Tamas grinned as he waited for Frances to come to the door. He had some fun for them tonight, it was a little bit on the childish side of things but you really couldn't take yourself seriously all the time, you'd end up having an ulcer. He just hoped that she wasn't stuck on going out somewhere fancy because he could afford it easily, he just wanted to try out that muggle life style that she was so acquainted with. He wanted to get to know the beautiful woman he was waiting for more than he had ever wanted to get to know someone in his entire life. And they had met on rather interesting terms which would likely have frightened him off if he had not connected with her. But she had made a presumption when he touched her that had caused their lips to touch and since then he had not wanted to take them apart for very long.

Putting his hands in his jeans he turned his shoulders away from the door and watched the sky slowly turn from day to night with a mix of pink, orange, purple and blue hues. He really had chosen a perfect night for this and he hoped that she wouldn't mind that he would probably be completely out of his comfort zone with the muggles that would be around them at this carnival. The man only hoped that she didn't like heights because he certainly didn't and he did not want to make a fool of himself by not being able to go onto a stupid ride because of his fears.

Frances didn't exactly know how to get 'all dolled up' perhaps once upon a time she did, back before she had twins and literally let herself go. So as she stood in front of the mirror and pulled at her face, feeling for wrinkles across her forehead, she felt old. Despite only being in her early thirties, Frances had found out pretty quickly how children could age you, and that was very fast to say the least. As per usual, the blond was running late, and she only had thirty minutes to decide on a dress and do something with the mess that was her hair, so as a last resort she called on her twin daughters as a last resort, hoping they could offer some sort of advice, after borrowing a pair of casual heels and managing to find some form of dress that was void of any creases, Frances Alexandra was all ready to go out on her first date since she was seventeen, and the denim cutoff jacket and floral print really showed that she was well behind on the prospect of fashion. The whole dating thing was more than a little daunting, especially noting how Frances had met Tamas, this date could be more than a little awkward, though the thirty-four year old hoped it would go the other way, and she and Tamas would have a wonderful time. As Frances looked in the mirror of her worn mirror she forced a smile across her lips, that pricked gently at her cheeks. She was going to be fine, she just had to take a deep breath in.

Frances took one last deep breath, feeling silly that she was a grown woman, and was scared of her first date. It was like being seventeen all over again, the stress that the single mother certainly didn't need. Hearing a light tapp of knuckles against the door of her modest apartment, the mother hurried to the door and flattened her hair down with her fingers one last time. Frances smiled at the sky above, it was a warm night, the sky now a brilliant shade of pink, the clouds like candyfloss, almost as if they had matched their plans, just for this special night. She was anxious to open the door, knowing that the butterflies in her stomach would disappear as soon as she saw his face, hey, if she could get through thinking he thought she was a prostitute, surely a measly old date couldn't be that scary, right? And she was right. A huge smile spread across Frances' face as her cheeks blushed a schoolgirl shade of pink. Hey Tamas," she started, desperately trying to sound casual. She was so excited they were going to a carnival tonight, she was going to be in her element, and couldn't wait to show Tamas what muggle entertainment was like, and maybe she could even sink her teeth into some sugary candyfloss, the way she did when she was just a teenager.

Tamas turned his head to see Frances and immediately smiled. She was like a breath of fresh air, a real human being who made mistakes and smiled. It was so unlike the drones he had known all his life and to be around this woman made him feel like a human as well. "Hi," he said breathlessly before he stepped in closer to her and kissed her cheek gently. "You look beautiful," he said although she didn't have to get dressed up for him because he was sure that she would always look beautiful and as corny as that was it really was true. They had seen one another several times before he had gathered enough courage to actually ask her out on a date instead of just coming to her shop to speak to her or meeting up at The Three Broomsticks and each time she had been in the forefront of his mind for days. Their interesting start to this relationship was possibly what caused them to be able to want to learn more about how each other's mind worked because it certainly was different. Stepping back to an appropriate length he smiled to see her cheeks pink, she was lovely and endearing. Tamas Mauven was completely enamored with the woman in front of him and it was only the first date which would say a lot about their relationship, he assumed.

Part of Tamas felt that he could very well stay here and talk with her and be as happy as a duck in water but he knew that it would also be fun to go to the carnival, he only hoped that there wasn’t anything with heights there like the London Eye because he was terrible with heights and he wasn’t sure if he was ready to reveal the sniveling girl side of himself to Frances yet. And even with that in mind he offered her his hand to hold and asked, "Ready?" Having ended up kissing when they first met, he thought that she would be fine with holding his hand but if she wasn’t or if his palms got sweaty from anxiety and she didn’t want to hold his hand that would be fine. Tamas was not a child that needed to be held onto for fear they would run in front of a car and neither was Frances but he would still stay close to her as this was a date. The only date he thought that it might be acceptable to separate from one another would be an art museum because art was something personal – or so he had felt. It was why he usually went to art galleries by himself when he had the chance to go to the better ones. Excluding the Louvre. He had never been because he had no patience to wait in a line for the whole day just to see a painting he didn’t like that much. But until he knew more about Frances he wouldn’t even offer that as an option because if she hated visual art (though he wasn’t sure he could be with someone who hated art as it was a big part of his life not that he could paint) it would bore her to pieces while he would be very pleased and that just wouldn't be something that would end well.

