Belladonna Metzger thought it was pretty unfair that Benjamin got to go to Hogwarts a whole year earlier than she did. True he was born first, but Bell still didn't like the idea of it. How on earth was she going to last a whole year by herself? She wasn't. Ben was not only her big brother, but he was also her partner in crime. Well it might be a little more like, he was the person who took the heat when Bell was into some trouble, which she often was. Belladonna was fiery, impatient, and had a tendency not to think before she did things. But at the same time she could be really caring, loyal, and trusting to those she was close with. Ben managed to get stuck in the middle, where Bell cared enough to protect him from anything, but at the same time he was also pretty easy to blame things on. Now he was gone and Bell knew that she was really going to get into trouble a lot this year. The things Bell did she wasn't sure why they got her into trouble. Never did she bully anyone, or steal things. Belladonna wound up doing little things like getting paint on the floor, playing soccer in the house, or dressing up the family pet. They weren't truly awful things, but things that a normal child often did. "Dad, I'm going to walk around a little bit. I won't go too far, promise!" Bella told her dad she noticed the familiar sign of a toy store up ahead. Bell was still only ten years old, so of course the thought of toys was really exciting to her. The blonde stopped right in front of the window and peered inside. Maybe if she pleaded enough, she could talk her daddy into buying her some.

Bella saw that her dad was not too far behind so he would see her if she went inside and quickly dashed inside. As long as he knew where she was, hopefully he wouldn't get mad at her for wandering around without him by her side. A small smile graced Belladonna's lips. There were so many toys. Dolls, toy trains, even little broomsticks. Out of the corner of eyes, Bella noticed a china tea set out of the corner of her eye, and her mouth fell. Despite her trouble making ways, Bella was still quite girly. "Oh this tea set is just so beautiful! My dad has to get it for me! If he doesn't....I will forever be miserable!" Well that was kind of a lie, but Bell wanted it that bad. Belladonna saw her dad outside the window and wanted to get his attention so she could tell him that she wanted the tea set. If she bat her little eyelashes and loved on him enough, maybe he would buy it for her. However, as she turned to run back out of the shop and get her dad, Belladonna roughly slammed into someone else. "Ah!" Belladonna fell back and landed on the floor. Perhaps she should have actually paid attention as she tried to leave, but she had just gotten so excited to tell her dad. Her teal eyes drifted over and saw that she had run into a young boy. Probably around her age or her brother's. Bell got back up off the floor and glanced out the window. Crap! Where did her dad go? "Er...sorry! Totally didn't see you there!" Bell looked again, her dad was nowhere to be seen. He must have passed by the shop. Great, now she was never going to get the tea set she wanted. Belladonna frowned and sighed, well this stunk something fierce.

Vladimir Zhefarovich could not believe that his father would be sending him to the school that Sergei was going to right now. Vladimir had learned recently that he even had an older brother like Sergei, but the whole ordeal was very complicated. Vlad had to get used to the fact that he was no longer the firstborn, but he was still chosen to be one of the new Heads in the new era. He and Damianos both. Damianos would not be attending school until he was going into his second year. His siblings though were close in age. He would be in school when his youngest siblings would be in school. Well, so he thought anyway. With the training and such, Vlad actually had the brains to figure it out if he wanted to. Or cared to. Vlad had some people issues already. With the way he was raised, he was hateful, prideful, prejudice and a proud supremacist. Nothing could ever change that. However since he was still very young, he could not tell apart the mudbloods from the pure-bloods. He had yet to come across any other being. Right now he was outside with his sisters and brothers, but Vlad felt that he did not need anyone to watch over him. Instead he wondered off and chose to go out on his own. Vlad was old enough to take care of himself. He was eleven, and he was trained by Asparuh Zhefarovich the third. That was one of the best things that he could learn from anyone. All he knew was that if someone tried to hurt him, he could defend himself. He was pretty tall so he seemed older than what he was really was. Eleven, going on twelve next year, Vlad had a lot of growing up to do, but he was so prideful and cold.

Walking along Obsidian Harbor, the Bulgarian boy looked about. He knew of his Russian heritage, but he knew that his mother was a bit of a fluke. She ran off with some guy, leaving his father distraught. Vlad was not very attached to her anymore after that. Instead he looked forward to the new woman that would be his step-mother in the future. Though with how many kids his father had, he had no idea if any woman would ever want to get tangled in that mess. He looked over to the side and he noticed that there was some sort of toy store. He would love to get something for his younger siblings, but then he remembered that kindness was definitely not the way to succeed. So therefore he continued walking. Then he looked back and saw Vulcan run inside and he rolled his eyes. He had better go get him. Vlad sighed and he opened the door and before he even closed it behind him, someone ran right into him. "Seriously Vulcan? Watch where you are going!" Vlad then looked down and saw it was some blonde girl about his age, and then he looked toward the back to see Vulcan laughing and then disappeared further inside of the store. The girl was apologizing though, and was saying how she did not see him there. Well, if one was running, definitely not. Vlad simply replied, "Oh. Well, if you were on your way out, help yourself." Vlad honestly did not know what to say to her. She was just some girl to him. Vlad did not know what else to say, or if he should bother introducing himself. Should he? Well, he would have to see what she was going to do first, before he initiated conversation. He had no idea how to socialize with others that were not in his family.

