HISTORY: Ella has only dim memories of her parents. The ones she has are happy, but they aren't very clear and she is unsure if they are even real. Her parents Karan and Cecilia Arora died in a car accident when Ella was four years old. Her older sister Josephine was sixteen at the time and attending Hogwarts in Scotland. Both girls were moved to the care of their grandfather, whom they had never met. Their grandfather, Anish Arora, had long ago disowned only son for marrying a muggleborn girl. He was infuriated with him for ending the purity of their branch of the family tree. The last pureblood in a long line, Anish resented the girls' impure blood and never let them forget it. Josephine left her grandfather's care as soon as she turned seventeen, but Ella was left behind with him. Growing up, she was taught his prejudiced pure-blood beliefs, while constantly reminded that she was a stain upon the family name. This caused Ella to grow up conflicted, loathing her muggle heritage. Anish decided to send the girl to Durmstrang instead of Hogwarts, hoping it would instill his values in his granddaughter. Distant and cold, Ella only rarely interacts with her classmates. She hasn't made many friends as a result. She keeps her blood status a secret, both out of self-perservation at Durmstrang and out of shame.
