Charms 4:4

Lyra smiled as the last of her students walked in. She stood up, readjusting her ribes. “Good morning, everyone,” she greeted. When they were all seated, she began to move slowly across the front of the room. “Today we’ll be doing the Muffliato Charm and the Silencing Charm. What does the Muffliato charm do?” She asked, calling on a student with their hand raised. “Very good,, five points. The Muffliato Charm creates an unidentifiable buzzing noise which stops anyone being able to overhear your conversations that they’re not supposed to hear,” she reiterated, walking slowly.

“Now, can anyone tell me the difference between the Silencing Charm and the Quietening Charm?” she asked, her hands clasped in front of her. “Exactly right! Five points, dear,” she smiled warmly before continuing on. “The Quietening Charm reduces noise, but the Silencing Charm will stop all sound,” she repeated.

“There’s no movement for this beyond just pointing at your target, and the incantations are as follows,” she motioned for everyone to repeat after her. “Muffliato, muff-LEE-ato, is for the first spell of course, and si-LEN-see-oh is Silencio, our second spell.” She ran over the pronunciation a few more times, making sure the students understood, before moving on. “Pair up, everyone, and practice these for the rest of the lesson. I am right here if you need any assistance.” She promised.

Teddy made himself comfy in Charms class, listening to the professor and raising his hand to answer the first question, "It allows for private conversations by creating an unidentifiable buzzing noise in the ears of anyone nearby,." Teddy answered, nodding along when the professor basically repeated back what he said. Teddy also raised his hand to answer the second question but wasn't chosen to answer. He spent the rest of the lesson paired up with a partner practicing the charms and thinking about how useful these spells will be. At the end of the lesson, he thanked Professor Potter and left the classroom.

Callie walked into the charms classroom and took her usual spot in the room. She glanced at the professor at the front of the class as the woman got started on what they would be covering within this lesson, the muffiato and the silencing charm. Callie didn't raise her hand to answer the question on what the former spell did, just letting someone elese do so. She then took a note of what the professor said on it it, and then on the differences, which was interesting and good to know. She nodded and repeated the incantation as the professor went over them and then they were allowed to pair up and practice the spells. She took the time to practice both spells within the lesson. She liked these spells a lot more than the ones from the last lesson. Eventually the lesson was wrapped up and she was able to pack up and leave the room.

Elodie was starting to feel worn out, working too hard to try and get her wand to behave. The stress was keeping her awake later and had her up earlier. She was worn out, and it was starting to drag her down. A part of her thought that she didn't need to try this hard, but another louder part was screaming over it, convincing her that she had to do this, had to get it right, that she had to do well if she wanted Byron to be proud of her.

She tried to focus on that, stopping in the girls room and trying to wake herself up enough for her next class. She felt better with a freshly washed face, so hiking her bag on her shoulder again she hurried to Charms. Even if she desperately wanted to skip this class in particular. Trembling, she took her seat, trying to still her hands and listening quietly to the lecture. This was going to be difficult, she kne. Deciding she'd rather not do this in front of everyone, Elodie just reviewed her notes, letting her partner practice with her without ever taking out her own wand.

Tired, and afraid of being stopped, Elodie jumped up as soon as they were dismissed and hurried from the room, heart pounding furiously in her chest.

Enoch walked into the charms classroom and took his usual spot in the room. He glanced up at the professor as she told them what they'd be doing, both of these spells were going to prove to be exceedingly useful to him when he was tryng to practice his flute in the dorm. He for once, actually leaned forward to be able to really listen to what the spells did and the incantation, the professor did however start with an exceedingly pointless few questions before they were allowed to practice. He paired up with someone, he wasn't even sure who it was, but it didn't matter, he just focused on what he was doing and practiced the spells over and over until he could do both. He headed out the room when he then could.

Lucy was feeling worn out, but she entered the charms classroom anyway. She noticed Teddy, whom she was still a bit miffed at, answer the first question. She raised her hand to answer the second. "The Quietening Charm reduces noise, but the Silencing Charm will stop all sound,” Lucy said. She'd actually done this week's readings, which was a plus. They then partnered up, Lucy practicing the charms with her partner. It was going decently well, in fact, she was almost having fun when the lesson came to an end.
