First Yule Ball

Damien looked at himself in the mirror.This was the first time he had been to any sort of dance,he didn't even know how to dance.He and Hariah had agreed to go as friends but it hadn't been until he had been talking to Andrea that people would take that the wrong way.He was a bit nervous about that but it wasn't true so that was all that mattered.he had to say he liked the suit his aunt had picked,she most of spent a lot of money on it though.He liked the fact that it wasn't to formal,he thought he didn't look to bad in it.Luckily his hair was constantly messy and no amount of brushing would fix it.Taking one last look he smiled to himself before walking out of his dorm.

On the way down to the hall he saw lots of people in their outfits everyone looked very nice.Damien wasn't even sure what they were supposed to do other then dance and what if you didn't have a partner?Damien was glad he wouldn't have to find out.when he reached the hall and walked in he was amazed by the decorations.All the tables had been moved and instead there were smaller tables decorated nicely.He was looking forward to singing with the Glee club their group song was good but he wasn't sure whether he had and Hraiah would be singing their duet,they had practiced none the less and he thought they were good.He looked around for Hariah but he couldn't see her yet so he waited by the door for her.

Hariah had spent most of the day preparing for the Yule Ball. She absolutely loved formal settings, dances especially. It would be the first one she would go to without her father being there, she would be by herself and that was daunting but also exciting. She was finally stepping out on her own, but she wouldn't be totally alone. Damien had agreed to go to the dance with Hariah and she was really delighted for this. Never had she really had a good friend who was accompanying her to a dance before. Damien was probably her best friend right now, after their first meeting they left as good friends and Glee club had brought them closer. Speaking of Glee club they all had to perform at the Yule Ball for everyone, Hariah was quite nervous about this. She put on her dress, that she had decided upon a week prior, fixed her hair in the mirror and said goodbye to her room mate and made her way down to the Great Hall to meet Damien.

There was already a lot of people in the Great Hall and everyone looked fantastic. Hariah couldn't believe that Hogwarts would host something like this but she was grateful they had. She could hear the music getting louder and she made her way closer to the hall, she couldn't wait to start dancing. Hariah noticed Damien by the doors she waved and smiled at him, he looked really nice in his suit. "I like your suit" Hariah commented grinning at him "Shall we?" she asked gesturing into the hall.

Damien was taping his foot on the ground to the beat of the music.He was smiling watching all the other people dancing and chatting he looked around and smiled when he saw Hariah make her way over.She looked lovely in her dress.He smiled when she complemented his suit "You look lovely"He said grinning.He put out his arm seeing as this was only good manners and made his way into the hall.As he walked in he looked at the place.It was decorated nicely and he wondered were all balls as good as this.The Yule Ball would probably be the only ball he was ever attend,he didn't think there was anything like that back I New York well his part anyways.he could see a few first years he knew around the place and he recognized another few people other ten that he felt very small.But really he was quite tall and taller then a lot of people in the hall he was tall for his age and he was told a lot. "So do you want to dance or get a drink?"He asked Hariah

Hariah smiled at Damien "Thank you very much" and she took his arm. They walked into the Great Hall together and she looked around the hall and it was decorated marvellously, almost as well as Halloween. It reminded her of the parties she went to back home and she smiled. Hariah looked around for people that she might know but she couldn't see anyone, perhaps they hadn't arrived yet. The music changed to an up tempo beat and Hariah grinned at Damien "Dance?" and she grabbed his hand and dragged him onto the dance floor. There were other people on the dance floor but it wasn't completely full yet. The night was still young.

Damien smiled as she took his arm and they walked into the hall.As usual the place looked amazing.He wondered how they did it in the space of a few hours.they had eaten diner there and now the place was completely done up.he had to admire the professors handy work.He couldn't wait till he was able to do that sort of magic which was strange because only a few weeks ago he had despised magic now all he wanted to do was learn more.Damien knew she was going to say dance and he dreaded doing it.He had never dancing in public before,it was a whole new board game for him.It was way out of his comfort zone.When she dragged him out onto the floor he just stood there fr a few seconds before recognizing the song.thankfully it wasn't a slow one,because if it ha it would of been the end of Damien there and then but t was a song with a catchy beat and he found himself moving with it."Have you been to something like this before"