Belladonna arched an eyebrow when she heard the boy call her Vulcan. Belladonna had no idea who that was so she felt he had mistaken her for someone else. It didn't take him long to figure out that Bella wasn't this Vulcan person he wad referring to earlier, either. From the place she had fallen to on the ground, Belladonna easily noticed that the boy appeared to be very tall despite looking as young as he did. There was no way for her to tell exactly how old he was, but she guessed he was young because of how young he looked. Maybe he was her age, he was in a toy store after all. "Help myself to what?" Belladonna quickly pushed herself up off the floor and wiped the dirt from the back of pants and palms. Belladonna's pale blue eyes fixed themselves on the boy, where she was finally able to look him over. Even while she was standing, he was pretty tall. Not to mention there wasn't even an ounce of expression on his face, like one of those stoic guards in front of the Buckingham Palace. "Dude...you're in a toy store, why do you look so bored?" This was supposed to be lively and happy, and here this boy was like a giant rain cloud just hovering above, dampening the mood of anyone nearby. Sure Belladonna had her days where she was in a bad mood, but it never seemed to last long while she was inside a toy store. Maybe he was mad at that Vulcan person he had mistaken her for earlier and that's why he was so sour! Bell felt bad but it also wasn't really her problem either, especially since she didn't even know who this Vulcan person was.

Belladonna wasn't usually much of a talker unless she knew the person well enough, but she was a little bit worried that this boy might beat her up for being so careless and running into him. He actually didn't seem like he cared that much, but she still felt like she should say or do something to relieve the tension in the air, starting off by giving him some space. Belladonna had stepped back a few times to create some space, but failed to notice the display of toys right behind her. The display behind her made a sudden noise, and one by one the boxes fell from another and onto the floor. It only took a matter of seconds before the entire display was on the floor. Belladonna bit her lip and glanced at the boy. "Oops." Belladonna could hear some other kids laughing but the only thing she could focus on was whether or not she was going to get in trouble for making a mess in the store. "My dad's definitely not going to get me that tea set now. This sucks something fierce." Belladonna knew her dad wasn't going to be happy that she had made such a mess, even if it was nothing more than an accident. A frown deeply marred itself onto Belladonna's face. She leaned over and started to pick up the display pieces that fell closest to her and the boy. Belladonna turned to see that he was still standing there and sighed, this was example number one on how Belladonna severely failed at life sometimes.

Out of the corner of his eye, Vladimir was keeping an eye on his little brother as he went through things. He hated being one of the oldest, and had a bunch of little rugrats to lead. However he was being trained to become a future Head, which involved him to be home only on the weekend which this had to be. And he was stuck babysitting a future pyro. The girl pushed herself off of the floor and wiped the dirt off while she asked to help herself to what. He raised an eyebrow and wondered if communicating had managed to get askew since his training. Perhaps others were not as advanced as he was. Well, he didn't know a spell at all yet. So he was not advanced in magic. "Leaving. Help yourself out the door if you were headed in that direction." His tone seemed fairly bored, and he was hoping that she was not going to ask too many questions. He often received them like why he was so tall and why he had the look on his face that made it seem like something was dead in the room. Then one of the questions came, but this one did not bother him so much. He looked about the toy store and he answered in a softer tone, yet cold at the same time, "I did not grow up to enjoy such meaningless objects that will either break or gather dust in a few days." That much was true. He grew up on books and learning how to read and write, to prepare him for the world ahead. He also had to learn the ways of the Zhefarovich family, which took ages. He managed to learn them and he was ready to lead a family ahead. Not right now since he could not even cast Accio.

