Alyssa didn't really know what put her to actually go into the old Antiquated Lavatory that was still in the school since it was disgusting as ever in here. But she knew that pretty much no one came in here so it could be a good place to be alone and unbothered. The past few days had been so rough on her that she didn't really no what else to do other than sulk in privacy because she was so afraid to tell her friends. 'Not that they'd understand anyways.' No matter how much she spoke to them about it or they seemed to feel for her she knew that they'd never really understand how she felt about being a Veela. The blonde walked further into the Lavatory, her flats making light shifting sounds with every small step she took. Eventually she got tired of walking around because there was really nothing for her to see and leaned against one of the cold stone walls tiredly. Her thoughts went back to the Brightstone weekend for a moment before a wry smile formed on her face. The one part about it that was enjoyable was her being able to spend time with her boyfriend Vincent. Thanks to her being in school and him being an Auror they didn't get a lot of time to see one another when it wasn't the Holidays so they had taken advantage of the time they had off. The two of them had walked around Brightstone, shopped a little, ate at the Three Broomsticks, and course a nice make-out session that just seemed to get better and better over time. God did she love him though. He was the one person in her life that made her feel okay to be Part-Veela and different from everyone else. In fact he seemed to be attracted to it, it was odd to Alyssa but at the same time endearing that he wasn't afraid of her or anything. It was the way he treated her that made her wand to be with him forever too, well she thought she did anyways. Alyssa was only seventeen and knew that all she wanted in her life was a successful career, a family, and maybe a pet or two.

One thing she wanted to stop doing was trying to be perfect to everyone. Alyssa was pretty, tall, rich, a good student, and just someone that everyone assumed was nothing more than a snobby brat. A majority of them probably didn't know that she was Half-Veela either. They didn't know how hard it was for her to try and fit in everyday. But really, did many of them even care either? When Alyssa heard the noise of someone coming she perked herself up a little but still continued to lean against the wall of the Lavatory. Who else would be weird enough to come in here?

With it now being Autumn at Hogwarts New Zealand this Prefect had opted to do her usual rounds of the castle grounds today in her normal clothes with her Prefect badge gleaming proudly on her chest. Patricia didn’t mind doing her rounds, it was just one of the many tasks that she had to do as Prefect but she found them somewhat enjoyable as it gave her time to think about things that had been weighing on her mind as of late and was an excuse to be out in the cold, crisp air without been thought to be strange to have a walk around in the colder weather. Matter of the fact was that Patricia was more than used to the cold weather as when she was growing up in Northern Ireland she very rarely had a summer as even those days which were meant to be warm, sunny and glorious – were cold, wet and dull. So even the colder days here was even warmer than that of her childhood although she was starting to get used to the climate here in New Zealand, what with living her almost all year round now, it was expected. Coming in from outside she made her way up the marble staircase and a number of moving staircases to fifth floor where she was to finish her patrolling for the day and go back to her studying. It was hard to believe that it was almost the end of her sixth year at Hogwarts. That was one of the things that had been weighing down on her mind. She knew that it was a silly thing to constantly think over but she couldn’t help but think how her time at Hogwarts was going to be coming to an end soon, she didn’t want it too – she loved it here.

As the same old thoughts continued to spiral around in her head she became distracted by a little first year who seemed to be in a panic about something. Approaching the young girl she asked what the problem was and found out that she had lost her pet bunny while she was taking it out for a walk. Agreeing to help the girl search for it Patricia took the girls name and house along with the description of the bunny so she could come find the girl if she ever found it. Leaving the girl to go search elsewhere Patricia checked everywhere in the fifth floor corridor, in the classrooms, closets, the Hogwarts Monthly Office. So far she had no luck. Making her way up to the end of the corridor she entered the old Antiquated Lavatory, somewhere Patricia never really set foot in for the fact that it was a little creepy. Walking on in she was surprised to see that there was someone else in there. “Oh Alyssa!” she said in surprise as she recognised who it was. Patricia knew Alyssa well, not overly well, but they had been in the same classes since first year so well enough. Patricia knew Alyssa well enough to know she cared about her appearance and never imagined that the Antiquated Lavatory would be somewhere she would go to a lot. “What are you doing here?” she asked out of genuine curiously.