"Hi." Frances echoed back to Tamas, immediately feeling stupid that she couldn't think of anything better than the simple greeting to say to him, especially when her cheeks blushed the red of roses once more as he complimented her hurridly thrown together outfit. The feeling of his slightly rough lips against her soft cheeks was almost enough to make her knees weak, and the palm of her hand immediately went to that very cheek as if to fill the space his lips were no longer against. "Thankyou" she replied rather quietly and sheepishly. "You do to." she replied a little too fast, and as she realised how clumsy her reply was she wanted to run out of the room. "I mean you don't look beautfiul," she said, digging a deeper hole for herself "I mean you look good, just not," she was getting flustered now and all she could think to say to clear up this mess was that she thought he looked handsome, why couldn't she have just said that? "You know what I mean." she said hopefully, wanting to bury her head in her hands. This really was like a first date, though not between two adults, it seemed more like they were two nervous teenagers, who had barely had contact with the opposite sex, let alone birthed two children. It was stupid and corny but that was the way that Frances felt, there was something about Tamas that made her feel both nervous and completely comfortable at the same time. The little butterflies in her stomach were a good feeling, there was definate chemistry between the two, and the mother knew that she would forever be in debt to Kalani for setting the two up. Sure, the way they had met wasn't exactly normal, but it sure was a story to tell their kids about. Not that Frances would admit that she was thinking about having his children just yet, she didn't want to get too ahead of herself, and it already looked like she had royally screwed things up.

Looking desperately up at Tamas, Frances hoped that he did know what she meant, and that he didn't think she had just called him ugly, because he was anything but that. With her fingers playing awkwardly with the sleeve of her jacket she forced a smile across her face. "Ready." she confirmed when her date asked her if she was. Her sweaty palm reached for his, hoping the whole hand holding business wasn't going to be awfulw with the clammyness of her palms. There was one more thing to do, apparate, something that Frances hadn't done in a long time, preferring to take muggle transportation like the customers of her store, but she had taken her apparition lessons back when she was at Hogwarts, she just hoped like hell she was still able to do it, that it wasn't something that was easily forgotten. So, closing her eyes, Frannie hung onto Tamas' hand ever so tightly, as if she could lose him at any minute, and imagined the carnival so vividly in her mind. With a crack the pair disappeared from her doorstep, leaving Lani and Riley behind, and landed softly onto grass, standing right before the ferris wheel in all it's glory. Frances smiled towards Tamas, knowing exactly which ride she wanted to go on first.

Tamas found himself terribly amused with Frances and was already falling for her rambling and uncomfortable response to his truth. It wasn’t necessary for her to call him handsome, he didn’t care too much about his looks anyway but it was sweet. “You don’t have to be so nervous,” he said reassuringly as he smiled down at the blonde woman that he wanted nothing more than to kiss those pink cheeks and hold her. Frances was very charming and enthralling and could only be happy that he was around her and had the chance to take her out on a date with him to this carnival so that the option might be there for him to do this. But not to be too forward he was not going to, he would show some restraint even if that was the last thing he wanted to do. But as he looked at Frances and saw her weak smile, he knew that he would have to, Tamas knew that to loosen her up and to get her more comfortable around him they would have to have fun and loose themselves in their date instead of dwelling on their anxieties. And as their hands held together he glanced over at her and smiled softly. Tamas did not feel the clamminess of Frances' hands because his own were equally as sweaty and he hoped that she did not mind that he was anxious despite telling her that she didn't have to worry about silly social rules. He was just nervous about being around a woman so beautiful - it was like he was a teenager when he got nervous around the popular, smart, gorgeous girl at Durmstrang and he would become tongue tied. But now he was thirty-four and he couldn't act like a teenager anymore so he tried to calm himself as he watched her get ready to apparate them. He hoped that she often apparated because he didn’t exactly feel like being splinched on their first date; it probably wouldn’t bode well for their relationship if he did because they had already gone through a lot – what with Frances thinking that he was calling her a prostitute and all. But until he gave it a shot with them, they would never know if their relationship would be a good one although he hoped so because he already felt himself falling for her.

As they teleported from her front step to the carnival he had held her hand tighter, Tamas wanted Frances to know that he was there beside her. And when they were on the grass he let out a deep breath and looked at her and then himself to see if either of them were splinched. But they weren’t so he grinned at her. “So what do you want to go on first?” he asked, hoping and praying to some sort of force that she hated heights just like he did and that she would not want to go on the large ride that was in front of them that he eyed frightfully. Of course he would go with her but he would still be afraid to go on it and probably cower like a lost little boy in front of a stranger. It really was a crippling fear and not to mention embarrassing, especially in this situation.

Frances was rather pleased with herself once she fully realised that the two of them had arrived at their destination quite safely, being splinched wouldn't exactly be a great idea of a first date, then again none of Tamas' and Frances' meetings had been that normal. Smiling to herself she remembered where she was as she heard Tamas speaking to her. The thirty four year old didn't need to give the question a second thought, because she knew at once that the carnival ride before them was exactly what she wanted to go on first. Looking back at Tamas she hoped he wanted to ride the ferris wheel too, and that he wasn't at all scared of heights. How could he be anyway, it didn't seem plausable, so Frances shrugged her shoulders to herself, her smile now beaming. "Come on Tamas! Let's ride the ferris wheel!" she said so enthusiastically as she pulled at his hand, she wanted to get in quick before the line got any longer. The young mother was already feeling like a teenager again, in fact she could remember taking Kalani and Riley when they were only a few years old, and deciding not to bring them back again after one of them threw up on the merry go round. As Tamas and Frances stood in line she squeezed his hand, just to let him know she was there for him, there was something about his expression that looked a little anxious, but for now she brushed it off as first date nerves and placed a small peck on his cheek.

