Syrah had brought the trio to the park for a little family picnic. Seeing as all three of her kids had received their letters she just wanted to soak up every bit of time she had with them before they went off to school. She had always been proud of the individuals each of her kids were but something about seeing them get their letters had struck a different nerve. She was equally terrified and excited for them and couldn't wait to see what they made of themselves and hear all about their times at school. "Alright kids pick a spot and set the blanket down." The former Ravenclaw instructed, motioning at the plenty of free space around. She had let each of her kids pick one snack to bring with them and one drink, just to make sure each got what they wanted and she had made sure to bring enough so that there was no chance of a fight breaking out because someone decided they wanted their siblings snack instead.

Rosé could have quite happily spent everyday at the park. Today she was wearing her trainers that flashed every time she took a step in them, and so as she made her way onto the grass her head was bent low, not wanting to miss it. The blonde took charge of the blanket, shaking it out as much as she could although she wasn't quite tall enough to stop it draping on the floor, and followed her siblings lead.

If there was an award for who had the biggest stick, Blanc would have won, easily. Not even the dogs could carry a log as impressive as his own! He was currently using it as a walking stick to help him complete his hike to the park, "Can I have my drink yet?" It had been a long walk from the car and he was more than ready for his snack, too. He began poking at the blanket with his big stick, hoping Rosé would put it on the floor quickly so they could eat.

"Just put it here!" Rouge flapped a hand in front of her, before grabbing the other corner of the blanket and helping her sister lay it out flat on the ground. The brunette would have happily sat on the dirt, but apparently that wasn't good enough for mum who never seemed impressed at a grass stain. "I don't want my drink yet, I want to go on the swings," she said, very matter-of-fact.

Syrah watched her kids worked somewhat in unison to put the blanket down, she smiled broadly at each of them. "Yeah of course you can, fruit punch yeah?" She said pulling out the bottle and handing it to Blanc. "Just be careful honey!" Syrah called after Rouge before settling down on the blanket herself. She adjusted her silk skirt and took off her shoes, as to not get dirt on the blanket. "You guys excited for school to start?" The brunette asked while taking out the various snacks and placing them neatly on the blanket.

Ro did not have to be told twice. The moment mama told her to be careful, she darted in the other direction toward the swings. She didn't hang around to see her siblings or mama sit on the blanket, and instead sought out her own goal. Unfortunately there was already a group of much much older children hanging out on the swings, so very cautiously, Ro put her hands behind her back and gave them the most friendly smile she could. "Hello."

Group is NPCs

Blanc waited for mama to hand him his drink, before taking it so eagerly that he immediately squeezed it too hard that it shot out the straw and down his clean shirt. "School? No." It was an instinct reaction. Then he remembered he was actually going to a magical school, and not the secondary he'd been trying to avoid for the last four years. The ones where stinky students would often linger around outside and look at you funny. He had to wonder if Hogwarts would have stinky people too. "I don't know, maybe."

Ro was the only one of her siblings to actually take a seat beside their mama, taking off her shoes too to make sure she would comfortable. She also wasted no time in pulling her brother down, watching as he collapsed in a heap in front of them. Honestly if he had just sat down in the first place it would have been easier for everyone. "I think school is going to very fun," she looked up to smile at mama, wondering if she'd want to hear about all of their adventures.

Syrah kept one eye on Rouge who just ran off as per usual and one on the other two. Rosè much to her usual style seemed the most responsible, pulling her brother down, who in turn grabbed his juice a little too tight and no sooner did the former Ravenclaw see his lovely just washed shirt get splashed with the slightly tinted juice and then fall down in a heap. At the same time she saw one of her daughters approach a group of older kids by the swings who looked quite suspicious in her opinion. Taking in one single deep breath Syrah took out her wand after her song got up and cast a quick Scourgify his way before smiling down at the two, "Alright you two stay here, I'll be right back." She said before putting her shoes back on and darting towards the daughter currently being glared at by teenagers. "Honey, how about you come sit with us? You can go to the swings later or we can come another day." Syrah said as she reached Rouge and gave the teens a sharp look that could only be described as I dare you to try her. She did not like the glares on the bunch the least bit.

