Blair couldn't believe that it was already half a year since she moved to New Zealand and what more she couldn't believe was the fact that here Christmas was in summer. What the hell New Zealand? Christmas in summer? How did that happen? But she was totally enjoying that snow that was in the hall. Snow was the best part of winter that was in Russia now, so she felt like she was closer to home. Still she was kinda sad about the fact that snowflakes faded without actually touching her. But she was acting like it didn't upset her at all, she had a plate of snacks in her hand and she was slow dancing with herself while eating those snacks.

@Theia Carnahan

Theia didn’t expect it, but she was growing more fond of attending the Yule Ball with each passing year. She remembered feeling disgusted by the other students’ excitement of it in her first and second years, then feeling uncomfortable, but slightly exhilarated over the fact she had a blind date and needed to dress up for her third year. Now that it was her fourth year, and she had actually found a black dress she liked enough to wear and had spent time brushing her hair and applying some make up, she didn’t feel so out of place. She felt like she was part of it all and realized she might be able to actually enjoy herself if she tried. It was a weird feeling, but Theia tried not to fight it, and quickly headed for the snack table as she entered the hall. Theia picked up a plate and some sweets, soon turning around and looking for a place to sit, and noticing all the tables were basically taken. Pursing her lips, Theia looked around the room and noticed a girl simultaneously slow dancing and eating. Theia tilted her head to one side, then decided she may as well take a page out of the girls book. Regardless of how awkward she felt, and the chance of dropping her own plate and making a mess, she moved to stand next to the girl and sway along to the music, as she slowly began to eat as well. “Hey, all the tables are taken.” Theia greeted thinking if she spoke and explained her reasoning she would seem less weird, if it were possible. “I’m Theia.” She introduced, nodding to the girl and then glancing around the rest of the hall for moment.

Blair was still enjoying her own company as she heard unknown voice, she fastly turned around and smiled at other girl, but she understood that she haven't seen her before. She fastly looked around to see if girl actually was talking to her and when she understood that she chose the place where she was almost alone, she finally understood that girl was talking to her and that she already even said her name. "I'm Blair, nice to meet you." she answered with her Russian accent and then understood that she didn't exactly understand how does the girl pronounce her name. "Ugh, can you, please, repeat your name? I didn't exactly get the way it's pronounced. Like Tayah or Teeah?" she awkwardly smiled and hoped that other girl won't find it rude. Blair simply hated to get other people name wrong.

Theia picked up a cookie from her plate and bit into it, chewing for a moment, and then looking back to the girl as she responded. Theia covered her mouth as she spoke, not wanting to be rude and chew with her mouth full. “Blair, got it.” She responded, trying to memorize the name in her mind so she wouldn’t forget it. Thankfully by the time Blair asked how to pronounce her name, Theia had eaten her bite and could speak freely. “Oh, its “Thee-Ah.” She corrected. “You can say it however though, I don’t care.” She then added with a shrug, not caring whether the girl got her name wrong. Theia then bit into her cookie again and chewed idly, looking around the hall again and then back to Blair. The fact she felt more in place than she ever had at the ball that year, didn’t keep her from feeling self conscious slightly, the more she thought about it. The fact she was standing and dancing, and eating next to a girl didn’t help that fact. She hoped she didn’t stick out too much from the crowd, and that no one was watching her. “Uh, anyway, Blair, are you here with anyone?” Theia asked after a little while, trying to make conversation.
