void of people after all, so she really was savoring the feeling despite both her eyelids fluttering close once in every minute or so.

Though initially feeling sleepy and tired, Scarlet's eyes shot open upon hearing a boy close to her. She really wasn't good with socializing especially the opposite gender! She hoped that she could bear this shyness just until the boy leaves, if he would ever leave. She wasn't sure how she should act after all. The Hufflepuff merely nodded at his first question as she was slowly recovering from the initial shock. She recognized the boy from her classes though she couldn't put a finger on his name though. Another question had arose from the boy and Scarlet shook her head. She was willing to stay in the courtyard and she was pretty sure that she would be fine. Or at least she was thinking that she'd be fine. No one would hurt her or tease her or hit her while she was asleep right? Certainly no wizard was that mean. Or so she hoped that was the case in this school.

Marc felt sorrow for the girl. He could tell that she was a social outcast by her pure reaction alone. He sat down beside her but in attempt not to scare her, he sat a little away from her and didn't make eye contact. "I wouldn't advise sleeping out in the sun. Especially on a hot day like this. You'll burn to a crisp". He waited to see if the girl replied before saying anything else. He sat and looked around the Courtyard at what everyone else was doing.

Scarlet was quite surprised when the boy sat beside her. Though not really as close as how Armin, Jakobe, and Guiliano had gotten when she was with any of them, she still felt shyness. She was particularly glad that the boy had decided to sit in the same bench yet maintain some distance between them. She wasn't really sure what she would do if he sat really, really, really close to her. She really couldn't take much more attention that was so foreign to her. "I'm fine," she said meekly and barely above a whisper. She wasn't all too willing to talk after all especially while she was this tired and sleepy that her consciousness was threatening to escape to go to Dream Land and leave her alone.

Marcus took a glance at the girl as she replied and returned to observing everyone else. He didn't quite know what to do in this situation. He knew keeping enough distance is a good as it won't scare her off, especially since Marc is an entire new person to her. "Nice today, ain't it?", he said as he admired the warm sun. It felt great on his skin and he could sit in it for hours, but he was smart enough not to.
