First Years, Lesson Six

It was already the end of semester, and just about the end of year. Gabrielle was astounded at how time flew. It had been a pretty full on semester for the first years - they'd hit the ground running with a few different major parts of magical history that they ought to be aware of, and they'd all managed to make it through their first year without her actually throwing anyone in the lake. Yet. Perhaps her victory in the dueling tournament had served as enough of a warning not to get on her bad side. Still, she figured she ought to be at least somewhat nice to the students, and accordingly she'd put out a table with a few snacks for the students, including pitchers of juice and water and some sandwiches and fruit as well as chocolates and cupcakes. She at least had to sort of try and make the snack table somewhat healthy (although she knew the students would probably go for the sweets).

"Hello, everyone," Gabrielle greeted, nodding at the students as they entered. "Please feel free to take some snacks. I don't have chocolate frogs, though. I'm wanting you to rely on proper sources." She waited as they milled around before taking their seats, pulling out her notes. "I'm not going to give you a lecture today, this is a revision class. Let's just go over a couple of questions that you might see on your exam and then I'll leave you to it."

Gabrielle cleared her throat, looking at her notes. "Okay, so, easy one to start. Who did we start with, the most famous western wizard of all time, anyone?" She waited as someone answered, and nodded. "Good work. Let's make it a bit harder. How about...who were the three women named as witches by the Williams children in Salem?" She let the students go through the answers, and grinned. "Well done. If you had a bit of trouble remembering those, I'd say now's a good time to have a good look over your notes on the witch trials." She gave them a bit of a conspiratorial look. "The boy who lived, what was his name?" She gave a nod as that, too, was answered, and she put her notes back down as she sunk into her chair.

"Alright, I'll leave you all to it. Now's a good time to go over your notes, have some snacks, talk amongst yourselves. I would prefer you to talk about what you've learned this semester but if you must talk about other things I'd ask you to keep it down. Surely you don't want me knowing all about your holiday plans. You have to get through your exams first, remember. If you fail, you'll be re-doing the exam while everyone's at the Yule Ball." Gabrielle smirked as she sat back behind her desk, taking an apple slice from her plate and nodding to the students. She was clearly joking, and hoped the students realized that. She certainly had no intention of sticking around the school for the ball if she could help it. "And I'll be right here for the class so if you have any questions or need any clarification at all, please come and ask me. I'm not going to be happy to answer your questions on the morning of the exam, so speak now or forever hold your peace." With that, she let the students amuse themselves for the rest of the class time. Hopefully they would be studying, but she knew she couldn't force them to. She did certainly appreciate the students who did, though.

Homework
RP the lesson. Bonus points to students answering questions (limit it to one per student, preferably people who haven't had a chance to answer questions yet!)
Because I'm late in posting, I will accept an attendance post for your RP. Apologies for the delay and thank you kindly for your understanding at this time.

Eloise couldn't believe that they were pretty much at the end of the semester. Time had gone by quite fast, and it wasn't long before the semester was finished. Eloise had made sure she had everything before she happily skipped to her history of magic classroom, with her candy floss earrings placed on her ears. Once she had arrived, she quickly took a seat in her usual spot. She then took out the things she needed for the lesson before placing them on the desk in front of her.

Eloise moved her attention towards the professor as Professor Moncrieffe started off with the lesson. The Hufflepuff sighed in relief as they were told that they weren't going to be doing anything new today, more so a revision lesson, which Eloise was quite pleased about. Eloise had put her hand up for the questions, but hadn't been picked until the last question. She had become a little shy when she was picked. "Harry Potter" Eloise says shyly, her cheeks burning a little red from embarrassment. She smiled shyly when she got the answer right. Eloise studied during the rest of the lesson, as she didn't want to fail on the exams.

It wasn't long until the lesson had come to an end, and they were dismissed. Eloise was glad that there was no homework due. The Hufflepuff quickly packed up her things as well as tidied up her area. She then says a quick and appreciative thanks and goodbye to the professor before heading out of the classroom with the rest of her friends and classmates.

Zeke enjoyed that they got given snacks on their last lesson. He helped himself to a cupcake then sat down and listened along, not able to answer any of the questions quick enough before someone else did. At the end of the lesson, Zeke packed up and thanked the professor for the cupcake just before he left the classroom.

Ruby sat in History of Magic class for their final lesson this semester, turning her nose up at all the snacks on offer. She listened along to the questions and answers although didn't answer any for herself. At the end of the lesson, Ruby packed up and left the classroom.

Juniper was so tired of lessons, every day she just went back to her dorm and laid in bed until dinner time and then dragged herself there and then went to sleep. Who would have thought having so many new things at once would be soo exhausting. She was glad it was almost break time but first there would be exams. History of magic had been more or less full of scary things this year and every lesson was nerve wracking as she waited in anticipation for what was to come. Thankfully the last lesson was just revision so to say. Juniper raised her hand and got picked for the first question, "Merlin?" She answered, her awkwardness and meek voice making it sound more like a question. The rest she just listened and went through her own notes before leaving at the end of the lesson.
