Skyler hated when her family did that, trying to settle down all those important relations to people. Especially from Asia. About that Skyler immediately felt like wtf? Her parents moved away from Asia, more specifically, South Korea before even the oldest Kira was born, all kids had lived in America their whole life and just now, they moved to New Zealand and somehow they decided that they so desperately needed to give the youngest ones a play date while they're "the adult stuff", she really hated that stuff. But she was raised better than that, of course she was gonna do the best she could either way. She dressed up nicely, took care of everything she could and while waiting, just fully laid on the sofa, covered her eyes with hands and waited, while also trying not to fall asleep. Who were those Oikawa's anyway? Why did they care about their family enough to accept the invitation anyway?

All her napping ended when she heard a door bell ringing and she stood up and just followed her parents patiently. Hopefully her sister wasn't going to mess up, thanks God that Skyler's oldest siblings were away, she could take the charge of everything, not trying to bother. And as her parents let in their guests, Skyler just patiently stood and smiled at them warmly, knowing how to handle the 'playdate' that their parents had set up for them, just letting all familiarities go first.

Toby was still absolutely seething over the fact his parents had just decided to pull up everything and move to New Zealand of all places. Why here? There was nothing of interest here. Just too much sun for anyone's liking that was for sure. And that wasn't even getting started on the fact he was now having to take extra English lessons so he could actually communicate properly with anyone. At least some things never changed. Like his parents constantly trying to up their own social standing by making as many high ranking connections with families as they could. And since moving to a new country, they were working overtime in that department. And this time, they had decided to drag Toby with them.

"They have a daughter your age," they had told him, but frankly, Toby couldn't really care less. He didn't see the point in this meeting. This supposed playdate was just to give his parents an excuse to try and kiss up to another family and make another 'important' connection. But of course he didn't complain, he just smiled politely and did what he was told. And the polite smile as still on his face as he stood there next to his parents as they introduced themselves, offering a short bow to the other family. "Thank you for inviting us." He wasn't thankful in the slightest, but he was quite sure his Mother would clip his ear if he wasn't at least polite to their guests within earshot.

Skyler didn't like how it was really going, she didn't enjoy this type of meetings. Especially if they had kids Skyler's age, she preferred to have her own friends and, of course, she wanted to have good friends that are in higher class but not her parents friends. But she decided to maybe try and at least communicate this time. But when the boy spoke up, she almost chuckled but kept it back and decided to make her getaway. When all the formalities were done, she approached Tobio and gave him a short smile. "They will make a business talk for about an hour while dinner is getting finished, so they have time and then have a hot dishes. Do you want to have a tour around the house in the meanwhile?" Skyler easily spoke up while having her polite face on. She knew what to do but she wanted to test his limits or see where he stood before throwing formality off.

Even though he was stood there with a polite smile, his gaze was still judgemental, looking the girl in front of him up and down multiple times to try and get an impression. He didn't have time for idiots, even if they were from a family his parents seemed to care about. Though he wasn't getting the impression that she was one of these idiots, pressing his lips together slightly as she approached him once their parents had moved off already in deep discussions. He had been dragged on this 'family outing' to meet this girl, so she supposed he should at least try and make the effort to get to know her. Even if he would much rather be at home right about now. "I'd love a tour," he responded smoothly, trying to put on his best smile polite smile.

Skyler remained polite too, she did want to make a face as he continued with his polite voice. "Awesome," she agreed and let him go in front of her. "What are your desires - would you want to see our library first or maybe kitchen? There are snacks, we could grab them before continuing?" She offered him two options, letting him decide. She made the choice and let him finalize it. She decided against introducing herself less formally since she already knew his name and didn't want to repeat it.

Though he had been born and raised to have proper manners, he did quite hate having to put up with pleasantries. He'd much rather just speak how he wanted to and not have to tiptoe around being polite and nice all of the time. Then again, his parents weren't around to hear him right now so maybe he could get away with it. Then again, he didn't know this girl and didn't know if she was going to tell on him for his bad behaviour. So, being nice it was for the time being. Both those options sounded incredibly dull, but he wasn't going to say that, keeping a neutral expression. "The kitchen sounds good." At least that had the promise of food.