Despite the fact that she knew someone was coming to the Lavatory Alyssa still jumped backwards and let out a little squeak when she saw the person finally come into her sight. "Whoa Patricia, you scared me." She placed a pale hand over her heart and tried to regain her nerves. She had no idea what Patricia was doing in here either but figured it was not really any of her business either. Once she felt she was okay and her nerves were all well and settled she removed herself from the wall and quickly made sure to rub off any dust that was or may had settled there while she was lounging about. The blonde really had to reason to worry or be upset that it was Patricia who had came into room because the Hufflepuff girl had always been a little on the sweet side and had never really ever been mean or rude to Alyssa, granted their run in during their first year but the two of them had made up and long since forgotten so as far as she concerned they were on completely good terms with one another. Biting her glossed lip light she glanced at Patricia with her crystal blue eyes. "I'm not in trouble for being in here am I?" Alyssa asked worriedly in her light French accent, she did not want to get in trouble got being in here on accident when she wasn't allowed to. There was no sign saying that no one was not supposed to be in here so she was hoping it was okay. Then again what kind of weirdo would try to cause trouble in here? A small snort escaped Alyssa before she returned her gaze back to Patricia.

"To be honest I kind of came in here to just well...sulk." Alyssa muttered slowly, almost as if she were embarrassed to admit it to anyone but her boyfriend Vincent. He was the one person she trusted with her secrets or her most private thoughts these days. He was the only once she ever told about how much she hated being herself at times, she hated being a Veela because she wasn't normal, she wasn't human, and she was most definitely not perfect. Glancing at Patricia she wondered what the girl would have to say to that? One thing Alyssa was known for was seeming to be perfectly happy with her life. What would people think if they knew she wasn't? It really shows how much people tried to get to know her and her friends, Alyssa just liked to look nice. All the names and rumors were started by everyone else.

Patricia took a few steps more into the bathroom so she could see Alyssa fully, the lighting was the best in this place so it took a few moments for the girl’s eyes to adjust to it just right. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to.” Patricia apologized softly to Alyssa. It most definitely hadn’t been her intention to frighten anyone that may have been in here. As waited for Alyssa to calm down slightly she looked around the abandoned bathroom, the Hufflepuff found it no surprise as to why it was abandoned, it was a complete and utter tip, very unhygienic for a bathroom – she was surprised that it hadn’t been cleaned up and put back into proper use; it couldn’t be that hard with magic after all. She shrugged the idea away though when she got knocked of her train of thought by Alyssa’s voice. Confused for a moment at the question Patricia came to and answered, “Oh no, not at all.” A soft, reassuring smile finding her lips. Truth be told Patricia didn’t even know if this place was actually out of bounds, the only it would be would be due to how unclean it was; it was breaking a rule – the rule of being unhygienic. Even if it was against the rules Patricia wouldn’t have done anything to anyone but above all not Alyssa. Patricia had nothing against the Slytherin, she rarely did have ill feelings towards other people but she and Alyssa were on relatively good terms (or so she liked to think) regardless of what may have happened in the past as that it was all long forgotten by now. At least she hoped that Alyssa had forgotten about it because it really was a silly thing that had happened in the past and they were first years after all, they had all done some growing up by now; even Theodore had which was something that surprised Patricia a bit more than it probably should have.

Patricia frowned at Alyssa reasoning as to coming up to Antiquated Lavatory (however it got that name Patricia would never know, it was actually kind of stupid but she was digressing). As far as Patricia could tell Alyssa had never been one to be down in the dumps and sulk. Then again she was a teenager, and a girl at that so that just gave her double the reason to be allowed to sulk every once in a while, everyone went through it – Patricia included but she had gotten the worst of it over her during the summer before her fifth year and the majority of her fifth year – bad times that Patricia had long since gotten over and preferred never to go back there again. “Do you want to talk about it?” Patricia asked in a soft voice, always willing to be an ear to someone, especially people she counted as friends.

