Professor Theodore Snow leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a careful eye on the pair.</SIZE>​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
Oh, and the duel begins now. Also, if someone doesn't post after 24 hours, then they are disqualified.

Zechariah was looking forward to the duels starting up again, next to them and Quidditch he didn't have much to look forward to at this school. He knew today was going to be interesting as Vladimir was a strong opponent, unlike his last duelling competitors. When the duel began Zechariah didn't let a moment go to waste and shot the first spell. "Petrificus Totalus." he said, this wasn't going to be a duel for silly spells.

Vladimir stepped onto the stage, knowing that this was his third duel, so he was ranking up there in the standings. Vladimir looked at his opponent, and for once, it was a male. He managed to obliterate the other two females, Pandora and Belladonna. Powell didn't waste a moment, which was what Vladimir preferred. He waved his wand, casting protego, to deflect the spell. He then cast the Jelly Fingers curse.

Zechariah wasn't surprised that Vladimir was able to easily deflect his spell. Finally Zechariah was having a proper duel and not something that was over before it even properly began. Zechariah quickly flourished his wand to protect himself against Vladimir's jelly finger curse and retaliated with the trip jinx.

That boy protected himself but before Vladimir could get a protego up, he found himself being tripped, and falling flat on his chest. Groaning, Vladimir shouted in anger while still on the ground, "Incendio!" He jumped back up, hoping to see his opponent go up in flames.

Zechariah watched as Vladimir fell to the ground, smirking as he head the boy groan. Zechariah was so entertained by watching Vladimir on the ground he didn't have time to fully react to Vladimir's incendio spell flying towards him. Just by moving away quickly the bottom of his robes caught fire but only ever so slightly and he was able to put the fire out in a matter of moments. Infuriated he quickly flousihed his wand towards Vladimir, casting the jelly brain jinx on the fellow Slytherin..

Vladimir smirked when his spell caught the boy on fire. But his aim could use some work. Vladimir quickly put up a protego to block the jinx at him, before casting his own favorite spell, reducto.

Zechariah quickly brought up his wad to protect himself against Vladimir's spell, even though he protected himself against the full effect of it he still was taken a little aback from the force of the spell. Once he steadied himself up again he cast a simple yet effective Petrificus Totalus spell towards Vladimir.

Vladimir tossed up another protego to block the simple spell. Huh, that was interesting. Considering that Reducto won him the last several matches, he considered that spell to be his ticket to win. He cast it once more, but with more force. He needed to knock his opponent completely off the stage. Only then, would he be the best in his year.

Zechariah was surprised that Vladimir had gone with the same spell again. Bringing his wand up to protect himself he was once again knocked back back the force, so much so that he landed on his back, but still within the area of the duel. Taking a few more seconds to catch his breath and get back up on his feet he cast his own spell back, but instead with a simple cheering charm, using his old tricks.

Vladimir quickly got up another protego, immediately recognizing that charm. The boy wanted to cheer him up? That just won't do. He added all the strength he had for this next spell, and shot another reducto at Zechariah. Vladimir just wanted this duel to be over.

Zechariah wasn't surprised that Vladimir was able to block his simple cheering charm, it was worth a shot but he should have known better than to waste a go on something so simple. Bracing himself for Vladimir's next hit he was taken off guard that he had once again cast a reducto spell. Although this time his protego was no good, there was too much force behind his opponents spell and Zechariah was sent flying off the stage, rolling on to the hard stone floor. Barely able to pull himself up he knew he had lost the fight but couldn't help but smirk, it had been a good fight.

Once Vladimir saw that Zechariah Powell was sent flying, he knew that the duel was over. He walked over to the boy and held out his hand to help him up. He doubted that his teammate would accept the help, but it was better than gloating in his face. Vladimir was an honorable winner, for the time being.

Professor Styx was very much enjoying the duel, and announced the winner was Vladimir. Zechariah put up a good fight, and was perhaps the second in his year when it came down to dueling.