As the line slowly got shorter and shorter, Frances grew more and more excited, feeling just a little silly that she was so pleased to be going on a ferris wheel at age thirty-four, but somehow she knew that Tamas wouldn't think she was too childish, afterall, having the twins at seventeen meant that she had missed out on being a silly teenager, swapping it up for changing nappies and pushing strollers wasn't exactly her idea of fun, but looking back on her two daughters, she knew she wouldn't change one little bit of her life. Not even her embarassing first meeting with Tamas. The pair had finally reached the front of the line when Frances almost did a little jump, looking back at her date to see if he was going to pay for the ride or not, and moving in a little closer to him, just so that the questionable man standing behind the ticket desk knew that she was here with a man, something she hadn't flaunted in years. "Are you excited?" she asked Tamas, as she took in the full height of the ride, she sure was excited and she hoped that he was too, this was shaping up to be her perfect first date.

Tamas was a tall man like all the men in his family and even some of the women. Most had grown to embrace it and Tamas had for the most part but he was still frightened of heights so when he had to ride a broom (which was rare because this mode of travel took far too long in his opinion) or even step up on stairs and look over the edge his face became flush but he didn’t have time for these reactions to take place when Frances had taken his hand and pulled him towards the queue. He swallowed hard and tried to convince himself that there was nothing to be afraid of, that muggles had to have strong materials and they wouldn’t break while he was on it and he wouldn’t fall. It couldn’t be that high anyway, he thought in a desperate attempt to stop himself from giving Frances some pathetic excuse for not being able to go on the ferris wheel. In fact, as they shuffled forward in the line he was creating elaborate reasons why, like his healer telling him that he couldn’t go up high or that he saw loose bolts. However, it only stressed him out more and as he felt a kiss pressed to his cheek, he looked over at Frances and smiled. At least until she would see what heights did to him, they would have had a chance at a relationship but as he stood in front of a man that looked rather haggard waiting for payment he knew he was out of luck for anything to come of it, which was unfortunate because he really liked her. “Yes,” he answered, aware that he was lying but he thought that maybe it was for the best that he did so. Maybe if he lied to her and to himself that they weren’t going to be up in the air, way above the ground that would kill them on impact, he could get through it and wouldn’t have to tell her that the reason his heart was beating so loudly was not because of her touch.

Tamas reached into the pockets of his jeans and paid the man for the pair of them and they were allowed to go on. He let Frances in first and as she settled in he looked away from her momentarily and onto the horizon, expecting that this would be the last time that he saw it before his death. He certainly was glad that he and Simone were on good terms because as he sat down beside Frances and they were buckled in – not too securely in his opinion – he saw his life flash before his eyes. It hadn’t been a particularly amazing one but it was his and he had liked it. Kissing Frances’ cheek gently he leaned back into the seat and gripped onto the safety bar tightly, his hands beginning to ache as he did so but he needed that hold as it started to move. The man’s breathing became shallow and he closed his eyes, making it painfully clear that he was actually quite terrified to be up so high.

Ever since Frances had been a little girl, canivals had been the most magical experience, despite the fact that they were completely run by muggles. Even now, as a thirty-four year old, her eyes were wide with wonder and awe as she and Tamas mounted the ferris wheel, the creme de la creme of the whole the night for her. Being a complete gentleman, Frances wasn't suprised that Tamas paid for both of the tickets, lucky for Frances, the Muggle Market hadn't exactly been taking in much money now that students were well into their studies back at Hogwarts. Being at the carnival, emerged in a completely muggle atmosphere didn't bother the mixed blood woman one bit, in fact she loved being immered in such a different world, which was the main reason that she owned the market in the first place. There was something so enchanting about learning of a completely different world to the one you live in. An experience she imagined was akin to that of living in a completely different country. Frances had begun to consider herself a muggle expert per say, after moving out of her magical surroundings at age seventeen, and lately simply owning a muggle store. She had often imagined herself as a Professor of muggle studies at Hogwarts, perhaps that was something to aim for in the future, she pondered as she and Tamas were buckled into their seats and the ride was about to begin.

As the ferris wheel slowly rose up, and a breath of fresh air blew over Frances' blond hair, she noticed just how tightly her companion was gripping onto the safety bar in front of them both. Almost as if he were holding on for his dear life. Surely not, Frances thought to herself, shaking her head to herself before noticing the stricken look upon Tamas' face. A light kiss was placed so tenderly against her cheek, but she wasn't convinced as Tamas closed her eyes. "Have you er, ever been on one of these before?" she asked, trying to be polite and not make it seem as if she were poking fun at him. But despite the worry inside Tamas, the ride rose up and the rode at least three times around before a screeching, almost deafening Frances, rang through the carnival grounds. Just as the couple's seat approached the climax of the ride - It stopped, and rather abruptly at that. Frances' lower lip stuck out in a slight pout, rather disappointed that it seemed their ride would be cut short, her mind immediately thinking of how she would demand the fare of the tickets back. But if Tamas truly was scared of heights, it seemed that the mother had alot more to worry about than getting a refund. "Tamas, are you okay?" she asked gingerly, taking his hand in hers and squeezing it tightly.