Alyssa became immediately relaxed her body and her face when Patricia announced that she wasn't going to get into trouble for being in here without supervision or anything. This was so beyond good news because Alyssa didn't really feel like dealing with an angry Head of House. She had never gotten a detention in her Six years of attending Hogwarts and she was looking to getting one in her remaining years at the school. Theodore often called her the goody-goody of the family but now that she looked at it he really had no room to talk anymore, he was a Prefect and had greatly improved the way he's been acting so he seemed like he was just as bad she was. 'I hardly see how he's getting all this attention and acknowledgement.' She rolled her crystal blue eyes at her own thoughts on her twin. It used to be her always getting the attention and all the praise for being the best out of her siblings. Somehow her brother snuck up and start to get all the attention and now she was having a hard time getting it back. Especially when she was having trouble keeping her confidence up to the level she needed it to be at. Alyssa shifted around uncomfortably before she moved further away from the wall she had been leaning on and closer to the Hufflepuff Prefect who seemed to being more life into the room then there was before. Maybe it was just because someone was willing to be kind and look past the fact that everyone seemed to hate the pretty girl secretly. Alyssa knew that if only she could be like her brother it would be so much easier because he just didn't care at all what people thought about him. The only thing she really saw him pay attention to was Aleyha and making sure that people kept out of his hair when he was in a bad mood. Alyssa deciding that it was just best to forget about her brother, she couldn't please everyone and she had a lot of other things to worry about right now.

"Well I'd like to but- Well I'm no so sure you'd really understand." Alyssa before she used one of her hands to brush some of her blonde hair away from her face and look at Patricia more easily. She knew that no matter how much some people wanted to help her or give her advice in the end they just didn't know what it was really like to be like her. And sometimes even others like her still didn't know how it felt, like Theodore and Damian who could love worry free knowing that they won't turn into a bird. What was the point of being beautiful if you hated yourself and could potentially be considered a monster by others. "I don't want to seem like nothing more than a whiny little rich girl...if that makes any sense to you." Alyssa muttered in her light French accent before she snorted at her last statement to the girl. In a way she almost insulted herself by calling herself a whiny little rich girl. Alyssa was normally a happy bubbly girl that tried really hard at everything she did, but sometimes her mood just wasn't going to allow her to be happy like she wanted. Recently the only person that had been able to bring that side out easily was Vincent and sometimes Hadan.

Patricia could feel her eyes starting to adjust to the new surroundings of the bathroom. Patricia walked into the bathroom a bit more so she could make out Alyssa as best as she could, turning on the spot Patricia leaned against one of the sinks and watched the Slytherin girl carefully. Patricia wasn’t sure what was up with Alyssa, she seemed genuinely worried when she saw Patricia coming in and now seemed more relaxed that she knew she wouldn’t be getting into trouble. Then again Patricia supposed that she didn’t like getting into trouble, much like Patricia and after six years it would kind of suck to get into trouble now. Also having her dad as a Head of House, Patricia didn’t blame Alyssa for not wanting to have to visit the man. Patricia found it strange, yet funny, that Alyssa’s Head of House was Patricia’s dad and Patricia’s Head of House was Alyssa’s Aunt; it was a small World for sure. Patricia thought it was weird for anyone to have a relative teach or work in the school and she knew this from firsthand experience. Patricia remained quiet as Alyssa moved around a bit, there was something wrong and Patricia could sense it. Patricia and Alyssa were far from best friends and they did have their ups and downs in the past but that was long since forgotten about and Patricia knew Alyssa well enough to know that something was up but she couldn’t tell what it was.

Patricia waited for Alyssa to break the silence by answering her question. She was worried about the Slytherin girl as it had to be something pretty bad to make someone who was usually so happy and bubbly to become this down in the dumps. The Hufflepuff Prefect frowned her eyebrows when Alyssa said that she probably wouldn’t understand. Patricia wasn’t going to argue with that, she had gone through some crap in her life but there was so much more out there that she had yet to experience, that she hoped she would never have to experience. Patricia looked into Alyssa’s face as the girl moved some hair out of her face so Patricia could see her properly now. Listening to her words Patricia became confused. Sure Alyssa may be rich but what sort of problems could that cause her. Sure Alyssa may always look like perfection and wear the best clothes but she never acted like the spolit little rich girl who cried at a broken nail type thing. “I may not understand but I can listen. Holding in anything is never good and it helps to just say it out loud and get it off your chest.” Patricia suggested softly. It was almost like crying, when your sad about anything just having a good cry always seemed to help even just a bit.

