Professor Jacqueline Black had been amongst the first to arrive to the Great Hall for the Yule Ball. As a professor, she felt it was her duty to come to the ball in order to help keep an eye on the students. There was no telling what could happen when this many teen-aged hormones were all in one place. Several different years in the past, she remember fights occurring. Of course, the two that stood out most vividly in her mind had loosely involved her daughter. The second reason that Jacqueline had made certain to attend the dance was so that she could keep watch over her adoptive daughter, Azolla Loncar. Jacqueline had heard that she was seeing this Michael boy, the one that she had attended the Halloween dance with. The dark-haired woman was responsible for Azolla and she had promised the girl's deceased mother that she would keep her safe. Jacqueline intended to keep her promise.
The Transfiguration Professor had dressed for the occasion in a fine, beautiful lacy black dress. It was rare for her students to see her in anything other than her typical robes. The woman smiled and greeted those students that she recognized as she strolled through the hall. After a few moments, she decided to go over to the food table as she filled a plate for herself. Jacqueline took the plate over to the Staff table. She took a seat where she could still see the majority of the hall. The woman was also watching for her daughter-in-law. Any day now, Cyndi would be giving birth. Jacqueline had promised her son that she would make sure the younger Professor did not over exert herself.
