Wearing: long navy evening gown
Faida had chaperoned other dances before but this was her first at HNZ, she had almost winced at the vivid shades of the Great Hall instead of the usual house colours that were on display and as she glanced upwards she could see petals falling from the enchanted ceiling atop the students and staff below. Smiling despite herself she began to circle the room, she had only really met the professors properly at the staff table during meal times and had as yet to make an appearance at the staff room, she seemed inundated with the workload for the two classes she was substituting for this semester but wouldn't have it any other way.
This was her night to let off steam, let her very short hair down so to speak and hopefully get to introduce herself to some of the professors in a less formal setting. She just hoped that none of them would think her stand-offish or stuck up for not seeking any of them out sooner. Smiling by way of greeting to some of the students that mingled, she caught sight of a few of the house elves dressed up like cupid's and nearly cracked up laughing loudly if it wasn't so terrible! Did the elves really enjoy being dressed like that?
She clamped her mouth shut, Faida had a habit of getting herself into hot water by always protesting on behalf of those that had a quieter voice than others but tonight was not a night for any activism on her part other than chaperoning the gargantuan number of Hogwarts students that were about. She had to admit they all did look very well and hoped that no one was going to try to misbehave tonight of all nights!
