Shane hadn’t been to an event like this before, his old school had had events like it, but Shane mostly hadn’t gone. He hadn’t wanted to involve himself in such a thing. It was usually very formal and he was fairly unwelcome at the school so why would an event be any different? But at Hogwarts he was willing to give it a chance. He finished getting himself ready and then headed to the hall, he hadn’t dressed as fancy as he could’ve but enough that he was quite happy with what he was wearing and as it turned out how it fit in with what all the others in the room were wearing too. The hufflepuff glanced about the hall, he wasn’t sure if this was fancier or less fancy than his last school’s event because he hadn’t gone to that in the entire time he’d been there. This was nice though, another point in the column for Hogwarts. He liked it a lot. The teen was smiling vaguely, the vaguest air of a smile on his face, a real actual smile on his features was maybe a rarity but Shane was quite pleased with it all. The teen walked over to the drinks table and got himself on, just looking around the room. It was a maybe a bit lonely for him being on his own and knowing so few of the people but he wasn’t too disappointed, he was always able to be content in his own little world.
