Belladonna Metzger desperately wished that she hadn't chosen to wear heels to an engagement like this. For one, she couldn't even walk in heels on a normal basis, so how on earth could she expect herself to walk in them when she was barely wearing anything besides a dress? Stumbling into the Great Hall, Belladonna was instantly wowed by it's beauty. It looked just like a winter wonderland! Glittering silver and snowflakes were all over the place. Yet, it hardly felt cold within the hall! "This is why I love magic!" The young Gryffindor thought to herself as she admired the decorations. Barely a moment or two passed before she figured that she might as well go and mingle with the other students. Belladonna still hoped that she would make some more friends. Belladonna wanted a lot of friends to call as her own, but so far she seemed better at making enemies than she did anything else. Maybe with time they would find someone else to pick on, and then Belladonna would need to be less careful with the people she chose to be friends with. The moment the refreshments table came into view, Belladonna grinned. Despite how skinny she appeared, Belladonna was a bottomless pit. Which she was sure was going to bite her in the butt later.

Wobbling towards the refreshments table, Belladonna was sure she resembled a baby giraffe or something. Legs too long for it's body or something. It wasn't until she was halfway there that she finally became fed up with stumbling around, and paused to rip the heels off of her feet. Glancing around to make sure that no one was looking, Belladonna tossed the heels into the trash and made off like a rabbit during the hunt towards the refreshments table. The very thought of cakes, cookies, brownies, and punch made Belladonna's stomach quiver with hunger. "I really need to control my sweets consumption." Belladonna really loved anything sugary. That's why holiday's like this were the absolute best. All kinds of goodies were made and there was little judgement by others. After a few cupcakes were swallowed, Belladonna glanced around and saw that people were dancing. It looked like fun, so maybe she should get up and try dancing too?

Casey was disappointed at the way he had to go about going to the Yule Ball. The distance between he and Alison's common room meant that it made no sense for him to go all the way to the Gryffindor tower to meet her to come back to the Great hall, so they had agreed to meet at the ball. Casey, in nervous anticipation arrived early. The great hall was like nothing he had ever seen before. The wintery decor of the hall seemed to sharply contrast with the season but he knew that the tradition of the Yule ball came from places where winter fell at Christmas and looking around Casey imagined he would like that time of year to fall at the holidays. He loved the shimmering silver snowflakes that lined the hall, it was spectacular.

His eyes were then drawn to the refreshment table, and standing in front of the table was a young girl he knew to be in his own year devouring cakes. Casey could only smile and walk over to her, "Hey save some for the rest of us," He said hoping that she would take the comment as a charming and witty remark not as something mean. Casey knew that some first year girls were being bullied by their peers and the last thing Casey wanted was someone to take something he said as something offensive.

Belladonna nearly jumped when she heard a voice suddenly become directed towards her among the chatter filling the room right now. Although she didn't mind being spoken to, she hadn't expected anyone to actually come over and say something to her. Then again, she was probably blocking the table. "H-huh?" The blue-eyed Gryffindor turned her body towards the boy that had spoken to her. Immediately she noted that she didn't recognize him. Hopefully he didn't intend on causing trouble. Belladonna felt as if she had endured enough bullying to last her a lifetime. Finally it registered in her brain that he was telling her to save some for the rest of the students attending the ball. Belladonna lowered the cupcake she had plastered to her hand and then back at the boy. This continued for a good couple of minutes before the blonde shrugged her skinny shoulders and popped the remainder of the cupcake into her mouth. Apparently this boy had no idea how severe her sugar tooth was. He didn't sound like he was trying to be mean though, so perhaps he was just trying to initiate a conversation between the two of them. What a clever angle to come in from. Food was clearly a powerful weakness of Belladonna's.

"If they want these sugary treats, they'll have to pry them from my cold, dead fingers first. They're a weakness of mine." Belladonna grinned, trying to show that she was merely joking around. As soon as that was done, the blonde felt around until her fingers came to grasp a sugar cookie covered in silvery blue sprinkles. It was gorgeous to look at, but she was pretty sure that it would feel even more beautiful once it was inside her belly. Belladonna took a bite, then gestured for the boy to take a cookie too. It was sort of awkward gorging on sweets all alone. "Seriously, these cookies kick ass-erm.....butt. Sorry, gotta learn to watch my mouth." Her dad would freak if he ever heard Belladonna talking like that. Whether it was because she was only twelve, or if it was because he was old fashioned and liked it better when ladies were sweet and lady-like. Too bad he had a troll for a daughter. Yes, Belladonna considered herself to be a complete and utter troll for the most part. The kids who often made fun of her did a good job at making her feel like she was one half of the time, so Belladonna figured she might as well just go along with it.
