The bare throng of trees loomed ahead of Milena as she walked up to the skirts of the Forbidden Forest. She scanned the tree tops for a glimpse of the thing she had spotted that saturday morning.A dark thing swooping just above the tree tops. The way it moved was graceful and fluid, and there was something about it's skin that seemed... leathery. Like bat wings. But it was much too large to be a bat. She had been intrigued by this peculiar creature. But the sky above the trees was nothing more than that; sky. A white winter sky. The kind of sky you got after a fresh snow fall. A thin layer of white blanketed the ground, although snow was not the only thing there. Unfortunately for Milena, ice was also equally distributed there, and ice and the snake were not on friendly terms. Ice was quite fond of causing her to slip when she least expected it. Though she was indeed use to the old gloomy weather, it just made sense that somehow she missed home. Milena just returned to Hogwarts after her trip in Germany with her mother, she thought it would be best to just wander around the empty castle for a while. In the end her feet lead her outside and into the Forbidden forest.

Excitement and curiosity lit up the blonde's face at the prospect of entering the vast expanse of trees. Of course, she was nervous too, because the forest wouldn't be forbidden without reason, but being the curious Milena she was, had to know exactly their motives behind making it out of bounds. If it were so dangerous, couldn't they have just eliminated the dangers? They were magical, after all. But it had occurred to her that maybe the danger of the forest was far too grave to eliminate so easily. But still, Milena didn't quite understand. If they really wanted to keep up such curious students as her, why didn't they put in a fence? She shook her head at their stupidity. Some people thirsted for adventure. It was apparent that some people would go in, forbidden or not. But she was grateful for their stupidity, because if there was a fence and there was no way to get around it, that would ruin the fun. She would die wondering what was really beyond those sinister branches.

James rarely saw anything quite so beautiful as Hogwarts in the midst of snow day. He had arisen early that morning as he usually did and headed into the Slytherin common room hoping to find one of his fellow early risers sitting on the very sofas where they met just last year. However her absence from the common room made James turn on his heel and return to the dormitory where he changed into sweatpants and a hoodie, common muggle workout clothes, and headed outside into the bitter cold grounds. The air was thin and harsh as he breathed in, it was just the way he liked it. He adjusted his hoodie to make sure he stayed warm and walked off the path onto the lawn that headed down to the forest, the thick snow layers crunched beneath his feet and he felt like he was back home in the winter. This was a feeling he rarely got from Hogwarts.

The air was still, the only sounds he could hear was that of the bird flying above and the occasional unrecognizable sound coming from the forest. He was alone. At least that' what he thought. At first it was just something he saw in the corner of his eye, a gleam. He didn't know what it was at first and he would have dismissed it had he not seen it again. He knew the gleam, it was morning sunlight bouncing off blonde hair. It seemed like an odd thing to be able to recognize of the top of his head but it defiantly made identifying the person easier. Knowing who was in the forest he had to go in, forbidden or not, running into her was the only reason he had come out here rather than gone back to bed.

Morning aside as he entered the forest it became noticeably darker, the tops of the trees shielded the ground from sunlight and James had to go on little shrieks of light that broke through the gaps between branches. As James entered the forest he just hoped he would find her before whatever was in the forest found him.

The weather was cold and chilly, fog covered the whole forest which made it harder to see what was in it. Though the snake didn't cared and continued on wandering the forest, she knew her limitations and was ready to follow it if ever it reprimanded her. It wasn't that dark nor was it early to begin with, but Milena was sure she was just here to visit the known forest. Her legs began to shiver as the wind blew it's might upon her, unknowingly it reached to her feet. It was weird of her to be wearing heels when she's here in forest with full of dirt, Milena didn't really cared. It was a practice she needed after all, she needed to practice wearing heels almost everyday as she could. As a start for her soon career or something like that, beside she was used to any shoes by now. The blonde stopped walking and leaned herself by a nearby tree, it looked old. Every tree looked old, twigs and rotten leaves scattered around the ground. "What am I really doing here?" she mumbled to herself staring at the sky above her. It looked just like the same it was minutes ago, clouds covering the blue sky and a ray of sunlight hiding beneath it.

For a gloomy weather like this the snake wore pink glasses, perhaps just to complete her style. She believed that eyes were a passage to a mans soul, which she would close it every time Milena would meet a nice person. It was a way to hide her energy, but it was also a way to just meditate and hear the cursing words of the wind. So the Slytherin closed her eyes, hearing every creatures passing by. The crisp leaves rumbling its way against her, she liked it..Milena liked the gloomy weather. As she was conserving her energy, holding her own with closed eyes. She suddenly heard footsteps, it was rather approaching her at some point. It may be a centaur or anything like that, but it looks like a students messing around the forest. She didn't mind company at all, it was a free country after all. At least that was what she thought in her own mind, as the stranger was fast approaching Milena crossed her arms and stated a word before something happens. "Speak." the blonde stated addressing the stranger and awaiting for his or her reply.

