His eyes narrowed against the glare of the midday sun. Sumner palmed the broom he'd had to borrow from the school's supply and walked across the Quidditch Pitch. Initially he'd been surprised to find noone there but attributed it to the fact that classes were in session. Sumner was restless at this new school. He'd spotted a few acquaintances around the halls but he had no friends here. He flung a long leg over the broom and kicked off high into the air.

He wondered what his brother Avery was doing. He'd like it here, he thought, his grey blue eyes gazing out over the snow covered grounds. The old broom steered slightly to the left. Avery had crashed his into a tree back home. Their parents had been livid. Not that Avery could have been hurt. His father had scowled and rubbed at his balding head. His mum had knocked back another sherry. They'd both given Avery a set down about wasting money for breaking his brother's broom. Sumner had spied the desolate look on Avery's face and had stepped forward. Coldly he'd put the blame entirely on his own shoulders. Taken aback, his parents had had no other course but to punish him instead. His allowance cut off until it paid for the cost of the old broom before he could think of getting a new one.

Nosediving then looping through the giant Quidditch hoops, figure eight through the air, then steered the broom to fly around the pitch. His sibling may take harsh treatment from his older brother but Sumner never let anyone else bully him. It was an odd relationship. He knew Avery didn't understand Sumner's behavior toward him. He wanted him tough. It'd started when Sumner had turned eleven and received his letter of admission from Hogwarts in Scotland. The first holiday back home had found him places impossible bets and even worse dares on his little brothers little head. He knew Avery wanted to impress him. He'd taken anything his brother could dish out.

Now they were at odd with each other. Sumner would be fifteen soon, Avery would get his letter and be away from their parents. Maybe then they could go back to their old, easy relationship. Until then he'd push him to his limits.

The glint of light off one of the steel hoops flashed, drawing him out of his thoughts.

Zazuka was not in class. It one time that she was happy she hadn't taken all the electives. She had decided to skip Muggle Studies. She had spent all her life with Muggles and as far as she knew she was Muggle Born she didn't need to know more about them. Even if she was curiose to see what was a wizards point of view on none magic people. Zazuka was hovering on her used Firebolt. A gift from Professor Ana. She really should be seeing her soon. Her head was starting to hurt a lot and sometimes she was risponding to things that people where not saying.

This ablity of her's was getting more annoying by the day. It was going to dive her crazy she knew it. Zazuka shifted on her broom, her Divinations book was being held up by magic. There was nothing quite like hovering and reading at the same time. She liked the phisical feeling of being in the air. She normally felt that way in her head so why shouldn't she be in the clouds on her own from time to time. Zazuka fixed her glasses and turned the page which was talking about crystal ball divination. Zazuka shook her head. This was not what she was expirancing. She didn't want to become a foretunteller she just wanted to know how to get rid of the chilled feelings she got when ever she got near the Herbology Professor.

Zazuka let her eyes and mind wonder of her book which she put down near her other things with a flick of her wand. She made her broom go up higher. She was going to enjoy some the nearly empty Quidditch Pitch. She said nearly empty because there was boy here. One she had never seen before. Zazuka had noticed him out of the corner of her eye but hadn't bothered to stop reading. Tt seemed like there where Tranfers and people coming back all the time. Zazuka watched him with her hands crossed infront of her broom now. "You are really very good." She finally said from her lounging position on her broom. Her voice was as dreamy as her sprakaing black eyes though she never seemed to miss a thing. She smiled brightly just incase the boy would turn and see her there.

Sumner spotted a girl reading not too far off. He pushed himself faster, turned and rolled and looped. Finally he stalled his broom and hovered nearby. Her words reached his ears barely. He grinned and flew his broom closer. "Thanks." He flicked his eyes over her, enjoyed the sight that met him from her dark hair to her equally dark eyes. "I'm Sumner," he nodded, liking her friendly greeting. He had met a few students here yet none he could call a friend. "What were you reading?"

Zazuka looked down down at the book and sighed. "A book about how to read into a crystal ball. Silly really, not something that a Ravenclaw would normally read but I need the research." She said kindly. Zazuka shook her head. "Enough about that. I'm Zazuka Bones Prefect for Ravenclaw. Your new arn't you?" She said with a soft smile. It wasn't an insult. She liked to talk to the new students. The new Ravenclaws the best. It seemed like each one was a new hope for them to win the House cup. Zazuka's eyes passes over him and her smile grew wider. He would be snatched up quickly that was for sure. She shook her head. It was a sad truth that there where never enough guys at HNZ.

"Nothing wrong with expanding your horizons," he smiled. "Hullo Zazuka," he mock bowed on his broom. "Sumner Reine, fourth year Ravenclaw and becoming less distressed about the move each new face I meet here." A gust of wind rocked his broom. "It's strange," he said quietly, "starting somewhere new."

Zazuka laughed into her hand. "It's not that I don't want to read it it's just that most Ravenclaw I know are far to logical to take things like this siriuosly. I'm one of the few that do." She said looking up at the sky above her. Zazuka thought that even if she didn't had the ablities that she was growing she would still believe in things like Seeing though she wouldn't be looking so much into it. "Always is. Especially if you come from a small town like I did. It gets better though. Everyone is nice here though. Especially to boys." She said then made her broom go over next to Sumner. "Would you like to fly around, it seems the wind is getting a little too harsh to just hover here." She said her smile as gentle as ever.

Sumner laughed. The wind ripped around him and he swore the air carried a charge of electricity. It affected his mood and brought out the Quidditch beast in him. He checked himself before he zoomed off. "Ladies first,"he nodded his head, grinning.

Zazuka leaned forward on her broom which made it glide gently forward. This was to start with. Zazuka was a natural flyer but she did had a bit of trouble with speed. Too fast, too soon and Zazuka would start feeling dizzy. A lot of things seemed to be making her dizzy lately but right now she was ok. "Are you a quidditch player?" She asked. Most boys she knew where into Quidditch and she wouldn't lie she was a little into it as well. She loved to watch but thought herself to gentile to actually play.
