It was Ivys second last ball. and she was a bit disapointed she wasnt going with anyone. it had always seemed so romantic to go to the ball with a date. to hold their hand, to dance with them and to kiss under the mistletoe. but once again she was going alone. She knew a highschool romance was not likely to end up as a forever partner but she had grown up on those stories of school. dances and school romances. her mum and dad were dating by christmas of her mums sixth year, her big sister had been proposed to at her sixth year ball, even though she had said no it sounded romantic. and by sixth year lin was on his second, or was it third, boyfriend.
the dress ivy wore tonight was simple but it fit her in a way that worked well with her shape. She had also tried to straighten her hair whcih while she doubted she would ever get straight it looked more like elegant waves than her usual red ringlets. she circled the hall and get a drink before leaning against the wall and watching the dance floor.