Tamas was quickly finding that he wished he had not taken Frances to a carnival for their first date. It was really a bad idea ad he was regretting it as they moved with the rest of the riders that were surely condemned to and would all die in a ghastly fall thanks to this oversized wheel. As he was asked if he had ever gone on this Ferris wheel he opened an eye and looked at her before he shook his head to tell her that no, he had not. There was a first time for everything, this one just happened to be the last thing he would do. And as they came to a screeching halt he knew that he was going to die. Tamas looked at the woman he was with as she asked if he was okay before looking down at their hands as they held each other. He knew that some might think that his fear was foolish, bearing in mind just how tall he was, but he liked his feet firmly planted on the ground. “I’m… just a little bit afraid of heights,” he admitted with a frown as he looked into her blue eyes. He took one hand, hesitantly from the bar and cupped her cheek with it, he found himself frowning as he looked at her because he earnestly felt that this was the last time they would see one another because they would fall to their doom. He had even felt like he was falling in love with her – even if this was the first date. Frances’ qualities and traits were simply enchanting and her personality made him just be happy from spending time with her. The change in him had been actually noticeable from his employees.

A boggart was typically something that people were afraid of which was something like a snake or a person. It was something physical while Tamas Ludwig Mauven’s boggart was height and when he said ‘ridikulus’ the bottomless pit that disparaged him turned into something, albeit, amusing but he was still shaken from it. However, he knew this was not a boggart. He was about to die right on this ride and now his hands were sweating so he was perspiring on Frances. This was not exactly the way he wanted to die, he had wanted children and a wife before but at least he wouldn't be alone. Simone would be a good daughter and grieve for him, it was just sad that Frances had to lose her life and that her daughters would lose their mother. Taking his hand from her cheek he put it down on the bar again and gripped tightly to it. “Well… I guess we’re going to die now,” he said, as calmly as he could, wishing he could apparate out of here with her but it was more important for magic to be a secret than for him to be alive.

A sort of silly smile spread across Frances' lips as Tamas admitted his fear of heights, she had assumed as much, though it was still a slight shock to her, never having known a grown man to be scared of such a thing. But in a way there was something about seeing him in such a vulnerable position that made her love him even more - love, did she just say love? It seemed silly that whilst they had only been together a few times, that she was already falling in love with him, what a cliche, she thought to herself. As he cupped her cheek and his brow furrowed slightly, her head tilted, she didn't quite understand what he was thinking would happen to them, surely he didn't think they were going to die? But still, the thirty four year old gave Tamas a look of understanding, trying not to make him feel like a child, because it was the exact same look she had given Riley and Lani when they were younger. "You'll be fine, just, don't look down?" she said unsurely, desperately trying to calm him, and hoping it was the right thing to say, she wasn't exactly an expert on height, or fears of it. Frances placed her hands on his shoulder, partly to comfort him, and partly to escape the influx of sweat that was sticking their palms together, he really was afraid of heights.

"You don't actually think we're going to -" but Frances didn't even need to finish her sentence when Tamas spoke, declaring that they were about to share their last minutes on earth together. No wonder her had been looking at her as though it was the last time he had seen her face, he really did think that the pair of them would surely perish at the hands of the ferris wheel. Squeezing his shoulder tightly, Frances embraced him, her arms wrapping around him as if for dear life, she had been so sure that these old things were safe, but now that Tamas was planting doubt in her life she was seriously considering her dying thoughts. "You're going to be fine, it's just a little...stuck" she reassured him, and herself, though she wasn't going to admit that she was slightly concerned for Tamas, almost like a mother would be with her child. "They get like this all the time" she bluffed, as if this was a regular occurance for her. Frances dared to lean over the side of the safety bar, searching for the questionable 'carnie' that had handed them the tickets, surely he would just push a few buttons and they would be away again? She certainly didn't want to die!

Tamas shook his head softly as Frances suggested that he not look down. Sure that was one thing to do but the knowledge that he did not have his feet firmly placed on the ground plagued him and perhaps this was what he was afraid of. As Frances placed her gentle hands on his shoulders he couldn't help but feel relieved, even if it was only a smidgen. There was something about her that brought him great joy and as he looked into her eyes he was sorrowful that this would be the last time he would get to see them because he could have seen himself grow old with her, he could see them having children and just loving one another because even if it was a little fast, he did love her. As he waited for the chair to fall to their impending doom, his mind repeated scenes from Hamlet, specifically the great soliloquies. His surname, no matter how powerful it was, was not known by the worms that would feast on his flesh once he was dead and the fact that he would die at a carnival made him certain that his family would not put him in the crypt like the rest of his ancestors were. He would be put to rest like a muggle, six feet into the ground for worms to equalize the level of his purity to that of a muggle born or a muggle. As a young man, Tamas had always convinced himself that he would have a dying declaration that was one that would be remembered, perhaps like Che Guevera’s. His last words were brilliant “Shoot, coward, you are only going to kill a man” and Tamas had nothing witty to pull off now except for ‘I knew going to a carnival would be a bad idea’ but the only positive side of his failure at wit was that no one would be able to record his last words and no one would care.

