Emilia had been fairly successful in appearing more confident than she was, and she was proud of that. She hoped that soon, it would start to actually feel natural to her too. But until that happened, she would just keep it up. It was a little tiring, getting up earlier to do makeup and hair until she looked perfect, and keeping up a smile even when she felt anxious to the point where she wanted to bite her nails, but she was keeping it up so far. But she hadn't made as many new friends as she had hoped for. Hopefully, that would still happen. But even if it didn't, at least people were noticing her more. Emilia Manning was no longer a quiet mouse, she was a confident girl. Hopefully, at least. Something that hadn't really improved was her grades, and she knew that was important too.

Not only did she want to appear beautiful and fashionable, she wanted to seem smart and accomplished as well. But it was hard to focus on schoolwork on top of everything else, and Emilia had already given up on studying for the day. To keep up the appearance, she had grabbed a big book on Transfiguration and was hiding behind it, reading a smaller fairy tale book she was hiding from sight with the bigger book. To anyone passing her table, she would seem like she was studying hard. When really she was reading one of her favorite stories about a princess who was kidnapped and was rescued by a handsome prince. She had been imagining the handsome prince as Derek, and occasionally her thoughts drifted away as she daydreamed about the story. It was the perfect way to relax, even if the Transfiguration book smelled a little musty. She still thought she had come up with something pretty smart to pass some time.

Maggy never liked going into the Library, books were always flying overhead and she always feared one might drop and land right on her. But she needed a quiet place to study and get away from her inner thoughts that were tormenting her lately. Walking through the library she spotted Emilia, one of her roommates. This reminded her that she hadn't ever really spent much time with the girl. Of course, Emilia always seemed a bit too delicate to want to do much of anything that Maggy would want to do. But maybe sitting together while they studied? Her train of thought stopped as she came up behind her roommate and glanced at the text in her book. It seemed to be two books rather and the one her friend was reading had the words Prince, dashing etc. right there on the pages. Pretending she hadn't noticed Maggy turned the corner of the desk and dropped her bag on the table hoping to wake Emilia out of her day dream. She plopped into the seat across from her. "Transfiguration huh?" She asked taking out her own books to study.

Emilia had been daydreaming about the prince but she was awakened from its by someone who dropped into the seat across from her. She was startled to see it was her roommate Maggy who she didn't really talk to too much. The girl's question made Emilia blush and she quickly nodded, hiding the book behind the Transfiguration book even more. She made sure to hide it even better now because there was no way the girl wouldn't notice it if she tried to put it away. Maggy was one of those girls who always seem to look cool without trying to Emilia knew she was friends with Acacia but didn't know much else about her. Out of all the girls in the dormitory Maggy never seemed too interested in the Emilia and the feeling was mutual. She was closer to Acasia and Analei who seemed to share more of her interests. But it wouldn't be bad to talk to Maggy for a bit, if only she hadn't just nearly called her doing something embarrassing. Emilia realized it had been too long since she had said anything and that she was being rude. She she quickly cleared her throat and smiled brightly at the other girl. "Oh, yes." She said with a nod. "What about you? Do you need to study as well?"

Maggy tried to not let on that she knew about the second book hidden behind the larger transfiguration book. Emilia seemed to maneuver the books and draw them closer to herself. She didn't want to troll her roommate but the option was there of course. She waited for Emlia to say something which seemed to take awhile. "I'm going to study from the Defense book today I think. It's awful boring reading about spells and not practicing but for the exams it seems to be the only way to pass them," she said rolling her eyes slightly about having to study. She wondered if anyone was going to be meeting Emilia today like Acacia or Analei. They were both Maggy's best friends at the school and she hadn't bothered making many more friends outside of the two. She knew both of her friends were close to Emilia as well it seemed weird the four of them never hung out together much.

Emilia was a bit disappointed to hear Maggy intended to stick around, as it put her in a weird position. She still had the book hidden in her transfiguration book, but closing and putting it away now would make it obvious it was there. The same went for closing her Transfiguration book, as it would be obvious there was something inside it. Her cheeks were pink, but she tried her best to keep smiling and nodding. "Oh, I agree... it seems silly that Defence exams are so much theory." Though in truth, Emilia preferred that. Having to do spells in front of Professor Styx was awful. "The subject can be a little scary, though." She said unthinkingly. Then she winced, as she knew that wasn't a very cool thing to say.