Ro let out a silent sigh as she followed mama's direction and looked out to see her sister engaging with a bunch of adults. She didn't really know why they were in a park, didn't they have jobs to go to? Were they even old enough to have jobs? Would people at Hogwarts steal the swings too? Did Hogwarts even have swings? She had to imagine that magical swings would have been extra fun. Ro helped to distribute the snacks into four equal piles, mainly so that Blanc wouldn't try to steal all the best bits for himself.

It was so weird that none of these people wanted to chat to her! A few of them grunted, a couple sniggered, but not a single one gave her a hello in return. She could tell in her peripheral vision that mama was on her way over, which mean she didn't have long. Didn't she want her to make new friends? "Mummy!" Ro didn't have much time to argue, "Mama!" She was embarrassing her in front of her new friends, although she daren't say that. She wouldn't want mama to feel bad. "You said I could as long as I was careful!" And she was being careful.

As Blanc's behind met the blanket, he was quite sure he'd managed to land on the stick he'd been carrying. Mama may have cleaned his shirt, but it wouldn't help the welt that was now brewing on his ass cheek. He did his best to ignore it and the wells pooling in his eyes, concentrating instead on the food that Ro was laying out in front of him.

Syrah calmly took her daughters hand and smiled down on her, she was too friendly for her own good at times bless her little heart. "I don't think these teens want to give up swings." She spoke gently, keeping her eyes on the increasingly more annoyed looking teens. "Yeah just run along little chicken." A boy in the group muttered and all the brunette did was narrow her brown eyes in warning, she didn't want her daughter insulted for trying to make friends. "Alright Rouge time for us to go, the drinks will get warm otherwise." Syrah said calmly taking the girl with her towards her siblings. As soon as she got back to the picnic blanket another issue presented itself, for now her son had tears in his eyes and seemed awfully uncomfortable. Furrowing her brows in concern Syrah lowered herself onto the blanket again and aimed her question to her son. "Blanc you alright there sweetie?" The worry seeped through her tone, but she gave an appreciative smile toward Rosé who no doubt was behind the neatly and fairly divided snacks on four paper plates.

Rouge was ready to fight to stay with her new friends, but between the glares they were doing to her mom and her mom was doing to them, the brunette decided to stay quiet. There may have been something else going on here, and her mom's warning was apparent. As they were headed back to the blanket, Rouge let go of her hand, running the remainder of the way back to her siblings and diving to her knees once she arrived.

Ro didn't like the fact that Blanc was sitting on the blanket with his shoes on, even though he was only on it in the first place because she'd put him there. She didn't really understand why boys had to be so messy, not that her sister was much better. As momma came back over, she gave her a wide toothy smile, shifting over a little to make sure she had room to sit down. "We waited for you," she announced, sat up straight proudly.

Blanc didn't bother wiping away the tears in his eyes, so much as he did his best to distract himself with the food that had appeared in front of him. "Yeah," he said to his mom as she returned, not looking up from the pair of them. "Is there another drink?" he asked. Afterall, the first one had gone straight down his shirt.

Syrah glanced down at Rosé who announced they'd waited for them. "Thank you honey, very polite." She said with a smile leaning to press a kiss on the top of her head. She eyed Blanc with concern before tucking it in the back of her mind to check up on him later, when it was just the two of them. "Yup, lucky for you I brought extras juuust in case!" The brunette gave the trio a big grin as she reached for the bag and pulled out another juice box and offering it up to her son. "Alright, Rogue I was just asking your siblings how they felt about starting school. How do you feel?" Syrah asked while taking a sip of her own water. "Oh by the way I expect you to write to me, or at the very least inform me of your houses if nothing else. You'll have plenty of time to update me during the breaks I suppose." She mentioned to them, though she'd love to read all about their adventures as they had them but remembered from her own time how difficult it was to remember to write back home.
