Catharsis, And An Escape

Dominik tripped as Nicolae pulled him out of the way of the spell that Yvan cast towards him. He narrowed in on their ex-best friend. "We're done." he said simply, trying to calm himself so that he didn't retort. He turned to walk out with Nic when he heard Rhyspa say some very smart ass remark towards him. He smirked at her, "There is no doubt about me being a real man dear. Only it's not my nose that grows about a foot." With that, Dominik turned and stormed off down the stairs and out of the North Tower.

Kat stood there in shock as Yvan tried to curse Dominik. She couldn't help but crack a small grin when Rhyspa yelled at Nic and Dom, but that was quickly cut short at Dom's absurd and perverted response to her. Kat took in a deep breath trying to calm herself, but it didn't help much. Her wrist was sore and so was her heart. She dropped to her knees and buried her face in her hands, crying uncontrollably.

Yvan's chest was heaving as he glared after Nic and Dom while they turned and trudged down the staircase. He wanted so badly to charm the stairs flat and watch the pair fall the rest of the way, but reluctantly suppressed the urge. He had to reign in his anger and control it before he found himself doing something he would really regret later.
Pocketing his wand, he regained his composure quickly and then turned slowly to meet Katerina's eyes. He wasn't sure what to do, whether to comfort her or let her be. He was at odds with what he wanted and what was sensible. So he quickly tore his gaze away, ashamed of himself.

Katerina stared blankly at the scene before her. Her head won out - she said no more, not wishing to intensify the confrontation. She watched, without really seeing, as Nic and Dom left the North Tower (finally, she thought). She was jolted out of her reverie by the sound of Katalina's tears. Katerina bit her lip, unsure of what to do. Her eyes met briefly with Yvan's - before he quickly looked away. Katerina took a deep breath and wiped her eyes. "I am so sorry," she whispered. "All of you, I am really, really sorry," she said, a little louder. "Katalina, Rhyspa, I'm really sorry you had to deal with that," she apologised, a little awkward. "And, um, Yvan..." she began, her voice shaking, not with anger but with nerves, "I'm so sorry about everything that happened tonight. I was really looking forward to going to the ball with you," she said, blushing profusely. "And then everything was ruined. I'm so sorry. It's all my fault." She broke off, unsure of what else to say. She knew she'd ruined everything, and she felt terrible about it.

((Whoops! Forgot about this one... :r: Gonna make a quick exit now :p ))

"Oh Katerina please don't apologize. It's not in any way your fault and I don't want you to think on it for another minute." Kat said wiping her eyes, looking at the older girl meaningfully. "Those two ogres are meaningless and I'd like to think that I made a new friend tonight." she added, trying to push a smile across her face.

Kat stood up and tried to dust off her dress, but it was no use. She looked a horrible mess now and there was no since in trying to fix it. "I...urm, I think I'm going to go to bed now. I'm only one floor down so I'm fine to go alone." She gave Rhyspa a look that told her friend she'd be okay and then went to hug her. She turned to Katerina and then gave her a small hug, not wanting to overstep her boundaries. Kat then turned to Yvan and gave a small smile and meekly waved at him saying, "Thanks!" With that she turned and headed to Gryffindor house, wanting to just curl up in her nice warm bed and forget about tonight.
