Fourth Years, Lesson One

Gabrielle watched as the students took their seats. They were always a bit slow in getting started for the new year, though by fourth year the students were a little better about it. "Good morning, and welcome back! Since you probably haven't seen me for a while, my apologies, my name is Professor Moncrieffe and I am your History of Magic professor for one more year. Thank you for sticking with the class and I hope we'll enjoy this last year together. If you're continuing with History of Magic into OWLs and NEWTs, even though I won't be your teacher for it please feel free to reach out to me if you need a hand or have any questions about the materials. Or just want to do some slightly more interesting study that's not on the course." It also went for anyone not continuing, but she suspected those students probably wouldn't want or need to reach out to her anyway.

"Obviously, you all know how to behave yourselves by now so I shouldn't need to remind you of the classroom rules." The fourth years were old enough not to be treated like kids. If they acted up, she'd talk to them, but otherwise she trusted them to be responsible. "What you might need to be reminded of is what you've studied so far. There was a lot of lecturing, I know, you might have tuned it out over the holidays." Gabrielle smirked at the students, knowing some of them will have probably forgotten. "You know that for your OWLs you're going to have to go back over first through fifth year work, yes? So, I want you to start taking the time to refresh your memory from time to time. But a little homework exercise for today..." she started, hearing a couple of groans and looking a little smug. "Yes, yes, it's terrible and you're all suffering so greatly. It's week one. You'll survive. I'd like you to write me an essay on something you've learned in History of Magic since you've been here. It doesn't have to be extensive, just show me that you've retained something. That's all for today, go and enjoy some fresh air!"

Homework
RP the lesson. Extra credit for a short 'essay' (though honestly 1 or 2 sentences is sufficient) about one thing you've learned in History of Magic since you've been here. Be sure to check over the Classroom Policy!

One of Theo's favourite subjects had to be History of Magic. He liked learning about History in general as well as the stories behind things. The Ravenclaw quickly packed up the things he needed for the lesson before quickly heading down to his History of Magic class. Once he arrived, he took a seat near the back, took out his things and placed them on the desk in front of him, before moving his attention towards the professor.

It wasn't long before the professor started off with the lesson, and Theo listened carefully to what the professor was saying, taking some small notes of what the professor was saying as well as nodding his head throughout the lesson to show that he was understanding the content that was being said. It wasn't long before the lesson had come to an end, and they were dismissed. Theo made sure to take note of the homework that had been given, already thinking of a few things to write. He then packed up his things as well as his area. He says a quick but appreciative thanks and goodbye ot the professor before heading out of the classroom with the rest of his classmates.

There were many things that we learned over the last few years, but the ones that I remember were that we learnt about Harry Potter. Both briefly about his life during his time at Hogwarts and post-Hogwarts as an auror

Henri walked into the history of magic classroom and took his usual spot in the room. His gaze moved to the professor at the front of the room as she got started. he didn't hate history but he found it too broad for his interests. He opened his books and took his quill but the professor mostly went over rules and then gave them a little piece of work, to do an essay on what they'd already learnt, he was quick at this and then when he could headed out of the room.

Lincoln made his way into Professor Moncrieffe’s classroom for the first lesson of the new semester. Professor Moncrieffe introduced herself for the benefit of anyone who didn’t know her and then informed them that it would be the last year that she would be teaching them before she handed them over to the upper years professor. With that out of the way, they moved on to the task for the lesson, which was to write an essay about something they had learned in a previous year.
