Open Busy Nights

Eugene walked into the great hall, he had had a good day, he’d gotten far too many roses in his opinion, but anything more than one was too many in his opinion, but it was nice to know he was likely by people. The hufflepuff had arrived early to the dance and had been working away as the hall had filled up. He had spotted some folks from his year group dancing in pairs and Eugene hoped that Charlie was having a good valentines. He hadn’t seen the boy much today, but knew that he’d been crushing on someone new and he didn’t want that to go too badly. Eugene had faith in his friend, but worried he was often taking matters of the heart too seriously. Eugene himself hadn’t given much thought to such things, and while he was working there was absolutely no time for it.​

Cameron didn't think he'd been more grateful for being part of Accio than he was on a night like tonight. He didn't want to be one of the only people in his year not going to the school dance, but everything here was so... Pink. It felt a lot better being able to hide behind his camera, even if he was really only here to support the other photographers as he learnt the ropes.

He'd escaped the crush of the dancefloor after getting blind sided by some pink confetti, still brushing it sourly from his hair when he spotted Eugene looking out across the hall, wondering if he felt the same way. "Good excuse to not have to dance, right?" He said, raising up his own camera in explanation.

Eugene finished adjusting the shot that he was trying to take. He took the picture and as he lowered the camera, he spotted Cameron come in next to him. Admittedly he didn't really know the boy that well, they worked together in Accio but Eugene hadn't yet actually had a conversation with him outside of it. He gave a little nod, "I do like dancing...but it is easier to be behind a camera," he agreed, he always felt out of place at the events because he didn't have a proper suit, was always a little scruffier. "How are you finding it?" he asked the younger boy, given that Eugene was going to need to lead the club he did also have to start acting like a leader. ​

Cameron scrunched up his face when Eugene said he liked dancing, hiding the expression behind a shrug. He guessed Eugene was the sort of outgoing type who would like that sort of stuff where as the idea of moving around in front of half the school to some dumb music made Cameron want to eat his camera. "It's alright I guess," he said in response to Eugene's question, thumbing idly at his camera's lens cap and frowning when his hand came away with more pink glitter. "Feel like I've taken enough photos of heart-shaped cupcakes to last a life time," he added dourly. "Do they do this Valentine's stuff every single year? With the dresses and the decorations and- And the glitter?" He asked, scrunching up his face again.