The young pure-blood barely noticed that the girl was taking a few steps from him, and once he did, he did not blame her. His whole stature could be rather intimidating. At least, that was what he was thinking anyhow. Vladimir then noticed that there was some display toys behind her, but words managed to not make it to his mouth and out before she bumped into them. His hand went to his head and wondered if this girl could trash up a place just by walking around. The entire display was knocked over, and one of the toys looked like it might be broken, but how would Vladimir know? He thought that the whole thing was nonsense. Vulcan was among the others laughing, but then Vladimir's look of disapproval shut him up. She mentioned that her dad would not get her that tea set now, and how it sucked. She did bump into him, and knock it over, so why in the world would he help her? Vladimir watched as she started to pick up the pieces, and he was relieved that the shopkeeper had yet to come. "Well, here comes a question. How would your dad know that it was you unless he saw it for himself? You can always pin it someone else to get what you want. Feel free to blame it on my brother in the back there." He gestured toward the other tall, slightly younger blond in the back. "It would do him some good to be punished and to settle down."

Belladonna deadpanned. The one person she had met that was her age, and he was sort of rude and stoic. If this was how her career at Hogwarts was going to go, then Belladonna suddenly didn't feel like going anymore. The blonde "It's uh....nice to see that chivalry still exists in today's youth." Belladonna hadn't expected him to help her up or anything, but she didn't like how rude he sounded when he told her that he could help herself out the door if she was leaving. It kind of showed that he didn't really care for the well-being of others. That was just Belladonna's assumption though. He could actually be a really good guy or something, just not around strangers. People were weird like that sometimes. Belladonna wasn't like that so much though, what people saw with her was usually what they got. Belladonna was fairly clumsy, impulsive, and always looking to make a friend or two. But not everyone was like that, and Belladonna knew this. "That sounds awful. Toys can be very meaningful...if you let them be. Not to mention if you take care of them properly." Belladonna just didn't understand. How could someone grow up without having toys in their life? Some kids might not have as much money which could make it harder for them to have a lot of toys, but this boy didn't look poor at all. In fact he made it sound as if he had been raised without toys on purpose. You should buy something today. Just so you can say that you did!" Bella gleamed, hoping to convince him into buying a toy. Even if it was just something silly like a yo-yo, it could mean the world to him since he seemingly didn't have anything like that during his childhood.

Even if he wouldn't buy anything for himself, Belladonna might just do it for him with the few spare galleons she had in her pocket. "My name's Belladonna, by the way!" She was tempted to ask if he was going to school already, but for some reason she just couldn't word her question right. He might not even tell her his name either, but Belladonna felt like telling him hers anyways. He looked like he couldn't care less if he made a new friend or not, but Belladonna didn't see the harm in trying to be friendly to him. Despite Belladonna's attempt to stack the toys back up, it felt like the pile was still as big as ever. Why did she have to be so freaking clumsy?! It took a few moments of stacking and finding a way to keep the tower steady, but Belladonna soon got a majority of the toys put back. Only a few more boxes remained when the boy suggested that she blame his brother for the mess. "That's mean." Belladonna had played the blame game before, but that was on someone she knew and lived with. "Besides...my dad can always tell when I'm lying anyways." Belladonna finished stacking up the last couple of boxes and turned back towards the boy. Luckily the shopkeeper hadn't noticed the mess she had made, and now it was all clean so it was like no one would ever know. Except for the boy she had just run into. Oh, and possibly his younger brother. Hopefully neither one of them would tell either, or Belladonna really wouldn't get that tea set. Unless her dad was very forgiving of her situation, Dietrich did a pretty good job at spoiling Belladonna a good majority of the time.

Vladimir raised an eyebrow at what she was saying there. Chivalry existed in today's youth? He never recalled an eleven-year-old knight in shining armor before. Then again, he played it like he believed in, which was everyone needed to help themselves. That was why he said to help herself out the door, if she was planning on leaving that is. "You are looking in the wrong place for chivalry. You might want to check the lane of where dreams don't exist." Sarcasm laced in his voice but the corner of his lips twisted up in a prideful smirk. With that statement hanging in the air, it would prove to Belladonna even more of what kind of child he was. Vladimir was raised in a very special manner, and those trainings were beaten into his brain. She sounded like every other kid he had met and he was getting bored with it. However the only entertaining thing about her was the fact that she could trip over air at any given moment. There had to be more. It was almost like hanging around with his younger siblings. He shrugged, "I prefer to read, so toys and whatnot are just meaningless possessions that hold no value to them at all. An idiot can make a toy, but a genius can write a good book." Unless one removed that one series that was popular decades ago that was just horrible writing. She suggested that he buy something which made him scoff, "Not going to happen. Vulcan was looking for something, not me. I'm just watching him." He watched as Vulcan got something out of the corner of his eye before walking up to the assistant. Vladimir had to keep an eye on him while in the store, but if he left, that was his dad's job.

