Marzen couldn't believe the words he had heard coming out of one of his best friend's mouth. It had been a few weeks ago but the words had resonated around his mind until he came to the conclusion that Bryony hadn't seen the full perks of magic and it was his duty to show her all the wonderful things you could do with magic; a goal he'd taken on quite valiantly.

First he'd shown her that locked doors open miles easier with a simply wave of the wand, but that backfired on him when the charms professor caught him "breaking into" his office. It had taken him ages to try and explain to the man that he was just practicing magic, and honestly hadn't known whose office he'd been trying to unlock. The second time was at breakfast, Bryony was just about to stand up to grab a jar that was out of reach, so with quick thinking on his part, he'd whipped out his wand and summoned the jar closer. That had also backfired, spilling jam all over the two Hufflepuff's, but he'd also been able to simply clean that off with a spell, proving magic can be useful.

Bryony still hadn't looked fully impressed so here he was at the base of a large tree on the very outskirts of the forest, wand in hand, determined look on his face waiting for Bryony to come so he could show her what other wonderful things magic could do. He'd always been fascinated by magic, and took every opportunity to use it, and his next demonstration would be his best so far, he thought to himself. He had asked her to meet him here at the end of their last lesson, and he'd hoped she wouldn't forget or go inside to study first, a task Marzen's friends all seemed to think was "fun" and "necessary" but he'd insisted he wasn't going to be boring this year at Hogwarts, and judging from the past adventures with Bryony, he felt he'd been succeeding so far.

Bryony couldn't believe that she had made it to her third year and that she actually decided to come back. She was so close to staying at home but the pull of her friends made her want to go back and the fact that she hated leaving things unfinished. She decided that this new year could perhaps be a new start with her attitude to magic and she wouldn't fight her friends so hard when they tried to show her the benefits of it and that started with accompanying one of her best friends, Marzen around the castle with very different outcomes and successes.

This time, Marzen had asked Bryony to meet him by the forest after their last lesson and she had agreed, albeit a little reluctantly. She grabbed her things at the end of the class and walked towards the Forest and Marzen was already there waiting for her. "Hey, Marz!" she said, waving at her friend. "Why did you want to meet me here?" she asked him, knowing full well that he had an interesting and fun adventure up his sleeve for the two of them.

Marzen waited a few impatient moments as Bry walked across the lawns towards him, waving back at her. He smiled knowingly when she asked why he'd brought her here, and he pointed at a large tree directly behind him. He grinned at her and took on the voice of an advertiser, deep and comical as he walked towards the tree. "Do you ever get scared when climbing trees?" He looked up into the lower branches confidence seeping off his body, "Do you ever wonder what it's like to fall but scared you'll break your leg?"

He faked a nonchalant laugh, as if that was the silliest thing he'd ever heard. "Well now you don't have to! With the wonders of magic, you now have a spell that will make you light as a feather and you can jump from any tree, without hurting yourself one bit! Watch as my lovely assistant me demonstrates!"

He gave a cursory glance to Bryony and started to scale the tree, his short arms and legs barely reaching the lowest branches, and he silently cursed being really short, being five foot four and having his younger sister and most of his friends already taller than him was a real challenge, especially in moments such as this; climbing a tree to prove magic is useful.
