It was Winter in Drumstrang and so far it hadn't snow yet. As much as she preferred the sun, Issy didn't mind the cold. She was actually waiting it to snow already one afternoon after she had done her potion lesson. Professor Arrows predict would snow this morning, but now she wasn't so sure Arrows was reading his crystal ball right. In the moment of giving up for snow, the veela girl felt a cold chill creep out of her dorm window. Just as Arrows predicted, snow was finally falling. The first snow in the winter, meant practice on the snow board for her. Issy manage the snow board out of her clutter closet and went out all bundle up for the cold air.

Snow was beautiful. Of course, Hezekiah didn't admit this out loud. Being a first year he didn't have much of an image yet, but he wasn't planning on making any friends anytime soon.Hezekiah stared out the window intensely. He watched as a couple threw snowballs at each other. They looked so happy, and very cold. The smiles on their faces sent shiver up his spine. He watched as a older girl walked out into the cold with a snowboard. She was all bundled up. Hezekiah had heard from his little sister, Helen about what snowboard were, but he never actually knew how they worked. They were one of the very few things that puzzled him. "I should ask and see if I could watch her use it."he thought. "Accio coat!" he said having already pulled out his wand. He ran out into the snow and caught up with the girl. "How do you use those?" he asked in a demanding tone. Hezekiah didn't have many people skills so not like he wanted the question to sound demanding.

The snow was falling a lot faster then before, which was a good thing for Issy if she wanted to use her board today. The outside front of the castle was covered with three inches, she prayed for more as she step into the cold chill. wearing ugz boats she could hardly feel anything slipping through them. Issy looked around the school ground, searching for a good spot to practice her boarding. As she walk through a small path, she was interrupted by a younger boy."Oh it's a snow board, you ever used one before?" or course not dimwit, why would he ask what it was if he's never seen one before. She gave herself a mental slap in the face, offering a smile she brushed her silliness.

"I'm not good at it, my aunt bought it for me for my birthday, so I'm pretty new, would you like to tag along?" she was a little desperate for companionship. Ever since she came back all her old friends ditch at every sight when she came around. They were giving her the ultimate cold shoulder. Screw them, they weren't her real friends if they wanted to act like that. She been away for reasons, one her sister had been pregnant and alone. Her husband divorce her because she cheated and now she was a single mom with a baby. Truthfully life for them had been a hot mess. Now she back and alone. Issy figure to give the school a try before she started looking for a job and her own place to live.

"My sister just told me about them. I don't know much about them." Hezekiah looked away for the older girls gaze. She asked if he would like to 'tag along'. He just assumed that was a yes that he could watch her use it. Even though she said she wasn't that good.

"There is a small hill over there. You can try and get better at riding itthere." Hezekiah said and pointed to the small about almost ten feet in front of them. Hez tried to hide the excitement in his voice. " I am Hezekiah. Who are you? he decided to introduce himself. He started to head towards the hill.

"Oh does your sister ride them too? Does she attend this school?" she would be syked if she did, knowing another witch who knew how to ride boards would pretty awesome. Then she won't feel alone in learning the objective of this muggel contraction. "Thanks but I think I'm heading for a more smaller slope than a hill" she followed her gaze to his pointed direction. That was no hill, that was pain written all over it. She showed him the small slope that she spoke of, the ride would be gentle and it will be easy getting use to writing the board after a while or practice.

"I'm Isi-dor-a" she rip off her gloves and shove her hands into the smaller boy. "But you can call me Issy for short. You're names pretty wicked, what is that Japaneses or something?" she pronounce it in her head, the name became difficult as she tried to figure the sounding in pronouncing it out loud. "Do you have a nickname cause I'm terrible at names" not to be mean, but she like not offending someone language if she didn't say the name correctly. She would feel the same about her name, that's how her nick name came to be about.

"My sister doesn't attend this school. She is seven you see, and she loves reading about Muggle contraptions like this." Hezekiah explained. He really missed his sister. She was the only one that understood. Hezekiah forced himself to stop thinking about Helen. He followed the older girls finger to the the smaller slope she thought was better than his hill. "Oh. I guess that is fine too." he mumbled.

The older girls name was Isidora, but I could call her Issy. "I think my name is Hebrew or something. My parents named me after a great king of Jerusalem." Hezekiah stopped talking. He felt like was saying too much. He didn't want to get too close to this girl so quickly. "You can shorten my name however you want. It doesn't matter really." he said to the ground.

"Awww nice, It must be nice having a sister who reads, I don't cause I lack the ability to stay still" she laughed, meaning for it to be a joke. When very well underneath her words it was sad she didn't care to read much. It also explain the strain relationship she had with her uncle. Lukyan being an author and all, it displease him that his niece would take no interest in books. "I was so off! It's a nice name dude, but I'ma call you Kiah for short" she turn around wearing a smile on her cold face. Issy summon goggles for them both out of her room and an extra scarf for Kiah to wear. "Here put this on" she handed the ski goggle and the scarf. Issy snap hers own quickly right after she tuck away her oak wood wand. The snow fell heaver the more they stood outside waiting, it was starting to look like a winter wonderland.

"Hey do you want a go at it first?" she insisted too Kiah. He was here, she had no friends, why not make one here? By sharing her board and they both can learn how to snow board. Besides the slope was great for them to start. Through the goggles she could see the fall, it was small and it ended near the castle grounds. They had enough height, great light from the winter sun, and it was snowing so it won't turn into a mud slide.

I am going to make up a color for the scarf okay?

Hezekiah took the scarf and goggles. The scarf had a mixture of red, orange, yellow and purple. He wrapped the scarf around his neck and placed the goggles on his head. He nodded his head to Issy as to say, 'thank you'. The scarf wasn't his style but it was warm and soft. "Uh, sure I will see if I can operate this contraption." Hezekiah said.

He took the the board from Issy's hands and set it on the ground. He saw there were places to strap your feet into. With some difficulty her ended up strapping his in safely, he hoped. "So do you just, uh, give me a push?" Hezekiah looked over the slope and gulped.

Issy nodded, "Just go super slow okay?" she made sure he was okay and strap on right. "I'm not going to let you go actually so that's why I need you to go slow" she placed her wrist around his elbows. "Now with me just go down" she started to walk down the small little slope. It was seriously nothing that Kiah could get hurt in. She lead him to the small drop, "Ready when you are.." she arched her eyebrows, ready herself to run in case she had to run after a screaming first year.

Hezekiah took five deep breaths. "I'm going to start moving okay?" he stated. He bent his knees and lightly pushed forward. He started to move. Naturally, he started shifting his weight from one leg to the other so he wouldn't got to fast and embarrass himself. He exhaled. He had to stay calm. "Am I doing okay?" Hezekiah asked Issy.

Issy for the most part kept her words of not letting go, except when they grew near the slope's end. "Yeah you're killing it, really!" she grin at her little friend. He look so nervous, so afraid, this was like a total first for her. Usually boys were hyper to do stuns like this, not very often she run into someone less interesting like 'Kiah'. Time to break him out of his safe zone, she let go early stopping right in the middle of the small hill. She stayed put to see the rest of his ride down the snowy hill.

Hezekiah felt Issy let go him. His heart started beating rapidly. "Calm down Hez. You are almost done." He encouraged himself. He kept doing what he was doing and before he knew it he was at the bottom of the slope. Hezekiah smiled to himself and manuvered himself to turn around and give Issy a thumbs up. "Are you ready to try it?" He asked loud enough for her to hear him.
