The sun set, which set the mood perfectly for such a grand day. Vulcan had proposed to Esme a couple of years ago, and finally, he would set the date with her, and today was finally the day. The setting was quiet, small and just private and away from the society. Sadly, the one that was legal to marry them would only do it at night. Vulcan was not a fan of it, but as he finished casting the spells to repel the muggles and those that were not invited, Vulcan needed to finish getting ready. He walked into the rental house in order to get into his dress robes, considering that they were all wizards and witches. The crowd that was allowed in were none other than their families. It was combining the Lancaster's with the Zhefarovich's, which could spell disaster with how dark the families were. Vulcan was not in the dark about how things were in the families. Vulcan finished getting dressed and went back to the front where he would wait for his bride. Vulcan looked to the seats where it had his family. His siblings that were able to come, his parents which were not exactly on speaking terms, and his step parents. It was quite interesting.

Vulcan looked to Hades before he hissed, "This isn't a dark wedding. Keep it simple. Short and sweet." Vulcan did not want to sound like he was bossing the man around, but in a way, he was. Hades bent down and hissed back, "Don't tempt me to decorate the woods here with your blood, kid." Vulcan shook his head and looked to his dad who shrugged his shoulders. It seemed like the one that would be marrying them, was not very happy. Vulcan cleared his throat, and waited for his bride to come walking down. Knowing her, she probably saw the ceremony already, which is good and all, but could be annoying when he was trying to surprise her with the decor.

As a young girl, Esmé had never really given much thought to what her future wedding would be like. She had never imagined huge gowns and a picture perfect scene, or hundreds of guests coming to spectate the event. In fact, she'd barely considered herself ever having one to begin with, content with being on her own and living her life with her terms, not having to be concerned about anyone else and what they wanted. Now here she was, about to be married to one of the few people she genuinely cared about, and one of the fewer still who she loved. He'd been by her side through the last few years, and became someone she could trust and depend on above anyone else, even if she didn't always agree with his family and their choices, quite, she found them to be unreasonable and prone to overreacting over trivialities, her soon-to-be husband was different, and she could tolerate the Zhefarovichs to be with him. Besides, she had the literal foresight to secure her future and ensure that they didn't pose a threat to her life.

Stepping onto aisle, dressed in a flowing gown of white and black, Esmé felt the familiar sense of déjà vu as she looked around at the scene before her, which was of course beautiful, but in the time leading up to her big day, she'd dreamed of it in vivid detail, and now merely re-experienced those details. This time was different however. She was physically there, it was all happening in real time, and there was a certain sense of finality this time. It was finally happening. As she walked, petals of red and orange fell around her like burning embers, conjured up by Emeric, her cousin who had insisted he be her flower-boy for the celebration, and she'd relented if only to stop him pestering her further about it. She at least appreciated the enthusiasm. Continuing, her eyes fell over those gathered, her family, Vulcan's family, and the select few friends she had. A single reserved seat at the front remained empty. Esmé didn't know too much about the afterlife, but she knew that a wizard's soul could remain in some form after death, and in a small way, she felt like Avie was still present.

Finally, and most importantly, there was Vulcan, looking handsome in his formal robes, and she flashed him a smile as she reached the front of the aisle, taking her place across from him for the ceremony to begin. Hades may not have been the most desirable choice to wed them, but there was little other option of people she could trust to conduct it properly.

The moment that Vulcan saw his future wife, it was almost like he was seeing her again for the first time. Her hair, elegant, her face was extravagant, her dress was beyond compare. Black and white, definitely Esme. Vulcan held his hand out for hers, so that Hades can conduct the ceremony, which honestly, Vulcan hoped that Hades would stick to the tradition. After all, he did not feel like being cut with daggers and sacrificing virgins tonight, so to speak. Vulcan listened as Hades spoke, before Vulcan turned his silver eyes back to his wife. Well, future wife. Within seconds, he would be married to her, so might as well get used to the term. Vulcan listened to Hades before he looked back at the priest with absolute dismay. Hades started the ceremony with, "So, here we have Vulcan and Esme. Do you take each other to be husband and wife?" Vulcan could not believe the man. No vows, no sweet ceremony, nothing? Just skipping right to the two words that would bind them forever? So much for trusting Hades to keep this the way he envisioned it. Though, Esme might have known that Hades would have pulled such a stunt.

Vulcan turned his attention back to Esme before he smiled, "I do, for all eternity." All he wanted was to seal it with a kiss, but he couldn't, not yet. He needed her to say the words, the ones he dreamed about since he proposed to her a while back. He wanted to spend all eternity together, from raising children, to rotting together side by side. It was all nothing short of romantic, and he wanted that in his life, with only Esme. She was his world, and there was no denying it. He wished nothing but the best for her.
