OOCOut of Character:
All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
Oh, and the duel begins now. Also, if someone doesn't post after 12 hours, then they are disqualified.

Dexter was so excited for this. He had no idea who his opponent was, as he had never spoken with the boy, but he was ready to dual with him. Totally ready. The Slytherin took a deep breath as he got into position, his wand held sturdy in his hands. He gave a quick wave hello to his opponent, hoping that maybe a new friend would come of this, before getting down to business. He took a confident step forward, and commanded, "Petrificus Totalus!" He watched as his spell made its way towards his target.

Perseas was hyped up at the thought of having finally an official duel. He had several posters of popular duelists in his room back home but he never had the chance to experience a real one himself. Today he was going to have this opportunity and he was glad that he had decided to join the club this year. So far had proved to be a good choice. Now he was taking a step on the dueling platform, getting into position and having a first look at his opponent. It was a student from his year but he had never talked before with the guy. He showed a half smile and nodded back for a hello. His grey eyes were sparkling with excitement. He didn't care much about victory. Finally he had something new to spice up his dull routines. His eyes pinned on his opponent and let him cast the first spell just to see his dueling style. Soon a flash of light darted towards Perseas' direction. "Protego!" he shouted, tightening his grip around his wand's handle to exert more prowess through it. The protective barrier appeared and the flash of light rebounded directly off it back towards the caster. Perseas watched the deflected jet of light zooming back to its caster.

This would be a lot of fun indeed! Upon finding his own spell shooting back to him, the Slytherin took a dive to avoid it, not landing smoothly. However, he recovered quickly and aimed his wand at his opponent. The thought of using a defensive spell had gone to his mind, but the automatic flight response caused him to take physical steps to get out of the way. With a small smile on his lips, he threw another spell at him. "Stupefy!"

Perseas observed his opponent's reaction as he avoided the deflected spell. For a moment, he seemed he had trouble but he recovered impressively fast. Then Perseas watched the familiar jet of scarlet light of a stunning spell coming his way. "Protego!" he casted another shield charm and the light blue force field appeared in front of him to block the scarlet stream of energy. After blocking his opponent's spell and just when the magical barrier dissolved, a new flash of light was directed to his opponent. It was a well casted a Knee-reversing hex sent right at his opponent's legs. His opponent would have to cast the next shield charm lower than before, leaving vulnerable the upper part of his body.

Dexter was taken by surprise at the speed of his opponent, and having still been on the ground, was not able to move quick enough. He was hit by the the spell, and immediately felt the effects. He had no idea how to move with this. Knowing he had a little time to attempt to fix this, he used the featherlight spell - on himself. Now, his opponent would have some fun trying to hit him. Dexter carefully pushed off the ground and threw another spell at his opponent. "Locomotor mortis!"

Perseas smirked when his spell hit the opponent. As planned, now he had the advantage and with his adversary slowed down, he could hit him far more easier. However, his opponent had a marvelous idea and used a Featherlight Charm on himself to assist him. Perseas was left aghast but had to worry first about the next jet of light zooming towards his way. When the time was right he raised his wand. "Serpensortia!" he muttered and the end of his wand exploded as a long snake shot out of it. The timing was perfect as before the reptile was able to land on the dueling platform, his opponent's spell hit it and both vanished in black smoke. Perseas locked his eyes on his opponent. He wasn't sure how to deal with his lighter opponent so he waited to see what would be his next move and counter back accordingly.

Dexter was amazed at how this duel was going. His opponent was awesome! Although, he felt guilty about his spell hitting the snake - he hated hurting creatures, or things that looked like creatures. "Wow," he said, grinning at his opponent as the smoke cleared and sight was returned to him. While he was curious as to why his opponent did not go further, he took the time to try and end this. Perhaps the boy was tired. Dexter felt sweat beading on his neck, but otherwise felt fine. With his wand at the opponent, he continued. "Stupefy!"

The black smoke dissolved and revealed Perseas wearing his half smile. He was facing a formidable opponent and he liked it a lot. Up to that point Perseas' strategy was defense. Perhaps it was time to apply more pressure on this guy. Perseas also noticed a hint of guilt on his opponent's face. "Serpensortia!" he casted again and this time a slightly bigger snake jumped off his wand tip. It hit the floor with a thud and slithered towards Perseas' opponent with its forked tongue tasting the air. Perseas knew that many people wouldn't like to harm a creature. While he was empathizing this view, snakes were an exception in his case. His freaking boggart could take the form of something horrific, consisting of numerous snakes. "Protego!" he reacted the last moment and his shield charm absorbed the energy of the stunning spell. "Sweet mother of Hades! That was close." he murmured and waited to see his opponent's reactions towards the threatening serpent.

Dexter was surprised at another snake being thrown at him. Why was his opponent throwing snakes at him? The creature slithered across the arena, and was quite a lot larger than the last. He decided to try and avoid the snake, as he was far lighter than that snake could ever hope to be. Keeping an eye on the snakes movements to make sure the lovely creature didn't sneak up on him, he tried once more to end this in order to avoid hurting the poor thing. "Stupefy!"

"Protego!" he defended himself once more from a stunning spell. The snake he had summoned out of his wand was glaring and hissing at his opponent but he seemed he was out of reach to even be threatened by the serpent. "Don't be so shy. You have to meet your new friend." he smirked and pointed at his opponent. "Descendo!" he uttered and hurled a new flash of light at his opponent. His spell was going to lower his lighter opponent down on the ground and on the snake if it was going to be successful.

His opponent blocked himself once more. If this continued, Dexter was not sure how what more he could do other than continue on the offensive. However, defence was not his strong-point, which was why he had avoided it as best he could. He was hit by the spell and landed on the ground - a little closer to the snake than the snake wanted. Knowing he would regret this, he quickly aimed his wand at the creature. "Petrificus Totalus." The snake was petrified.

Perseas watched his opponent hit the ground quite near to the hissing snake. He thought he had seen a crack on his opponent's defense and thus, he grabbed the opportunity. "Stupefy." he mumbled and the whole chamber flashed scarlet as his own stunner darted towards his opponent. Down on the ground and occupied with the snake's petrification, Perseas couldn't see how this guy was going to avoid being stunned.

Dexter heard the spell and saw the chamber light up. Pointing his wand at his opponent, he had planned to cast a defensive, but ultimately was not fast enough. The Slytherin was hit by the spell and felt the full effects. Already being on the ground, he was pushed back further from the blow. He was unable to continue.

Professor Styx walked onto the platform and he got out his wand and waved it over the Slytherin that lost. He announced in a cold tone, "Perseas Stratis wins the match." He did not figure that Dexter knew that he was out of the tournament. That was all there was to it.
