The last leg of the election was underway, which meant things were about to pick up and become more hectic than any other stage of the election. Colin was thankful for this and furthermore so with Winnie back at school for the holidays however he could not help but feel overwhelmed already in anticipation of amount work that was ahead for everyone. He sat down in the spectator section as the debate was about to begin, feeling nervous on Claudia's behalf. The topic of the economy was something he knew she felt apprehensive about, but in spite of this Colin was sure she would get her point across. Thus far her points were articulated well and there was no reason for him or anyone else to believe she would have an issue now, no matter what the subject of the debate was. Colin watched intently as the debate unfolded, hanging on every answer the candidates had for each question.

Although listening over the radio had given Ruby all the information she wanted about the candidates for the last two debates, that was simply not going to be enough for this debate. Ruby cared very strongly about the impact a new government could have on her business, and she wanted to get a clear view of the candidates visions before deciding who to vote for. A couple of candidates had already been ruled out in her mind by the earlier debates, but hopefully today would really settle in her eye who would be best for her business. Taking a seat with Amy and through great effort ignoring her friend's badge for a candidate Ruby had already decided was not the kind of person she wanted running the country, Ruby got a notebook out to take notes on her impressions as the debate went on. Her ears perked up a little when she heard one of her own submissions asked, and she looked up at the candidates, especially interested to see what they would have to say on this subject.

Amy would be the first to admit she didn't know much about politics, but she had been sort of following the election so far. Her favorite candidate had been Cat from the start, as Amy thought someone close to her own age would know what sort of things young people would need. They were the future, and in Amy's mind it was always the stuffy older people who made the decisions without listening to younger voices. Cat had been a bit more quiet lately, but Amy was nothing if not loyal. She had a badge pinned to her shirt to show her support as she listened to the debate with her friend Ruby. She hoped they would get a lot of useful information today about what the candidates were planning to do with the shopping districts.

Ruby listened carefully to the answers to her question, taking a few notes as she did. They both had interesting points, and Ruby appreciated the different insights into ways to help those trying to enter the business world. Learning everything herself as she went had been a struggle, and helping others entering the market be prepared for the difficulties to come was important to her. She was surprised to hear another of her questions asked immediately, returning her quill to her parchment quickly. This was another question she had been especially concerned with. The staff she had inherited from her shop's previous owner would surely be moving on to greener pastures soon, and she had been contemplating how to go about hiring. There were certainly ages she would consider too young to work with food, but the thought of young students working in any business surprised her a little, and she wanted to know what direction the ministry might be moving on this issue. She took notes as Mrs. Holland spoke, finding herself agreeing with much of the woman's position. With Claudia's answer finished Ruby looked back up to the stage, eager to see what the other candidates had to say on this issue.
