((I'm posting this early because I'm really slow with RPing. Basically this RP is where Emer concedes that her children may go to Hogwarts if they wish. You still need to give her a good reason for why you want to go, but then feel free to be sorted or apply for transfer if you wish))

Emer had prepared the house earlier. The family had just been to see a movie as a celebration of the beginning of the school holidays and the success of the new shop. Yes, she was disappointed that her first shop hadn't taken off, but now she was the proud owner of Ollivander's, the wand shop. She'd realised earlier in the year that despite her love of wandlore, her children hadn't known about the concept of the 'wand choosing the wizard.' This had coincided with her youngest daughter, Faxen, asking if she could attend Hogwarts (('scuse God-mode :r )) and a horrible realisation that she wasn't doing as good a job of teaching them the ways of the wizarding world as she had hoped.

Not long after that, Emer had been reading the Daily Prophet and noticed that Ollivander's was up for sale. With everything she had, Emer had quickly sold off her failing shop at Mākutu Mall and gone into debt to purchase the wand shop. She was now finally breaking even and would soon begin work on her own line of wands using native magical materials.

As she drew the people-mover up the drive, Emer cast a silent Bluebell Flames charm at the house, and the dark windows of the double-storied house glowed with a warm blue light. Inside, five brand new broomsticks were wrapped and waiting for the kids to discover them. The fire was ready to be lit and right about now the roast chicken would be ready to come out of the oven. Emer hated the winter with its early nights and cold mornings, and loved to warm the house with mid-winter celebrations. She pulled on the hand brake of the car and got out. "Make sure the doors are locked, please, Rosiee," she asked quietly and took her two younger children, Ollie and Faxen, by the hand. She apparated to the hallway, just inside the door and made them take off their warm clothing before going any further into the house. Hopefully the older children would follow. Their apparition skills were getting better, although not perfect. She'd forgotten that they shouldn't be taught apparition until they were 16, and had started them early. "I must start teaching Faxen soon," she thought to herself. The twins had started learning at 11.

This would be an especially good mid-winter night. There had been a lot of tension in the house lately, with at least two of her children openly angry at her for not allowing them to attend Hogwarts. The brooms were gifts to ease this tension, and she had decided it was time to talk about the Hogwarts issue. This time with a more open mind.

Ksaafa revelled in winter weather. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors in the cold, and in fact didn't like being too warm. However, when his Mum pulled the car into the drive and he saw the windows lit up in blue, he felt a wonderful feeling. He suspected tonight might be a good night, although he couldn't explain why. He nudged Cale and and challenged, "I'm green, you're yellow. Whoever changes more bluebell flames to their colour wins."

As soon as the car stopped, Ksaafa climbed over his little brother Ollie, and jumped out. Staring intently at the front door, he concentrated on the spot just inside where he hoped to apparate to. His face crumpled into a frown of concentration and he took a small step forward, spinning a little as he did so.

*CRACK*

Ksaafa had an awful feeling he'd left something behind, but checked himself all over and felt confident he hadn't splinched himself. However, he was still outside the house, instead of inside as he had intended. He growled in frustration and thumped his fist against the front door, which was now directly in front of him. If he didn't get inside fast, Cale would win.

Emer frowned and opened the door to an angry looking Ksaafa. "No need to knock the door down, Ksaafa," she admonished, "Your apparating is getting better. Just give it time." She hoped he was angry about that, rather than angry at her. She didn't want a fight to spoil this evening. She hung up her own coat and scarf and headed into the living room, where the younger kids were already excitedly poking and prodding the wrapped broomsticks with excitement.

"Alright everyone, open them up!" she said, nodding as they looked at her with pleading eyes. She hoped learning to fly together would be fun.
