It was Monday morning and Jonathan entered the Great Hall, his robes flowing behind him. As he made his way to the Staff table he could see the young children's eyes following him. It wasn't unexpected though, he was the new teacher, well one of them anyway from what he knew about the staff changes, or rather additions.

As he sat on one of the empty seats he observed the Great Hall, wondering if any of the children there would be in his first class that morning. He was rather excited, nervous but excited. He poured himself a cup of hot coffee and took a few pieces of food in front of him, toast, eggs, bacon and sausages. As he ate he ran over the lesson plan over and over in his head.

Jacqueline entered the Great Hall and walked up to the Staff table. She did not know anyone in at the school as she had been out of touch with most of her peers because of Death Eater business. She sat down beside a nice looking man. Jac thought he looked like he was unsure like she was. Maybe he was new too?

Jacqueline picked up a piece of toast on her plate and took a bite. She noticed she had pumpkin juice in her glass. She smiled a rather dazzling smile. Pumpkin juice was her very favorite. She turned to the man beside her. Jac needed to make some acquaintances here even if she could not call them friends. Without knowing anyone, her time might be miserable...

"Hello there." Jacqueline said in her most friendly voice. "I am Jacqueline Burke. This is my first day." she admitted to the man. Though she hated showing weakness to strangers.

Tom entered the Great Hall. He had a good feeling about this term. Gryffindor lay highest with house points, but hopefully they could try that extra bit harder to overtake Slytherin in first position. Tom had also changed his lesson plans slightly. His 6th years lessons were now more hands on due to their being more field trips than last year. Tom took a seat noting two professors sitting there having some breakfast. Tom nodded to them having never seeing them before, presuming they were both new. Tom thought it would be best to introduce himself. "Good morning, there. Tom Fletcher. Gryffindor head of house and Care of Magical Creatures professor. A pleasure to meet you" He said smiling as he poured himself a coffee. He helped himself to some porridge. "If any Gryffindors misbehave then just send them to me. Nothing worse when teaching then disruptive students but in fairness, their aren't that many. Most are good young witches and wizards" Tom said trying to make them feel that they don't have to put up with any misbehaviour whatsoever. "So what do you both teach?" Tom asked making conversation.

Remus remembered what it felt like to be the new guy on the block, he had been there once and he was glad he wasn't there any more, he had a steady ground where he was a Hogwarts and he was happy about it. Sitting at a far end of the Staff table the entire time, he was hidden behind his daily prophet, browsing through the current stories. Words filled the air from his side, as he shifted the daily prophet down and looked over to his side at the two new faces, one so happening to be a Transfiguration Professor who replaced Miss London. Remus thought to himself for a moment as he pondered on them, he re-called that he never actually went to meet the new Professor in his one of many areas of expertise. He waited a moment as the to seemed to speak 'kindly' to one another.

Remus awaited for the woman's greeting to be noted by the man and responded too, before he himself spoke, "Remus Drafis Firn, Professor of Transfiguration." he said proudly looking at them, though his voice cold and velvety as always; calm. He looked them up and down for a moment, "And you both are Jacqueline Burke and Johnathan Spenser, am i correct?" he added smugly, "Yes i thought so." he said before they had a chance to reply, "Well in that case, welcome to Hogwarts New Zealand, enjoy your stay and enjoy your classes." he nodded calmly and clearly, he wasn't much of a social man unless he was speaking to people that were more like himself or the headmistress.

"Morning Remus" Tom said smiling. He had never really had much to do with Remus. He had heard a few rumours but that was neither here nor there. It would be unprofessional of him to comment or ask about those. He had heard he had had a run-in with Professor Manteia during last term. he was not jealous of that. if there was one person he did not want to cross paths with would be Professor Manteia. Tom looked at Remus who had been successful in taking cover behind the Daily Prophet after all he did not notice him. Tom put his empty bowl to one side. "Looking forward to the new term Remus?" Tom asked the professor of Transfiguration. Tom had never been successful in Transfiguration but that was something he kept to himself. He looked at Remus awaiting a reply.

Remus' eyes darted over to Tom, he hadn't noticed him earlier, "Ah, Morning Tom." he smiled kindly, Tom was some one he had never really seen or spoke to but always saw to have a good personality and a respect for the learning of Students, a good Head of House something Remus took to note. When Tom brought up the new Term, Remus nodded, "Indeed i am, i just hope that this children can reach my expectations." he chuckled slightly, "Sometimes i wonder how i started teaching the younger students." he smiled briefly, nodding as he spoke and looked at the paper before him again, "Yourself Tom?" he asked curiously as his eyes moved from the Paper to the Head of House. Remus shifted his hand to the mug that sat before him, it held coffee and Remus had been drinking it all morning, due to the fact he took quite some time to shift his eyes from the paper, considering this was his third or forth time reading it, there were somethings in there he just didn't want to stop looking into, Especially the events that had been occurring with Death Eaters.