James had no walked half way into the thick of the forest without turning back and would no doubt have trouble navigating his way back. He know had to find the cause of the gleam, she was his only way to get out of the forest. Plus he really wanted to see her. James didn't really know if he was going in the right direction, he wasn't following a few paces behind and he wasn't getting a shining light every now and again to show him the way, he was flying blind and for all he knew he and Milena could on separate ends of the forest. That's when he heard it, her voice. He knew he was close to her now. Speak Her commanding voice rattled some of the nearby branches, James had a feeling that when she spoke like that to some people it would unnerve them, but not him. There was something he liked about it. "Milena?" He repeated knowing it was the sound of her name that caught her attention before, "It's James," He added and paused. He know had to wait and see how long it would take for the name James to ring a bell.

There was some part of Milena that wanted to be alone, but she knew very well that won't happen around her. It was like being alone in a crowded and place and someone would hit you somewhere no matter what, being a loner had it's pros and cons. But this wasn't the right time to even think of that matter, instead she grabbed her wand out and prepared for what was coming for her. Milena blinked her eyes and for a couple minutes she heard someone, it came from a familiar voice. And knowing she had many haters, Milena at first didn't respond at first. There were too many complication of her life, first was her dad and second was mostly school. Not that she complained of having such problems, after all she was the girl who suffered inside. She gave big sigh when she heard another word, it was a name actually. A name she heard months ago, "James." she muttered in disbelief. At first Milena didn't knew what to reply, there wasn't anything to say really. She was cold-hearted and well that explains everything, the snake didn't replied and shook her head. The sixth year continued to stood and lean nearby a tree, she didn't wanted her designer clothes to get some dirt.

James wasn't surprised when Milena didn't respond. She had hardly been the most talkative person he'd ever met but that was one of the things that attracted him to her. She was a tough nut to crack and that's what made her different to himself, James was warm, bubbly, sarcastic and wore his heart on his sleeve. Milena was emotionally with-drawn, cold and liked to be alone. James knew he didn't stand much chance of reeling her in but he liked the challenge. Girls like Milena made life interesting. James finally broke free of the binding branches and made it into a small clearing where he found Milena leaning against a tree. She looked stunning, she remained to this day one of the most mysterious and most beautiful girls he had ever met. "Dare I even ask what you're doing in the middle of the forest?" He asked not sure if he should expect an answer or not.

Milena gave a big sigh, she was getting somewhat bored just hearing words that came from another person. Especially from a boy, a boy named James that she hardly knew. She knew he was a nice boy and for that she didn't deserve him to be anything at all. Which was why Milena was going for some bad boys around the school, she felt that it would let her true colors shine for a change. There were so many things the blonde regret, like not even trying to find a friend. Just one that would perhaps understand her and would make a change into her life. But the damage had been done and it was all too late for that, as she was still enjoying her alone time and was quite rudely interrupted by James she heard a question from him. "Dare if I say, mind you own business." she hissed quite annoyed. She wasn't the friendliest person on earth nor was she the nicest among the bunch of snake. Milena was just hopeless when it comes to communicating with other people, including boys like James.

When Milena opened her mouth to respond to James question, James already wished she would have continued to ignore him. He had now officially come all the way into the forest to talk to a girl that didn't want to talk to him. "Well its good to see you too," He had no choice but to throw sarcasm in back at her. He felt like such an idiot for being out here. He still couldn't help but look at her and notice how beautiful she was as she leaned against the tree. No matter what she said to him nothing would change how he felt when he looked at her and in general how he felt about her. He just wished she didn't look at him and see a nuisance that she just wanted to get rid off. "Well if you want to wallow in the middle of the forest what the hell do I care," He added and turned his back on her to leave.

The wind continued to rush through her body ,feeling her energy revitalize. Milena wondered how long would she stay here, as she was somehow getting bored for some reason. She heard the sarcasm in James words and knew he was looking at her. The snake didn't bother to even look at him, as she knew it would kind of lead him on. She slowly opened her emerald eyes and saw some more leaves started to surround her. Some were even on her shoulder, she brushed them off watching them land on the dirt. Her should were even getting dirty, though she really didn't cared as it would be easy to wipe off. Milena heard James speak once more, knowing he had enough. As she heard him, the blonde watched him turn his back at her. "Bye." she said, continuing to watch him leave. She was used to people leaving her, just like her father, friends and mostly everyone she treasured. But not her mother and grandmother, not her family as they were the only ones left. The reason why she never welcomed new friends, she didn't wanted to be rejected. Not now and never.

]James didn't turn back when Milena spoke he just stood still wondering if he should really leave or not. James was about to turn back to face Milena when he decided to maintain whatever pride he had left and he walked out of the clearing, he had hoped that she would have warmed to him a little more since their last meeting. In face she seemed to have turned completely against him since that morning in the common room. "I won't bother you again," He muttered on his way out. James pulled out his wand and began separating branches to clear a path out of the forest, he felt like he had wasted his morning. He could have gone back to bed and got a couple more hours sleep. Rather than let his mind wonder to his four poster bed he looked forward to the day ahead and prayed that something in it would cheer him up. He continued to wave his wand until he saw the light of day, placed his wand in his pocket and walked up toward the castle.
