Ricky's break had been great, as he thought it was. He was happy to see his family again, especially his mum, who he hadn't seen for a wee while. But he was glad to be back at Hogwarts. Being at home was slightly weird because they weren't allowed to use magic outside of school because he was underage for that sort of thing. He was excited to see his friends again and to also learn and use magic again. Ricky had decided to make his way outside for a bit, hoping it would probably waste time or something. He had no idea what to do today, as he wasn't in the mood to sneak or take a peek into the kitchens as he would usually.

There was visible sweat on his brow as he practically had to limp his way back from the Quidditch pitch from an early morning practice by himself. His leg was killing him and it was at this point he really wished he had brought his crutches with him. But no, they were back up in the common room. Back up all of those stairs that he was not going to have to struggle up to find somewhere to sit down. Next time he was going to bring them and also try some extra padding. But he was only about half-way back when he saw a familiar face, quickly trying to straighten up and mask the pain he was feeling as he approached the other second year. "Ricky, hey."

Ricky had just been walking in absolute circles, with no idea what he wanted to do, because he was so... bored... Ricky looked up when he had heard a familiar voice. "Hey, man. What's up?" Ricky said with a smile. He hadn't seen Flynn in a while, so it was good to see a familiar face. "You glad to be back at Hogwarts?" Ricky said to the boy. Again, Ricky had mixed feelings when coming back to Hogwarts, he didn't want to leave home because he wasn't going to see his friends back home for a while but was glad to see his school friends again.

Flynn tried to straighten up, trying to smile and look as casual about things as ever. At least standing still he could shift most of his weight onto his left foot to give his right leg some relief for the time being. "Nothing much just got in some extra Quidditch practice," and he was going to need as much practice possible if he had any hopes of making the team. "I guess," though he was happy to get away from the orphanage again, Hogwarts just didn't have the same excitement to it as it did last year. "But what are you doing? You just seem to be... wandering around."

Richard nodded when Flynn had explained about practising Quidditch and all. Qudditch hadn't really interested Ricky, but it was cool to see people flying on brooms and what not. Also seeing the dedication people had for the sport was quite interesting to see for RIcky. "Nothing, to be honest. I was bored." Ricky says with a shrug and a tiny smile. There was nothing for Ricky to do at the moment. He had been slightly bored once he had arrived at Hogwarts. "Do you want to sit down?" Ricky said as he pointed to a bench that was near by, as Ricky had noticed that the Gryffindor had looked slightly tired.

He did have to give the Hufflepuff just a small strange look as he explained he wasn't actually doing anything. "So you were just wandering around for no reason?" Sounded like a waste of time, to him. Also far too much effort and he' rather just sit down when he was bored these days instead of aimless wandering. Though when Ricky pointed to a bench and asked if he wanted to sit, Flynn stiffened slightly, standing up a little straighter. "Why do you ask?" He had to ask. Though yeah, he would rather like to sit down, he didn't really want to admit it out loud.

Ricky just shrugged. "Yeah I guess," Ricky said with a shrug. He knew that is wasn't the best idea to be wandering around the grounds. But he didn't really want to be inside for the whole time until classes actually started. Ricky looked at Flynn for a little bit before looking at the bench and then at Flynn again. "Oh nothing man. You just look a little tired. But it's all goods if you don't want to" Ricky says with a shrug. He wasn't going to force or make Flynn do something he didn't want to. "Gotten any good pranks done or anything fun during your break?"

If he thought that just spending his time sitting down in the common room doing nothing was boring, then he could imagine how just walking around outside with nothing to do with be just as boring. "Right. Whatever floats your boat, I guess," not something he would want to be doing with his time, that's for sure. But the comment that he looked tired did have him trying to straighten up, stubbornly shaking his head, "I'm fine." It was an easy lie to say, though he knew he was probably going to end up regretting it. "No I was... busy," not exactly the whole truth about the matter, but he'd rather not go into that, "Didn't have the time to be thinking about pranking." Let alone the motivation to do anything besides eating and lay around in bed all day.
