Ivy was proud that gryffindor had won the first game this year especially as it was against slytherin. Felix had done his thing and caught the snitch in a move that enyone would be proud of. But winning didnt mean that she could relax. no, it just meant that they were in the championship match against ravenclaw and after the first taste of success she knew she wanted to beat Lucy and the eagles. The thing she was struggling with most this year was that she had some well-seasoned players on the team, but she also had a few new players who hadn't played Quidditch before and who had not had much experience on a broom at all. and trying to find the right balance of basic skills and confidence building for the younger players as well as challenging the older ones was proving to be a bit of a struggle. she had run sessions with the new players, and with the whole team and she thought that she had a good balance but it did mean that she was on the pitch a lot. Often running trainings at weird hours, as that was when she could get the extra bookings. Today, she hadn't booked and was just going to go for a fly around the grounds. It was fun skimming over the lake, especially on a hot day when she could let her feet drag in the water. But when she had collected her broom, she was surprised to see the pitch empty. She got some music playing and grabbed a quaffle and took to the air, running through a couple of drills she was planning to bring to the basics session as, well as experimenting with ways that she could boost it for the more advanced players.

Every time Lucy thought about Quidditch it felt as though her blood was fizzing in her veins. The cup had never been closer to her grip, and it was her last chance. All or nothing - Ravenclaw would win this year, or she'd walk away from school never having led her team to a victory in four years as captain. It was so, so close, and she was going to do everything she could to make this happen, no holds barred.

So, pitch time was a must. Even on days without scheduled team practices, Lucy was making sure to keep up her own drills as much as possible, and after weeks of swinging her bat every day her biceps were starting to make some of her shirts a bit uncomfortable. Trotting out onto the pitch with her broom, Lucy was surprised to see Ivy already practicing - the leader of the team between her and victory. She couldn't quite help the urge to be a little mischevious, taking off at an angle out of Ivy's line of sight and creeping up behind her. She waited until Ivy was about to make a shot before making herself known, shouting at the top of her lungs right behind the Gryffindor; "BOO!"

Ivy was heading towards the goals lost in her own world of quiditch. part of her facused on the pitch and part of her wondering how this particular move would work with the rest of the team. where she could pass to myles, or where she would need to be if it was him or tessaria making the play or if she needed to see if Willaim or Fiona would be needed to watch their backs in this particular play.
as she drew closer to the hoops she got redy to shoot and it seemed that at least the last question was answered as someone shouted behind her just as she threw the ball causing he to jump and for the shot to go wide. "go damit" she said turining around to see Lucy Holland the Ravenclaw captain and beater flying behind her. not that she needed to check who it was. She had known Lucy since they were kids, causing minor chaos underfoot at ministry functions. " Where in the seven seas did you come from?" she called. before going to retrieve the ball.

Lucy grinned, flying a triumphant loop-de-loop as she watched Ivy fly off to collect the ball. "Gotta get better at watching your peripherals." Lucy teased in satisfaction. "If you can't even see me coming how're you gonna spot all the bludgers I'll be hammering your team with at the championship?"

Ivy couldnt help but watch as lucy flew like a rolercoaster wondering how many times she would have to do it before one got dizzy. "Aww i knew you cared about my performance. thanks for the free tips coach" she said teasing back. "if you promise to send all the bludgers my way i promise i will take special care to look out for them" she said. as much as she didnt like getting hit by bludgers if they came her way it would only benifit their team.

Lucy grinned, coming to a rest hanging upside down from her broom, pink hair streaming down below her. "Nope, not that stupid." She grinned brightly. "Gonna put your seeker in the ground and snatch that trophy." She stuck her tongue out, swaying lightly back and forth, hanging from her broom like a sloth.

Ivy couldnt help but chuckle as Lucy came to a stop upside down in front of her. something about it made her think of a scene from an old spiderman movie she had seen with her brothers. "Aww, well, it was worth a try, not that our seekers need any extra help to win a game." she teased winking at Lucy.

Lucy rolled her eyes and laughed, waving back and forth under her broom comfortably. "They've got nothing on Lilith, girl's a snitch catching machine. We've got this in the bag." She grinned, barrel-rolling halfway to sit upright on her broom again.

Ivy smiled. "Sure, keep telling yourself that pinky" she said, thinking of her team. She had complete confidence in both of her seekers, so whoever ended up playing would do well. "the problem with bags is that you cant see whats inside, and the cup is very securely locked in Professor Cade's office. i heard that some think that anyone who tries to remove it will be cursed.". she said pretty sure she had missed the analogy she had been making about letting the cat out of the bag.

Lucy laughed, raising her eyebrows. "Whatever, I saw Professor Josephs beat Professor Cade in the duelling tournament once. She can take him, if you guys are such sore losers we gotta take it by force." She smirked, flying closer to Ivy. "Won't matter though, we'll whallop you so good Gryffindors for generations to come will be embarrassed by it."

