Standing at the ocean's edge, Faxen's caramel eyes looked out to the sea as the warm rays of the sun beat down on her. Paradise stretched out all around her, everywhere that she could see. A few days ago, Enzo had surprised her with a vacation to South America. He had taken the off of work to spend with her which she knew could not have been that easy. She wondered briefly if he had a deeper motivation than what she realized. Enzo had been a really good friend to her through the aftermath of the break-up. Faxen had tried moving on. For a while, she had dated Jeremy casually. They went out several times as they helped each other heal. However, it was soon clear to them both that they were better off as friends which was how it remained. It had been eight months since Faxen had seen her ex, Dymetris. Overall, the brunette felt as if she was over her former love. She didn't think about him nearly as much, and the thought of him did not bring tears to her eyes. In fact, Faxen thought that she was doing well. Really, the only time she thought about Dymetris was when she was alone on particularly dark nights. That was when she started missing him and what they had once had. Faxen was afraid that she would never have that feeling again. That feeling of longing, excitement, nerves, and anticipation that created butterflies in her stomach. That was what terrified the beautiful young girl the most. The idea that she might be alone for the rest of her days because she had turned down her soulmate. Though, she thought that she was doing well hiding any evidence that she still had feelings for him.
Faxen Lowart her slender body fit perfectly in a tiny bikini that was suitable for the setting around her. The brunette girl waded into the salty water, letting it hit her right around her calves. She had been enjoying herself the past few days. Enzo and Faxen were sharing a two bedroom suite, so they each had their own room which was a positive because she knew that it would only be a matter of time before Enzo picked up some girl. He had already been flirting with women on the beach. While she knew that she was no innocent, it still annoyed her that he would waste his time with those girls. They weren't right for him, at least in Faxen's opinion. He deserved someone wonderful and perfect. Faxen sincerely hoped that he would find that person. Even if she would never be completely happy again, Enzo deserved to find his soulmate.
However, it was pretty plain to see that that girl was not his soulmate. Faxen rolled her eyes at the ridiculous blonde girl. The best description she could give was common, but pretty. Faxen had never been the type to like sharing her time with Enzo's flirtations. He was several years older than she was, and she had been just a kid when they met. She had gotten used to the girls flirting with him in front of her. Only now, Faxen was gorgeous in her own right with her dark locks, caramel eyes, and olive skin. Enzo was the one having to get used to guys hitting on his friend. Faxen grew tired of waiting on Enzo. She sighed and waded out of the water. In her younger days, Faxen had found it fun to chase away the girls. Her mature side didn't allow her to do that right now. Instead, she headed for her lounge chair a few feet away. She looked out at the water, not realizing a slight frown appeared on her lips.
