He questioned himself as to why he had ever thought of cooking for them instead of meeting the Dutch girl at the local pub like they would normally do because the Beater wasn't a great cook at all - the only thing he had ever made for dinner was chicken wings which he only had to turn around every so often so they wouldn't get burnt. He had even managed to get his roommates to leave their apartment though he had to give them two tickets to the next Macaws match to actually get them to leave. Zachery wanted to impress the girl and hoped that by doing this he would succeed in doing so. He nervously cracked his fingers while he waited for the chicken parmesan to bake in the oven. She could be here any moment now and he wanted to have everything ready for when she would arrive so he wouldn't have to let her wait for the food he had prepared for too long. He rolled up his sleeves and started to set up the table the two of them would be sitting at. He had even gotten so far as to buy them some fancy wine to drink whilst eating dinner even though the young man did not even like wine. Every once in awhile Zachery would turn around and squat down to look through the oven's window to see how the chicken was doing. Hopefully, she wasn't a vegetarian because he hadn't taken that into account.

Sanne was really enjoying spending her time with Zachery, more than she might have ever expected from the day they had first met or the second time they had first met without the filter of alcohol blacking out their meeting. She now was smiling to herself as she made her way to his apartment. When finally there she smoothed her blonde hair and knocked on his door, gladly awaiting the man who had captured her attention. She knew that it did not bother her boyfriend that she was seeing somebody but the closer she got to Zachery the more she found herself debating whether or not she should end things with her long-time boyfriend who was still in The Netherlands while she was in New Zealand. She would have to decide on this but for now she was glad to enjoy her date with the man.

It seemed like the dish in the oven was taken forever and the longer he had to wait the more nervous he got. Zachery didn't want to screw the date up by serving burnt chicken parmesan since he had seriously put effort into the whole thing. He quickly got rid of the apron he was wearing by throwing it into a corner and walked to the hallway to open the front door, pushing clothes and shoes to the side to make it look decent and not as if a bomb had just exploded in the hallway of his apartment. Zachery ran his hand through his hair and smiled at the girl as he opened the door, happy that she had agreed to this date even though he was super anxious. ''Hey,'' he said and leaned in to give the girl a hug. ''Turns out we have to wait for the food for just a couple of minutes, however, make yourself at home. Can I get you a glass of wine?'' the Beater asked Sanne as he led her through the hallway and into the main area. ''I've also got beer or juice if you don't like wine,'' he added with a smile when he turned around the face the blonde-haired girl.

As the door open Sanne smiled to see Zachery, who she greeted with a hug and a polite, "Hi." She followed Zach through his house, glancing around them because she hadn't actually seen the inside of his apartment as they had always gone to hers for a private moment but seeing his place now she had to admit she liked the look of it. As they made their way to the dining and living area of his home she turned to face him with a smile and said, "Wine sounds good." She liked beer too but there were nights like this when she wanted to feel classier and somehow wine was what did it for the young woman. "I like your place," she told him as she took off her leather jacket and scarf revealing a simple button up shirt and a black maxi skirt that had a slit that reached her mid-thigh. She wasn't much for over-doing clothes and growing up with as many sisters as she had meant that if she had ever gotten something extra special it often went missing a day or so later which allowed her to cultivate a simplistic style. She liked simple things but more than that she liked her present company.

He chuckled at her comment about his apartment and said, ''You should tell that to my roommate's girlfriend.'' while walking to the kitchen to take two wine glasses from out the cupboard as well as the wine bottle that he had put away in the corner of the kitchen counter. ''If it weren't for her this place would still be the mess it once was.'' Zachery had fond memories of how the apartment used to look and personally didn't have a problem with the clothes and other junk lying around the floor as they would clean the place every once in a while which he thought was more than enough since both he and his roommate were barely home anyway. He opened the bottle of wine and poured some in both glasses, hoping that she would like the taste of it because he hadn't bothered tasting it as he sure that he wouldn't like it anyway. Zachery handed one of the glasses to Sanne when he walked back to where she stood and smiled at her. ''Cheers,'' he said, raising the glass a little before he would take a sip.

Sanne smiled at Zachery, she liked him though the thought of some poor girl having to mother him and his roommate made her a little curious about how bad the situation was. She was hardly the neatest person in the world but she liked to live tidily and she hoped that nowadays the man across from her could take care of himself otherwise she might be wasting her time. Still while she thought all of this in rapid succession she said, "Well please be sure to pass on my compliments." The Dutch witch turned as Zach handed her a glass of wine and smiled again, clinking their glasses together as their eyes caught. "Cheers," she agreed. She then took a sip of the glass of wine. She liked the flavour but she was not a sommelier so instead of saying something pretentious she said, "This is nice," after swallowing it. The woman sighed comfortably - clearly quite glad to be around the Quidditch player.

He wouldn't be surprised if he would end up handing Sanne his glass of wine also but before that would happen he had to take a sip of the wine first. Disgusting. Zachery swallowed it because he did not want to spit it back into the glass but the expression on his face said exactly what he thought of the drink. ''No, definitely not a wine drinker,'' the man commented, putting his glass down on the table beside them. He felt a little embarrassed that had to put it away and eventually get himself a beer from out of the refrigerator because he had paid a lot for it just so that he could serve it to him and his date. After a couple of minutes of catching up with Sanne about the latest happenings in both of their lives the kitchen timer went off, which he didn't hear at first as he had been staring at the girl while she had been talking to him. Zachery hurriedly walked towards the kitchen once he could hear the timer going off, wondering if Sanne had caught him staring at her and took the dish out of the oven to put it down on the table he had set for them before she had arrived. ''Dinner is ready,'' the Beater told the Dutch woman, looking at the chicken parmesan and smiling at it because he had taken it out of the oven just in time for it not the get burnt or anything. He looked back up at Sanne as the two sat down across from each other and smiled once more, hoping for the love of God that she was going to like it.