Ivy rea,ised she hadnt actually spoken to Lucy since they were kids. being a year different wasnt a big difference when they were five and six stealing brownies from the tea tray in a room full of adults but as they had got older and gone to school being a year different and in different houses meant different classes and difference social circles and not seeing each other all that often but she reamembered how much she had enjoyed those escapades. "she beat him once" she said emphisizing the once. though honestly she couldnt remember much about the professors duelling. "you sure talk big for a team that hasnt won the cup for how many years is it now?" she said. trying to remember how long it had been in her house, and who had had it before then,

Lucy's heart dropped too quickly for her to hide the way her face dropped alongside it. "Yeah, well, we've just been biding our time. Good things take time, you know!" She snapped, speaking a little faster than before in a rush to get the challenge back out. She knew it was way too late to avoid Ivy perceiving that she had hit a sore spot, but she could still ramble over it.

Ivy smiled as she saw lucys bravado drop a little. it seemed she had overshot the fun part. she honestly couldnt remember how long it had been three years? four? long enough for her to know it was where it belonged. "of course they do. but i think they need at least two more years to make them really good things" she said. by then she wouldnt be in the team and if things went her way she would be playing in the big leagues.

"Whatever." Lucy snapped, temper well and truly set off. "Wanna see how well you do facing a beater one on one?"

ivy knew she was pushing too far now. but smiled as lucy tossed the gauntlet. "not that sounds like a fun challenge. how do we know who wins?" she asked. the challenge sounded like fun either way. but having a set end and way to tell a winner would make it more fun.

Lucy twirled her bat in a few figure-8s, warming up her wrist. "If you can score ten goals before you're so hurt you gotta tap out, you win." She proposed thoughtfully.

Ivy listened to the terms of the competition. "sounds like a deal. and to make it fair i have to take shots at alternating ends of the pitch, and only one bludger in play, at a time." she said. already removing the idea that she could just hover at a goal and pass the ball through and the idea that lucy could just let fifty bludgers run rampant on the pitch and do her work for her "actually no, lets make it like a game, two bludgers, and if the target is ten goals should we make it ten gallions?" she asked. it was higher than she usually get on a game. but she was sure Lucy would be able to afford ten gallions.

Lucy's eyebrows raised and she couldn't quite help the small smirk that crept onto her face. "Well, I was only gonna go for a single bludger, but if you're offering me two I'll take it." She grinned. "And ten galleons sounds fair." She flew closer, extending a hand to shake.

that was going to be so much fun. "If you want to play with one you can. but i wanted you to have at least some chance of beating me, or rather beating me up." she said as she flicked her ponytail over her shoulder "I mean us cullens are made of pretty hardy stuff as i am sure you know" she said. though she was pretty sure she was the least stirdy of them all. her sister was an auror and thrived in the combat side of the job, her brother had been attacked bya dragon and lived to tell the tale, and her mum and her dad. well every month they turned into creatures that muggles called monsters in what was a pretty painful process. out of the lot of them she was the biggest sook. but Lucy didnt need to know that

Lucy's smirk widened and she sat up straighter, stretching in a way that showed the clear powerful flex of her biceps. "We'll see." She grinned, wiggling her eyebrows before flying down to the Quidditch supplies to free a couple of bludgers for the battle.

ivy steadied the guaffle in her grip and drifted towards the centre of the pitch as lucy set the blidgers free. "Ready, Steady... she said once they were both in the air. "GO" she shouted before she started to race towards the south hoops.

Lucy didn't try to hide a savage grin as she gripped her bat tightly and shot after one of the bludgers she had just released, muscles flexing as she aimed and wound up a powerful shot in Ivy's direction.

Ivy was speeding along the pitch. the quaffle in her hand. She heard the distinct sound of a bludger being hit and looked around to see one coming at her. lucy really meant it when she said she was going to target her. She tried to dodge but the bludger came at her hitting her in the thigh. "you werent joking were you?" she said

She made her way to the goals and threw the ball. glad that even though she had been hit she managed to score. she retrieved the ball and started on her way back.

Each hit of the bludger will be determined by a D6.
1-2 lucy misses/it goes very wide, 3 ivy doges/it is close and 4-6 the bludger hits

each shot is determined by a d6
initially, 1=miss, and 2 up are score. and with each hit she loses one to a miss. and she is out of the game when she has no chance of scoreing.
one shot can be taken per post.
for this round
bludger=5
quaffle=2

hits 1
score: 1

Lucy grinned at the sight of her bludger striking home, pumping her fist in victory. She groaned when a moment later Ivy managed a shot. Undeterred, Lucy circled round the pitch to strike the other blduger, grunting in frustration when she clipped it at a weird angle, sending the ball spinning off uselessly.

Ivy continued towards the goals the quaffle firmly in her grasp. She saw lucy with a bludger but was glad that it went wide. she took a shot and was glad to see it go in. This was easy. the cat was in the bag, and she was the cat. she reclaimed the quaffle and started back towards the south goals.

Role:4
