Sapphire still felt she had better places to be. But Onyx had bribed her down here. With a simple costume and a weapon to hit her brother with, she entered the great hall. She noticed his Majesty right away. She shoved Onyx playfully. "Go find Waldo." She smirked before wandering off alone. She found a drink easily enough. She leaned against the wall, watching the other students and wondering why she'd bothered.

Alice was happy to be at the Halloween feast. She had enjoyed herself last year, but had the feeling this year would be even better! She had gotten Phoebe to dress up in a Disney costume with her, but hadn't been surprised when the girl had wandered off to meet with her girlfriend. Alice didn't mind, she was still kind of proud of herself for setting her sister up with Emily's sister. It had gone just as she wanted! Now she was looking for her friends, happily moving through the beautifully decorated hall. She stopped when she noticed a girl in a cool costume with a guitar, it looked vaguely familiar, as did the girl. Alice smiled as she headed over, figuring it was about time she was introduced to Sapphire. "Hi! You're Sapphire, right? Diana's friend, and also Ava's! I'm Alice, Diana's sister." She said brightly, happy to see someone she knew, even if she didn't know her personally yet.

Sapphire raised her brow as a strange girl approached. She seemed familiar, but it was hard to tell with the costume. It clicked quickly as she introduced herself. She held out the fake guitar in front of her as a shield. "Ava's friend, hm? You aren't gonna try for one of her tackle hugs are you?" She asked warily. She couldn't really base her behavior on that of her sisters. Every Holland had seemed vastly different from the last so all Sapph had to go off of was Ava's friendship with her. Though that might not be accurate either, based on Ava's apparent friendship with Sapphire. She'd been against it at first but had surrendered when she couldn't shake the bubbly little troll.

Alice was surprised when the girl appeared to shield herself from Alice, but her question made it more clear and Alice giggled and shook her head. She had wondered what sort of person Sapphire was, if she could be friends with both Ava and Diana. The two girls couldn't be more opposite, but maybe it made sense. in a way. Alice tilted her head slightly and smiled. "I wasn't planning on it, but if you really want I could try." She teased slightly, but then she shook her head. "Let's leave that to Ava, I don't want to ruin your costume." She said with a smile. "It's very nice."

Sapphire let out a small sigh of relief and lowered the guitar. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. Diana talks about you, as does Ava. I've heard a bit. Hufflepuff, right?" She smiled, leaning her fake guitar against the wall and taking a sip of her drink. "I might be able to spot Peter Pan if we look around enough." She teased lightly. She had always liked that story.

Alice smiled at the older girl, nodding. "Yes, I'm a Hufflepuff. I hope Diana doesn't complain about me too much." She joked, knowing her sister wasn't likely to be showering her with compliments while talking to her friends. "I know you're a Slytherin, and I know Ava thinks you're really cool." She added with a shrug. The idea of finding someone dressed like Peter Pan made Alice grin, and she looked around hopefully. "Accidentally matching with someone would be so funny! I made my sister dress up as someone from Disney too, but she's talking to her girlfriend." She said, gesturing vaguely to where Phoebe was talking to Charlie. "Did you come here alone?" She asked, turning her attention back to the girl.

Sapphire smiled at the youngest Holland. "Nah," She reassured her as she took a sip of her drink again. Sapph rolled her eyes playfully at Alice's words. "Save her from a group of morons one time and she attaches herself like a bright button." She complained half-heartedly. "You like Disney?" She asked conversationally. "I always liked Treasure Planet myself." She grinned at the thought of it. It was one of the best ones she'd seen.

Alice wasn't sure if Sapphire was telling the truth, but decided to take it. She knew Diana often said things she didn't mean, but that didn't make them fun. Alice's eyebrows raised a little. "Wait, what did you do?" She asked, frowning. "Were people bothering Ava? Here at school? Do you know who?" Alice was protective of her friends, and she also hated bullies with a passion. If there was anything she could do to stop it from happening more, she would. She nodded at the question about Disney, but tilted her head at the one Sapphire mentioned. "I don't think I've seen that one. Just a few of them." She said honestly. "But I always liked them a lot. Especially the ones with princesses."

Sapphire laughed. "No, not here. I'd have put an end to that. When Ava's mum passed she was dropped at the Home for a few months while people looked for her dad. Couple morons took her for an easy target. I got involved. Haven't been able to shake her since she started school." Sapph shrugged.

She grinned as Alice said she hadn't seen it. "Sorry, no princesses. Just space pirates and stars." She sighed happily at the thought. "It's pure adventure and excitement. No romance." She scrunched her nose before taking another sip. "I never really cared for the damsel in distress stories."

Alice was glad to hear it hadn't happened at Hogwarts, but her eyes widened a little as Sapphire said some information she hadn't known. She had heard Ava talk about her dad a lot, but never heard her mention her mother. She had never really questioned it, but Sapphire's story made a lot of sense. She felt sad for her friend, and also a bit ashamed for not knowing this about someone she cared so much about. "I see." She said, looking hesitant. "But you don't really want to shake her, do you? I'm sure if you really tried, you could have." Alice had the feeling Sapphire was trying to appear to care less than she did.

"That still sounds cool!" She said as Sapphire described the movie for her. "I like adventure and excitement as well." She said, though she didn't mind a bit of romance now and then. "I like it best when the damsels are the ones that get themselves out of the distress, honestly. But everyone needs help sometimes, right?" She didn't see anything wrong with being rescued if you couldn't escape on your own.