As Frances wrapped her arms around him, he did the same, placing his palms flat over her back and embracing the body that was still foreign to him. When she told Tamas that the Ferris wheels often got stuck he said, “I certainly hope you are right because I’ve finally found a woman that I really like." Tamas looked at her, making it clear he was speaking about her before he added, "It would be horrible if just meeting you was the climax of my life.” It was true that he already wanted more from their relationship. He wanted it to actually be a relationship. Someday he wanted to have a family and a wife and as he held Frances close to him he knew that he could have had that with her, despite the less than idyllic meeting. However, this was simply not the case and he just had to accept that as he held Frances that it would be the last time he did so.

The deep hug that Frances recieved back didn't do anything to pacify her, it only made her worry more. Tamas really did think this was the end, and he was clinging to her as if it would be the last time. No, Frances wasn't going to admit defeat, as she pulled away from her beau's embrace she faked a smile, wishing that life was the wizard of Oz, so she could take Tamas to recieve some courage. Sitting up straight in the seat, the thirty-four year old decided that she had enough courage for the both of them, but they stayed stuck. It didn't look like the ride was going anywhere anytime soon, and the sky was beginning to grow darker. Letting Tamas cling to her like she would have with her own children, she began to cling back, surely this wasn't it? There was so much she wanted to do with her life, so much she wanted to do with Tamas. Clearly in her mind she could see them getting married, having children of their own and living happily ever after, an end like this would mean that none of that could happen. At least if these were their dying moments, they had eachother. The situation at hand was only made truer as it seemed that through the worry and fear, Tamas was trying yo speak his last words, and once Frances realised that he was talking about her, a tear pricked at the corner of her eye. Stuttering, she tried to think of a worthy reply, but all she could think to do was plant a big sloppy kiss on that man's mouth, so leaning in to him and cupping his face in her soft hands, she let her lips graze his, and kiss him deeper than she had ever kissed before.

As their lips locked and eyelids closed the butterflies in Frances' stomach disappeared, and was replaced by an odd lurch, but still their lips stayed connected as though they were one person, Frances wasn't going to let him go now, by no means would she ever let him get away. But the lurching feeling in her stomach continued, it almost felt as though they were moving, and that they were. As the couple kissed eachother's faces off, the Ferris Wheel lurched into movement and began turning once more. Her eyes stayed closed so tightly and her lips clung to Tamas' with force, and in a few short minutes their seat was lowered to the ground, and the safety bar lifted above their heads as they were greeted with a puff of smoke coming from a rather portly man, supposedly the owner of the death trap they had just ridden. "Get a room" he jeered, wanting them to step off of the ride, it seemed their turn was up. And Frances wasn't thinking about the fact that she had been right, or that she needed to get their ticket money back, because standing with her hands on Tamas' chest, she knew that she had come so close to death, and it had found her the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.

Tamas would never have thought that his fear would bring him closer to Frances but as their lips locked he was almost glad that they had gone on the Ferris Wheel because he could be closer to her. They could die holding each other and kissing and as he tasted the sweetness of her lips he knew that it would be a fine way to 'kick the bucket' as they say. Screw wit, he had the woman he... well the woman he loved beside him and kissing him. And as they did this, he felt his head spin and his stomach lurch so he moved in closer to Frances because he thought that this was the Ferris Wheel collapsing beneath them but as they kissed he did not care. His mind was on thoughts of just her. But just as the lurch came to a halt he stopped momentarily, to check if they were both alive before returning to her vigorously, they were not in any pain but they were told to 'Get a room' and that was when he took his lips off of Frances'. Releasing her slowly, he smiled lazily with his eyes heavy lidded as he stood up with her. Call him crazy but he had thoroughly enjoyed that, so she offered Frances his hand so they could walk past the round man and the rest of the people in the line as he said, “That was fun. We should go on the Ferris Wheel again sometime.” Clearly he was not talking about the ride, instead he was speaking of their kisses and enjoying being close to one another.

Looking into the blue eyes of the woman beside him, Tamas Ludwig Mauven knew that he wanted to be with her until they actually died. He wanted to be with her but he did not want to frighten her and make her think he was a crazy person so he did not say this and he said in a low voice, “Thanks.” But not to make her think that he was always such a sniveling child he added, “I promise you; only heights do that to me. I’m not always such a melodramatic person.” He grinned boyishly to Frannie, hoping she would understand that heights were truly his biggest fear and that only they turned him into that person. He hardly recognized himself as he thought back to what he had said on the Ferris Wheel but he still had Frances by his side so it could not be too bad, could it? Looking ahead of them, he matched his stride to hers and inquired, “What do you want to do next?” He wondered if she was impartial to candy floss because as they passed a stand he could feel himself want the sugary cloud dancing on his tongue. However, he did not care too much, he had just had something he had thought was a near-death experience and Frances was staying by him, he was on cloud nine and her preferences, which had been correct after all, did not cause any distress in him.