The girl's name was Belladonna, and Vladimir looked down at her as he could place the name with the face. It was how he could remember who he met. "I am Vladimir." The introduction was short, and he did not bother saying his last name just yet. She had not said hers, so it was only appropriate. He was not familiar with many surnames, but right now he could not be bothered with trying to figure out what blood status she was. She then stated on how it was mean to blame his brother. Well, he was an easy target, so why not? Vladimir did not see the harm in it, or how mean it was. And then she said how her dad could tell when she was lying. "Never said it wasn't mean to begin with. Perhaps you need someone else to lie to your dad for you. Either that or learn how to really lie. If he can see past it, there must be some mannerisms that you are doing every time you lie." It was almost as if he was about to tutor her in the art of lying. He knew how to do it, but it was only necessary. His family had a law that one must not lie, but it was not one of those laws that was strictly enforced unless one lied to the family. Then it was enforced heavily. Vladimir was taught how to lie in case a situation turned up and he needed to learn to cover his tracks. It was one of the many heavy things a Head must learn how to do before attempting to rule the family.

Belladonna was officially under the impression that he was the offspring of a dementor. Why else would he say such a thing to her? At first, Belladonna hoped he would become a companion of hers since they looked to be around the same age, but now she was just creeped out. "Are your parents dementors?" Belladonna questioned, her eyebrow raising as the words left her pale lips. Belladonna didn't normally like to be rude by asking such questions, but as usual she didn't think before she allowed herself to speak. Hopefully it didn't come back to bite her later. If so, it wasn't like she couldn't handle herself. The next thing this boy uttered was enough to make Belladonna become even more convince that he was Part-Dementor and enjoyed nothing in life. Apparently he only liked to read. Nor did he seem to enjoy anything about life. "Just reading? How boring! Toys can be really fun, not to mention that promote creativity. Which I'm pretty sure you lack. For all you know, you'd like them more than books. If you'd just give them a try. Here-" Bella reached over into one of the buckets nearest to her and pulled out a deep ruby colored yo-yo. Without another word, she forcibly made the boy hold his hand out so he would take the small object. Then she held out a few galleons and went off to pay for the yo-yo quickly. Upon returning, she grinned. "There. I bought you a yo-yo. I'm not taking it back either so you might as well just keep it and learn to live a little." Even if he didn't really want it, Belladonna wasn't going to let him give it back. What he did with it when they parted away was up to him, Belladonna just felt like he needed something nice to hold onto.

"Are you going to Hogwarts, Vladimir?" Maybe if he was going to be attending soon, or he was already student, Belladonna would know someone other than her brother. It'd be nice to have a friend, even if she was convince that he was secretly a Dementor. When Belladonna got to Hogwarts, she wanted a lot of friends. Particularly because she really enjoyed being around others and having fun. "I don't know if I want to learn how to lie. Kind of seems like a bad habit to me. Getting someone else to lie for me doesn't like a good idea either. I don't want someone else to get in trouble. I used to blame my brother for stuff, but he's also my brother. I have to irritate him somehow. Would you lie to your dad?" Belladonna was fairly convinced that this boy just might if the situation called for it. He seemed like he was good at taking the time to think things out and make the most careful decision. It was that nothing that made Belladonna realize that this boy was most likely the complete opposite of her. He was quiet, serious, maybe even slightly cocky and boring. While Belladonna was loud and never knew when to keep her mouth shut. They were an atomic bomb. Oh well, Belladonna figured they could put aside their differences and be friends if he wanted to be. Maybe if she hung around, she could loosen him up and teach him how to have fun. Belladonna was excited to go to Hogwarts now, there was a good promise of friends in her future, and she hoped that she would make lots of them. Sadly, she had no idea what house she wanted to be in, let alone what house would be best for her.

When asked if his parents were dementors, Vladimir raised an eyebrow, and he retorted with, "Dementors don't breed humans, genius." He shrugged his shoulders and wondered if she was trying to insult him or something, since it obviously was not working at all. If she was trying to be sarcastic, it really was not working. Vladimir was not one of those that would take to that, but he was starting to come around. Vladimir spent a lot of time with some sarcastic people. Axel was one of the worst for the sarcastic attitudes, though his own father could be if he wanted to be. He made a face when she said that reading was boring, and how toys could apparently be fun. She spoke about how he lacked creativity and then forced him to hold a deep ruby colored yo-yo. He looked down at it, and he watched her buy it out of the corner of his eyes. He looked back at the girl and he pocketed the thing and then shrugged, "Fine, another thing to collect dust. Don't even know what the hell it is." Vladimir really did not know what it was, and thus did not think that he could use it for anything useful. However if it was just for fun, then he would not use it anyway. "Yeah apparently." He shrugged. "But I can teach you to lie for school, assuming you are going. And if I need to, I will lie to my dad if I need to be." Vladimir shrugged before he waved to Vulcan so that he could leave. He told Belladonna that he would see her later and he left the toy shop.
