Christmas Trees and Ribbon Bows

Aroha dressed according to color, unsure about it but wearing it anyway. She looked into the full length mirror of the dorm, hoping it was okay. She was entirely unused to heels, and the second year hated dressing up. But, she reminded herself, it would be worth it to see Mikkie. Aroha hadn't seen her boyfriend in a few weeks now, having been so busy with exams lately. She stepped out of the commonroom's portrait, following a gaggle of giggling girls down to the great hall. "Mikkie!" she exclaimed cheerfully upon spotting him. "How did your exams go?" She looked at him seriously. "I hope you did alright." then she laughed. Aroha couldn't stay serious when she was with him. "Come on, we'd better go inside before the hall fills up too much." Stepping inside the hall, Aroha looked at the christmas trees and sighed, remembering her tree at home, which always used to be covered in little ribbons as a decoration. Shaking her head slightly to remove the image from her brain, Aroha recognised a few other people that she knew.
