Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
Oh, and the duel begins now. Also, if someone doesn't post after 12 hours, then they are disqualified.

Aaren didn't know how she got involved with SDA. Perhaps it was Killua, or was it his friend? She wasn't even sure anymore, but alas, she can't waste any time trying to think of reasons why she was currently standing on the south part of the stage, facing a girl she knew by face but not by name. They would be dueling, and merlin was she nervous. She didn't want to get hurt, but she didn't want to hurt her opponent either. But this was a duel, and her friends were probably watching. She at least wanted to show them that she could stand for herself. She gave her opponent a quick smile and whispered a soft apology. She held out her wand and stepped forward before taking a dueling stance. "Expelliarmus!", she cast the first spell that crossed her mind. It was a pretty simple move, she knew. But the optimistic side of her hoped that maybe the girl would slip down the platform accidentally or just get hit for the duel to come to an end.

Sage had been pissed off for a little while. Following the prefects meeting and then the meeting in Styx's office. She wasn't feeling good at all. She was annoyed about losing her wand, she was annoyed about losing all of those points and just annoyed in general. So these clubs were the only thing keeping her head on straight. Now, however the duelling was pretty much the only thing she was even looking forward to. So, she was very glad that she had a chance to prove herself. The other girl, some gryffindor shot the first spell. Sage smirked slightly as the first spell was cast, she dodged the spell easily and then shot back, "Densaugeo" she cast smiling brightly hoping that it would at least hit the girl.

This was not going to be easy. Aaren dodged the spell shot by the Slytherin. If she had been hit, the result would have been terrible. Her opponent cast a spell that would have enlarged her teeth should it had hit her. She was glad that she was able to dodge it, although a little ungracefully. "Furnunculus" she cast, frowning. She just hoped that the spell would hit the girl, but looking at her opponent, she doubted that she will be defeated that easily.

Sage groaned quite visibly when the girl managed to dodge her spell, though it was much closer. She then heard the spell being shot back at her, the spell would've hit her straight on, had she not managed, "Protego" which blocked the spell from hitting, a spell that would've covered her face in boils. Sage swore loudly under her breath. She felt more connected with her wand as if distance made it feel better, without even hesitating, Sage shot back, throwing the jelly fingers curse. Hoping this would hit the girl and cause her to lose her ability to really use her wand.

This was bad. This was really bad. Aaren wanted to prove herself in this duel. She couldn't lose that badly. It would be embarrassing, yes, but that was the least of her concerns. She was quite sure that she would never hear the end of it should the news of her losing terribly reach her mother. Her eyes widened in surprise as the girl deflected the spell. She resisted the urge to complain loudly. She was going to be mature about this, and that meant that she had to concentrate. She barely managed to dodge the her own spell shooting back to her. She could have cast protego too but her sense of self preservation kicked in. She slipped and landed on her bottom. She groaned, she barely heard the spell used by her opponent. But she knew that should it hit her, it would be over. And she didn't want that. "Protego!" she shouted, she had to defend herself.

Sage watched as the girl slipped to the ground, as she'd just cast her spell, perhaps this would be the right time to cast a second spell so that she could finish her off. But, the girl still managed to deflect the spell. Which wasn't good. But, leaving barely any time between the first spell being cast by her, Sage took another shot, "Stupefy" Sage said angrily, hoping that this would hit the girl. It wasn't an overly complex spell, but Sage didn't really care.

Aaren wasn't even able to stand up before the girl shot another spell at her. She held out her wand, and she was shaking. She was nervous, but she knew she was shaking not because she was scared. She was mad at being too weak. She signed up for this, she, at least, had to show that she was capable. But alas, she could do nothing but defend herself. "Protego!" she shouted again. She was just repeating spells, but she could care less. If she didn't really want to wind that badly before, now, she did.

This girl that she was fighting was in Sage's eyes about as pathetic as they came. Sage knew she was more powerful than her. Not to mention that Sage's anger had been building up as time had gone on since that point when she'd lost her wand, and this match all of it appeared to be coming out. Sage was just putting all her force behind every spell, she didn't want to back down. She didn't want to lose. However, her spell was once again blocked, she really didn't get why this girl wasn't throwing spells back at her. "Petrificus Totalus" she shot back, really hoping this spell would hit the girl.

Aaren might be not be the smartest girl around, but she knew how to gauge someone's strength, and this girl that she was facing was far stronger than she was. Not only on the amount of spells they knew, for they were both fifth years, but her motivation to win seemed to not be as strong as the other's. She knew nothing about the other girl, except that she was a prefect, and that was already saying a lot. Though if rumors are to be believed, this year's prefect meeting was a disaster. She struggled to stand up, she was in a vulnerable position. She had to gain some ground, but all she could do was defend. "Protego!," she said, before she took another step forward to cast an offensive spell. "Stupefy!"

Sage was glad when the girl finally somehow managed to get to her feet, it was no fair if the girl was still on the ground, she didn't think it was as fun when the other person wasn't striking. However, she realised that she needed to keep her energy going. Sage had been launching attack after attack, perhaps it was her turn to only cast one spell. "Protego" she said easily, "Finally putting up a fight then" She taunted with a smirk. "Confundo" She shot back with a smile, hoping to first confuse and then throw the final blow. She wanted this over now. She couldn't lose, not in front of Styx

Aaren was rarely angry. She always make it a point not to get easily offended by anyone, but the girl's words had definitely hit a nerve. She had been trying to put up a good fight. Yes, she knew she was failing, and yes, she knew that she probably had no chance against this girl. But that didn't mean that she was just playing around. She was being serious. She was trying. She was just throwing defensive spells after another. She couldn't find a chance to actually attack, it wasn't like she didn't want to. She couldn't. And alas, she had to cast protego once again. "Protego!" Seriously, if protego was a person, she's quite sure that said person would have shouted at her for calling it every chance she got. But she had no choice, she hadn't heard the spell that the girl had shot towards her. There was no light, nor was there any sound, she could only defend herself. Again. "Expelliarmus" she cast, hoping to finally hit the girl. She was running out of ideas. She wanted this to end.

Sage smirked happily as she realised that this girl she was competiting against was actually getting annoyed. It was good, hopefully she would get lazy and wouldn't actually pay attention to what Sage was doing. Although, Sage could've laughed about the fact that this girl chose that spell again. "Protego" She said, almost lazily blocking the spell. "Really?" Sage laughed lightly, "Just give up" she told the girl, before then going on the offensive, "Stupefy"

Aaren glared at her opponent. She was annoyed, definitely annoyed. She was making fun of her, wasn't she? And though not usually one to take offense, she felt quite irritated. Dodging the spell had been hard, but she managed. Afterwards, she decided to take an offensive stance, "Petrificus Totalus" The duel was about to come to an end, whether it would end on her favor or not, she wasn't sure.

Sage was incredibly pleased to see that the taunting that she was doing to the girl was actually doing something. It seemed to de-concentrate her. This was good for her. She felt powerful and superior. She laughed slightly as the girl only barely managed to dodge her spell. "Getting tired?" she called, just after the other girl sent a spell towards her, which as ever, Sage blocked with ease, "Protego" She smirked at the girl, "Come on now, you're tired, just give up!" Sage didn't care that taunting the girl was probably quite pointless, it was fun for her. "Petrificus Totalus"