Recieving Tamas' hand Frances smiled and even let a laugh play on her lips as Tamas said he wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel again some time. Of course she knew he meant that the kissing was fun, and not the actual Ferris Wheel, but still she joked with him "Oh no, I'm not going through that again!" she exclaimed, though she had to agree that the thrill was rather exciting, and the near death experience she had shared with him had only made her realise how truly in love with him she was, and she wasn't going to forget it anytime soon. Not many would think that it had been the perfect date, but to Frances she felt like it truly was, and if their meeting was anything to go by they weren't exactly going to be a normal couple anyway. His boyish grin made her blush like a schoolgirl and really, she had to laugh, though she wouldn't have minded him being so melodramatic, it showed that he was real, something she hadn't seen in somebody for a long time, and she truly was enjoying his company more than anything. As they walked the length of the carnival Frannie had to ponder what she did want to do next, or whether her choosing what the next activity was, would be a good idea judging on her choice of the Ferris Wheel. Noticing Tamas eyeing the candy floss stall her eyes widened at the fluffy pink cloud that she hadn't indluldged in since she was a child, so turning to Tamas she winked and made her way over to the stall, pulling him along behind her.

Frances watched, entranced as she would have been as a young girl, as the stall owner spun the sugary sweet substance around a stick, forming a fluffy pink cloud and handing it to a small girl standing beside them. Frances could still remember clearly when her own daughters Riley and Kalani had been as small as the girl next to them, and right now Frannie felt just as young and innocent as her, despite her past. Tamas had a way of making her feel young again, and flashing a smile at the stall owner, the pretty blonde handed over some coins "One please" she said clearly as she waited for the treat to be made, and as it was handed over to her she held it inbetween her date and smiled almost cheekily, taking a bite, and with her eyes suggesting the more romantic option of sharing the candy floss Lady and the Tramp style, rather than having one each. It was getting darker and the stalls had begun to put on lamps to illuminate themselves, and around the tent which stood just behind the couple were fairy lights, like stars in the night, making the most perfect scenery as Frances and Tamas bit into the sugary treat.

Tamas chuckled as Frances objected to his offer and squeezed her hand lightly in his own before returning it to the loose, comfortable hold that they had on one another. “Hey, you seemed pretty scared too,” he said in an accusatory tone of voice, just teasing her and himself at the same time for the way they had both over reacted. It He had to be was easier to jest about your fears with other people instead of tell them that you were actually scared because it was a weakness and for a man weakness was not something that was allowed in social situations. He had to “be a man” but not only this he had to be a proud, pure blood male which meant that he was not allowed to go to things like the carnival he was currently walking through with Frances but he did not care for he was his own person and not his families expectations of him. He had not become like his dear sisters or brother, he was the ‘accepting’ of the Mauven siblings which often displeased his family but in his life he was happy, even if people had told him that owning many restaurants (muggle and wizarding) would not please him, he proved them wrong as he smiled down at the woman beside him.

As Tamas and Frances stood beside each other, he looked at the happy smile dancing on her lips. He followed her gaze momentarily and as some candy floss was put into her hands, he almost felt guilty because he was the owner of several successful, high end restaurants and here he was about to eat something that had questionable ingredients. Tamas knew that as he took a small piece between his fingers and looked down it, almost inspecting it that his chefs would wag their fingers at him and judge the lack of culinary excellence but he was with Frances and he had just been up high. He did not care what was to happen to him now, so he popped it into his mouth and looked over to Frances as he let the pink cloud melt in his mouth and swallowed before he said, “That certainly is an interesting food.” He bent down to kiss her cheek before he stood up straight and looked about them. It certainly was a lovely night to do this and as lights were put out and glowed through the night sky as it became darker he knew that, as corny as it was, he would remember this date forever. Tamas Ludwig was already in love with Frances and knew that someday that they would retell this to their own children and not just the ones that were already hers. He wanted her wonderful smile and beautiful face be one that he woke up beside every morning and he wanted her to fall head over heals just as he had for her over several intimate moments that they had together, from their original meeting, to the talks they had afterwards and to the current first date they were on.

Frannie wasn't used to being accused of anything other than being a bad mother by her own children for not buying them what they wanted or giving them sweets, but she knew how to play this one. There was no hiding that she was scared too, and Tamas had called her out on it, so she supposed she had to admit it. She was usually so competitive, yet for some reason she didn't mind giving in to Tamas. "Okay, so I was a little scared, what of it?" she said in an equally accusing tone, followed by a giggle, she really couldn't keep a straight face at a time like this. Frances loved that she was acting like her stupid childish self around Tamas, is was something she hadn't done in a while because of having to grow up so fast when she found out she was pregnant with the twins. But now that they were both in their last year at school, the timing felt right for Frances to start finding her own happiness and start up her life again after having it on hold for seventeen years. Not that she thought of Riley and Kalani as a burdon, she would never think that, she just took a different path on life, and now she was taking an entirely new one, and stepping into the unknown territory of dating once more. Which she was beginning to discover, was very different to what they called 'dating' back when she was a teenager.

A giggle escaped Frannie as Tamas remarked what interesting food Candy Floss was. "You've never had this before?" she exclaimed, poor Tamas certainly had been robbed of the delicious muggle treat, luckily she had come along and introduced him to it. Something she intended to do for the rest of her time with him, there was so many more things she had to introduce him to from the muggle world, and she hoped he had new things to teach her too. Frances wasn't completely satisfied with the little peck on the cheek from Tamas, and so she returned it with a kiss on his lips, and licking them afterwards, having the sweet taste of Candy Floss from them on her tongue once more. Looking across over Tamas' shoulder Frances noticed an elderly couple, holding hands and walking along the length of the carnival, past the tents they had walked past a mere few minutes before. Something about seeing them seemed to warm her heart and she noticed that her date was looking at them too. "Can you imagine us like that someday?" she said, half jokingly, as if to say that she didn't want to imagine ever getting so old. But really what she was saying, was that she could imagine spending the rest of her life with Tamas, even when he was old and crusty like that couple was. "They seem so in love." she added, as if she were speaking to herself, only a little louder.

