Margo had been settling in alright. But she did find that it felt more like a school than a castle. Which shouldn't have been surprising but at least when she was outside it was easier to pretend she was a heroine in a novel and not a first year student who still got lost on the way to breakfast. She sat on the edge of the small dock and flipped through her history book, wishing she had brought something else to read.

Abigail had been surprised by how big the castle had been. Though she was always bothered with the fact that she had always seemed to be lost. The castle was a maze! The Gryffindor made her way to the lake. She had noticed a small dock and a girl about her age. Abby stood a few meters behind the girl and decided to draw the scenery in front of her.

Margo had only read a few paragraphs before her mind was wandering. She was barely able to make out the sound of someone else joining her over the sound of the water and she turned to see if she was just imagining it. She turned her head slowly and offered a small wave when she saw that it was a girl from her year that had joined her.

Abigail looked up when she had noticed that the girl had moved slightly. Not minding, as she continued to draw the scene in front of her. Abby sent the girl a small friendly smile as well as a wave, as she continued to draw.

Margo hesitated, wondering if she should say something. Eventually she built up the nerve and turned around again. But as she did, she lost grip of her textbook and it fell into the water with a loud plop. "Oh no!" she gasped and was almost tempted to go in after it.

Abby looked up quickly when she had heard the girl speak, she had looked worried. The Gryffindor quickly but shyly made her way towards the girl. "What happen- Oh no- I'm sure we can try and get it somehow"

"Really?" Margo asked and turned to look pleadingly at the other girl. "The water looks quite deep..." she started to say but trailed off when she realized she wasn't sure what she was going to say next. "You haven't learned any spells that would help have you?" she asked even though she also looked like a first year and they likely knew about the same amount of magic.