"Yes.. I hope that Gryffindor are successful in winning the house cup but also I have made my lessons more hands on. More field trips to places such as England and Scotland. I hope it all adds to the experience but also it makes learning easier because its more visual you find it easier to remember rather than just note taking etc. They also get to meet more dangerous creatures than before. Like seeing Dragons at an enclosure or Griffins and Thestrals. " Tom said. He hoped his 6th years would appreciate the field trips. He noticed a decline in people attending his 6th year lessons last year due it becoming increasingly harder as the creatures were more dangerous but after making sure protection was at a maximum, field trips were allowed. "Have a good break?" Tom asked Remus. For him it had gone way too quickly, but teaching was what he really enjoyed so he didn't mind too much.

Jacqueline smiled as a younger handsome man joined them at the table. He introduced himself as Tom Fletcher, the Head of Gryffindor. Jacqueline barely had time to manage a smile for him before another man showed up. She did not appreciate him seeming to talk down to her. She wanted to wipe that smug look off his face. Jacqueline narrowed her eyes at him as he said her name. She turned back to Tom. "My name is Jacqueline Burke. I am also the Transfiguration Professor for years 5-7." she informed them both with a smirk. Jac knew she shouldn't make trouble with Remus Firn. After all, they would be teaching alongside each other.

Remus nodded as Tom spoke about the field trips and things of the sort, and then asked how his Holiday was. "Not to Bad Tom, not bad at all... Indeed for some it went rather quick, others slow. For myself i felt it went quite slow, i was looking forward to getting back and spreading some knowledge around the school." he smiled before asking Tom a similar question, "Was yours up beat or more on the down-low?" he questioned smoothly before setting his gaze on the other Professor, Miss Burke. Remus looked at her for a moment judging by her body actions that she wasn't to keen on how he spoke to her, but not many were his voice was often could unease people; due to the fact it was velvety, calm and cold always. Though the students were the one often to be victim to this.

Remus looked at the New Female Professor for a moment more, "Mmm, Well you have a rather busy term to have come into teaching with. You have many of the heavy exams to deal with." he nodded to her, "I'm sure you are more then capable Miss Burke, though if you ever need a hand, I am merely around the corner." he said smugly, smiling at her. This type of attitude was something the older Professor's at Hogwarts were used to, it'd take time for the new colleagues who had come to work to ease into his attitude.

Jonathan looked up from his breakfast as a woman began to talk to him, "Pleasure to meet you. Jonathan Spenser. My first day too." He admitted with a nervous laugh. As he took another sip of his coffee he heard another voice. "Tom." He said with a small nod of acknowledgment. "Jonathan Spenser, History of Magic, Years 1 to 4. And thank for the heads up, I have Gryffindor first." he said, remembering his class schedule. Not long after another man appeared, he didn't even have to introduce himself this time as this man seemed to already know his name, he just nodded his head lightly. He continued to eat his breakfast as his fellow Professors made idle chit-chat.

Aurora hadn't been down to the Great Hall since the beginning of the semester. In fact, it wasn't really appealing to her to come down today. But she might aswell socialise while she remained at the school. After her argument with Professor Pollard, she was hardly in the good books. However the treatment that he was treating Cecily was awful and disgusting. She approached the Staff Table, much to her surprise she saw it was quite busy. Now'a days after being approached by students and ignoring their remarks of Aurora being insane, she would normally walk away at a group of people. Except she carried on and sat down at the end of the table, where she normally sat, after all there was an escape route nearby. She sighed and took some salad from the breakfast feast and slowly ate some cress, she never ate anything else. It was a marvel as to how she was even still alive. But she managed to live off it, and her stars of course. She saw a couple of the new professor's, and took the oppunity to introduce herself. "Hello, I-i-I'm Aurora" she pronounced in a dreamy tone.

Tom made a mental note of Jonathan's name, but was pretty sure he would remember it. He was pretty good with remembering people's names. Tom saw Aurora take a seat at the end of the table. Tom smiled as she took a seat, and heard her say hello in a dreamy way. Tom stifled a grin. He thought Aurora was quite eccentric and a tad crazy (in a good way). "Morning Aurora" Tom said. "Good summer?" Tom asked the Astronomy Professor, whilst buttering himself some toast. He poured himself another coffee, taking a sip of it, setting it down next to his plate which resided a round of toast.

"It could of been better" Aurora sighed in reply to Professor Fletcher. "How about yourself? I hear you'v started a little Thestral riding club?" she smiled. She hadn't completely settled in to be quite honest, despite being here for a year, and the sudden departure of Professor Cross wasn't really contributing to good health. The astronomy professor moved aside her salad, she didn't know what she was doing here, she wasn't even hungry. So she took a small sip of her water and layed her head on the table. "I'm so tired" Aurora mumbled.

Lola made her way to the staff table greeting a few students who bade her good morning. She noted how packed the table looked and also noted an unfamiliar face at it. Smiling she made her way forward and sat in her usual seat, grateful that the new professor had at least known not to sit there. She didn't squabble about much but the small things in life mattered to her and her seat, was after all her seat.

"Good morning all, how are we then?" she looked out upon the gaggle of students delighted that they all seemed to behaving respectfully this morning, "New face I see. I am Professor Lola Rowann DADA professor".
She knew that most did not believe her capable of this position when they first saw her, it was only with time that any got to know how truly formidable a witch she actually was.