Tamas looked down into France’s eyes and could not help but be extremely thankful that they had both been scared for no reason at all because they would not be able to poke fun at each other and act like children as they were. “Okay, just making sure that we were both only a little bit scared,” he said, with a grin that showed that he was poking fun at himself for having been so terrified when he really shouldn’t have been. However, his lack of knowledge of the muggle world kind of helped out with making his fear greater. But now they had their feet firmly planted on the ground as they walked together and he was feeling very happy for it and for the broken cash register that brought him and Frances down this interesting path that lead to their first date. The comical nature of their relationship to date was what made it interesting and although he had not gone on many dates he thought that this was the best one before and he had already been shaking in his boots from fear of death. It almost made him wonder what might be next and what fear he would reveal on the next one.

As Frances clarified if he had never had Candy Floss before he shrugged his broad shoulders and answered, “I think my chefs would have killed me.” He answered before adding with a jovial tone to his deep voice, “And you don’t want to tempt people who use knives like they are paintbrushes.” Tamas laughed, but it was partly true; his chefs were snobs with food which was very understandable considering their career path and at times he could be but eating the sugary thing with Frances made him not care what he was consuming. In fact, just being with Frannie made him not care what he was doing at all… well except being on the Ferris Wheel. Tamas couldn’t help but smile as their lips met in a quick peck although he wanted more he knew he could not, it was their first date and he wanted something more out of this. And as Frances brought up the elderly couple walking together contently, he felt that maybe she did too. The thirty-four year old did want a life with someone; he wanted to be able to say nothing at all and be comfortable in the silence and be just as comfortable in conversation. “Yes,” Tamas hummed softly as he looked back to Frannie knowing that even in her old age she would still have that spark in her that had dwindled in so many people their age. As Frances said that the elderly couple seemed so in love, he smiled and thought they looked more content than anything. It was as if they had married their best friend and were just happy to be around them. “I think that being content must be how marriages last. Not being so passionately in love that you can’t keep your hands off of each other because that fizzles out. But being satisfied hardly does,” he said to Frances before kissing the corner of her lips as if to tell her that he was as ease with her without actually saying it.

A chuckle escaped Frances once more, she and Tamas seemed to be having so much fun, she really didn't want the date to end, it felt so good to act like a child again, something the thirty four year old hadn't gotten to do since she had fallen pregnant with her daughters. "Only a little but that can be our little secret, right?" she didn't exactly want anybody finding out how weak she could be, despite the fact that she didn't mind being vulnerable around Tamas, she didn't want anybody else, especially her daughters to know what a baby she had acted like that night. She shouldn't have been so scared, afterall she had been on the Ferris Wheel many a time before, and her knowledge of muggles certainly should have kept her calm, but perhaps it was the fear that she could very well have lost one of the people that was becoming so important to her and to her life, now that really was something to be scared of. Frannie and Tamas sure were an interesting couple, if they could call themselves that just yet, Frannie certainly was going to consider Tamas her boyfriend after the ordeal they had just been through together.

"No, I can't imagine you would." Frances replied, feeling just a little odd that they seemed to be holding a somewhat normal conversation, something quite different to what she was used to with their rather unusual meetings. She knew Tamas owned restaurants, but she wasn't exactly sure of all of the details, which seemed to make her aware of how much they still had to learn about eachother, and how much fun they would have during the process. She had known right from the moment she had seen her date that he was the one for her, and she didn't want anyone else, she didn't even seem to care how cliche that sounded, or how impossible it seemed to be in love by the first date. Finally, all of Frannie's hardships seemed to have been worth it just so she could meet Tamas and be where she was right now. The way he spoke so philosophically about the couple she had pointed out, made her admire him even more, but really she had never been much of a philosopher and had no idea of anything else she could say, though she seemed to understand everything Tamas was saying, which was a welcome change from having to speak teenage girl with her daughters, she was quite enjoying having a proper adult conversation. The peck she recieved on the corner of her lips only sealed the deal for Frances, she knew exactly what she was going to say now, though she knew how childish it was going to sound, and she didn't seem to mind at all how fast the relationship was moving. "Will you be my boyfriend Tamas?" she asked in a timid voice, though she wasn't fearing him saying no.

Frances and Tamas were getting along like a house on fire and he was terribly happy of this because there was no point liking someone if you couldn’t have a conversation with them on more than just the weather. He was even more pleased that they were able to joke about the event on the ferris wheel and still like each other instead of Frannie being bemused with him and his slightly fear. “We’ll see,” he said with a sly glint in his sapphire eyes. Of course he was joking because he wasn’t going to publicize something she didn’t want to be and he wasn’t exactly proud of his own reaction to heights. What was curious, however, was why she had made the decision to go onto a Ferris Wheel when she reacted in such a way because he had not pushed her into going on it, in fact if he hadn’t been trying to act like he was fearless and fine with everything originally but he had not been able to keep his cool like he had attempted which probably got them closer to each other and if they had just gone on some other ride that did not make them speak as if they were experiencing what would be their last moments with each other and alive.

