For Pia, motherhood was simultaneously a difficult journey and everything she could have ever wished for. The path of motherhood expectedly had its ups and downs, and was even jittery at best at times as she tried to navigate her life that would in every way ever be the same, and one where she was inevitably drained and at times a little delirious, especially when she had a career that required her to be present and alert with little to no sleep. But in spite of the difficulties, it was a path and progress in her life Pia found endlessly rewarding and one she wouldn't trade for anything. Seeing Mickey grow, learn, smile and giggle as he experienced the world for the first time in every way made the bumps and downs of her journey worth any of the struggles, and she knew her hard work was entirely worth seeing her son happy. As he grew up enough to walk and begin talking she even began to notice his personality develop and Pia had of course found herself feeling nothing other than proud of him, wanting to encourage him to make friends to allow him to blossom further into the person he was destined to be.
This among many other reasons was why Pia had organized to meet with Kylie that afternoon at their local park. So Mickey could of course meet with other children and make the friends he deserved, but also for opportunity or Pia to spend time reconnecting with her once best friend. The years since they had been close had felt like centuries but at the same time when she had run into Kylie again at St Mungo's it was as if they had only seen each other the day before. Though they were now both mothers and navigating the world as they grew up and found their futures, Pia thought there was no better time to regain the friendship they once had than when their children were young, so they could hopefully pass on their friendship and in turn rediscover the closeness they had shared. Mickey was a couple of years younger than Kylie's youngest but even at the age of 3 he had no trouble interacting and playing with his older cousins and his fated friend Dash, so Pia knew this afternoon would be one he would greatly enjoy. Sitting on a picnic blanket in the shade of a tree, Pia was currently stacking blocks with her son in an attempt to build an imaginary city, gently asking Mickey what each building was for as Mickey alternated between building and moving his toy cars nearby to envision the city traffic. They had over the course of half an hour built their own tranquil little world she was sure Mickey would love to show off once Kylie and her children arrived to join them, a world that Pia hoped would be enough to bridge any initial shyness the children had so they could begin playing together.