Alyssa couldn't help but wonder if Patricia had any motive for wanting to her her out so badly, she said it was good to get everything out and off her chest. Normally she wasn't afraid to blabber off to anyone but these days there was very few she could trust with this. The Hufflepuff that was standing before her though seemed nice enough not to run her mouth and completely ruin Alyssa's life for all that it was worth. A small sigh escaped Alyssa as her thin fingers came up to brush some of her platinum blonde hair out of her face. "Well I'll tell you as long as you promise not to run around telling everyone." She wasn't sure if she knew about her being different or not. It wasn't something that she told everyone so very few people knew about it. If more people knew about it they would probably treat her far different than she already was by some. The bird jokes were probably the worst part because really she didn't like that she could turn into one, it was actually quite scary to think about actually. If the jokes persisted she knew one day that she'd absolute love to shoot some fire at one of their heads. Alyssa was certainly tired of being little miss Sunshine all the time to only find herself getting crushed or walked all over in the end. Alyssa shifted away from the wall and gracefully made her way over to Patricia. Just in case someone else was around she didn't want to say it really loudly or anything. The closer she got to Patricia the quicker she noticed a bit more of Patricia's appearance. She was far better looking than most people gave her credit for, hmph who would have thought? Bringing her flawless face just that much closer she was pretty much standing side by side with Pat now.

"Well..I'm Half-Veela..." Alyssa started off softly, her beautiful French accent coating her words perfectly. This is probably going to be the one thing that she either got a weird look for, insulted, or just silence for. People had all a lot of different thoughts about Veela's and Half-breeds. Hopefully Patricia wasn't another one of prejudice people. She didn't seem like it but one could never really tell. Most people thought that Alyssa was too beautiful and angelic looking to have a temper, but oh she did. "And I've never really told anyone this but my boyfriend but..I'm afraid a lot of people don't really like me for me. And there's even a lot of people out there that hate people like me. It just...makes me feel kind of unwanted at times." Alyssa admitted quietly as she shifted from foot to foot almost uncomfortably. Her flats sifted against the ground as she did so. Now it was sort of like the moment of truth to her. Would Patricia also shun her or would she be like Vincent and try to Comfort her. Sometimes the blonde couldn't help but wonder if even Hadan thought that she was a freak, she knew some of the Glam Squad members themselves did.

As a sigh escaped Alyssa’s lips Patricia couldn’t help but frown slightly, whatever it was that was getting at Alyssa it must be pretty serious to be getting her this down, Patricia had never seen the Slytherin this upset before. Patricia was beginning to think that maybe she shouldn’t make Alyssa say anything about what was getting her down, it seemed to be upsetting her and while in some cases it was always good to get things off your chest and whatnot sometimes people just needed to think things over in their head and let them run their own course. Patricia had been in some situations herself where she just wanted to be alone, somewhere quiet and contemplate her own thoughts; maybe this was one of those times for Alyssa and Patricia was butting in where she wasn’t needed or wanted for that matter. When Alyssa told her that she would tell Patricia just as long as she wouldn’t go running around telling everyone what the problem was, Patricia nodded her head. “I promise.” She said to reassure the girl. Patricia was never one to go around telling anyone’s secrets that they had told her in confidence. Some would argue that it was the Hufflepuff in her and that maybe the case but Patricia thought of it more as the decent human being in her; it wasn’t a very nice thing to go around spread people’s secrets when they weren’t yours to spread in the first place. Patricia straightened up a bit more when she saw Alyssa walking over to closer to her. She wondered what could be so bad that had gotten Alyssa down so much, she hoped it wasn’t anything too serious because while Patricia didn’t mind people telling her their secrets she had a strong believe that if it was anything serious that people should be made aware of it to help the person out, but she doubted that this was one of those times as they rarely happened – thankfully.

Patricia shifted slightly so she could face Alyssa who was now beside her. Although Patricia was surprised at what Alyssa had to reveal to her. She was Half-Veela? Patricia had heard of a few part veela’s in the school but she could never tell who was actually one because Patricia wasn’t one to notice the beauty of anyone, sure some were prettier than others but that didn’t always necessarily mean they had veela blood in them. Having previously studied Veelas and part veelas in Care of Magical Creatures a few years ago, before Patricia dropped it, she knew a few things but not an awful. She knew they seemed the like perfectly natural human beings except with great beauty beyond compare and when they produced with witches and wizards the blood was passed on and decreased more and more on down the line and so did their powers of turning into a bird for example; something she had certainly never seen Alyssa do. Patricia pulled herself out of her thoughts to hear Alyssa’s concern. The Hufflepuff’s heart went out to the girl, Patricia couldn’t even begin to imagine what Alyssa must go through day to day, and it must be so hard for her. “Oh Alyssa, I’m so sorry.” she said with a sympathetic tone of voice. “Well you certainly unwanted. Look at your friends and your boyfriend and your family surely; you are loved for sure.” she said, not sure how get her words out so she just went with it. “What makes you think people don’t like you for you?” she asked with a grimance.