The pureblood man wondered how he could have gotten so lucky to have, all those years ago, adopted her daughter who’s love for literature had brought him to the muggle market two times and the second meeting the woman standing beside him. He knew that there were women interested him that came to his restaurants but this was so much better; he had found someone that Tamas actually found himself wanting to be closer with physically, emotionally and mentally. He wanted learn every bit of her personality and although he was not going to say this, he thought his kiss upon her lips would express this better. Tamas chuckled softly as Frannie asked him to be her boyfriend and it was not meant to tease her but he had never heard people their age ask to be boyfriend and girlfriend so when his laughter slowly subsided, he held both of her hands in his own. “You’re cute,” he said although he thought that it would be more appropriate to say what was on his mind which was the just how much he already loved her and that he already wanted to marry her but Tamas Mauven had not spoken those words as he looked into Frances’ eyes. “I’d love to,” he said, putting a palm of her check and grinning buoyantly at Frannie before he took his hands from her cheeks as he kissed her lips and hooked them around her hips so she could be close to him. This kiss was cut short when a pair of people walked by them and said in a whisper that was a little bit too loud, “It’s a little smutty for a carnival, isn’t it?” Tamas looked from the pair of friends back to Frannie before laughing in spite of himself as he rested comfortably tête-à-tête with his blonde girlfriend.

That little glint that Frances saw in Tamas' eyes was priceless, she knew that it was one that she would look forward to seeing everyday, because she did want to see him everyday. Like a schoolgirl she was already imagining waking up and his being the first face she saw in the morning and the last at night. Frannie hadn't been in a proper relationship since she was seventeen years old, and look how that had worked out for her. And by some miracle, the universe had aligned and now the most amazing, successful, sweet and loving man was standing before her, and he wanted her, not anybody else. It seemed to good to be true, but the fact was it was true, more true than anything she had known. Despite the fact that Tamas was amazing, it seemed even more amazing to the thirty four year old that he wanted her, knowing full well that he could have had almost any woman he wanted. Frannie was beginning to believe that Kalani had broken that cash register on purpose, to bring the two together, though in her head that still seemed a little far fetched.

It had taken almost all of Frannie's courage to ask Tamas out, and even though deep down in her heart she knew he would say yes, there was still that element of surprise that she never wanted to sneak up on her, you see she had been terrified of surprises ever since she had found out she was pregnant, and then when she had found out it was twins. Ever since then she hadn't been able to stand surprise parties, or even having the toast pop when she was least expecting it. But Tamas had gotten over his fear of heights, well, perhaps it was still there, but he had confronted it, and she knew that with his help she would one day confront hers. When he looked into her eyes, and she into his, she didn't immediately hear the one word she wanted to hear 'You're cute' seemed like he was buttering her up before letting her down, and something turned in her stomach, a feeling she certainly hadn't wanted to feel. But shortly after something else followed, and Frances could have sworn she saw fireworks light up as her lips collided with her boyfriend's. She would have to get used to saying that again. Smiling with her lips upon Tamas' she laughed a little at the comment they had been thrown, perhaps it was time they left, the boyfriend and girlfriend's relationship was getting past the G rated carnival that was going on around them. With her forehead still resting upon his, Frannie smiled "Bags not telling the twins. she said jokingly, before pecking him on the lips playfully.

While many men would be off-put that Frances had children, Tamas did not mind in the least. They seemed well behaved and polite and everybody had made their mistakes in youth. What was commendable was how well that the woman had dealt with her mistake at an age he would only guess to be seventeen or eighteen at least, if his math and estimation had not quickly disappeared. However, there was the one of Frannie’s daughter’s. She worried him because he was a male and it was a well known fact that they did not understand the teenage girl’s mind and when one seemed to be flirting with you and you were twice their age it made that man extremely uncomfortable. So her joke did not sit right with the man, he actually became anxious at the thought of this daughter knowing. He wasn’t scared of a child but he did know that Frannie would probably care what her daughters thought of him and if one suddenly decided that he couldn’t be trusted or liked she would probably leave him and he was starting to fall in love already. He knew it was painfully cliché and trite but this was the way he felt and to have it snatched away because of some school-girl crush would be very hard for the man who had never been lucky in love. “I don’t think so,” he said pecking her lips once more, returning the playful tune but being serious in his words. Tamas would have no problem telling them together but on his own would be very difficult for the man because he was never good in social situations. Especially conditions as delicate as these. Because he was a polite man he had never inquired what happened to the father of her twins which meant he did not know if he was being compared to someone who was almost always win as he was their father. That said, as a child he would have loved to have a step father because his own scared him. But his dear mother, Csilla, had been murdered by Nikolai just as one would expect to happen in a family full of feuds and death eaters. And yet, she had birthed him many children and even appeared to love him which always confused him ad still did. It was rather tragic for the woman but he did not mourn long for her because it had always been inevitable. Just as it was that his little sister, Rosaline, would have her first husband killed for being a muggle but looking into the eyes of Frances he knew that this would not be the fate of her. Tamas kissed Frances once more before he said, “Did your daughter break your till on purpose?” It was only a speculation and he was mostly joking but either way he was thankful for Kalani and faulty cash registers because it brought the new couple together and it brought him to feel love for someone which was something he had never experienced before.
