Kimmara Axel Breathed in deeply the cold night air as she stood outside of her own party. She was waiting for her father to walk her in and present her as an adult model - finally old enough to have her contract rewritten, to do more risque modeling jobs, to work harder. Her parents thought she was silly for wanting to be a writing - when she'd said she wanted to be a journalist in the magic world they simply told her that writing positions were for girls not pretty enough to Model. The blonde gave her coat to the woman standing outside of the door, whom was greeting guests. Everyone was waiting for her to walk in, and go up to that microphone and talk about how happy she is to join the world as an adult super model. Eighteen in the Americas was so important after all. Kimmara didn't think it was such a big deal, in the wizarding world she'd be allowed to apparate had she passed, and she was allowed to love who she wanted such as Killua - a man who'd never love her back. She'd discovered that the hard way. The petite adult turned her eyes toward the ground, an arm around her shoulder telling her she had no time to grieve for her mistakes, or even talk about them. On her left was her father, her mother on her right - neither of them speaking. Silas was already inside, she knew, he was waiting by the microphone to encourage her to speak.

The doors in front of Kimmara opened, and with perfect cadence in time to everyone singing Happy Birthday, she walked in. Wondering to herself as she plastered her face with a pearly smile, she thought of a normal birthday. Like the day she'd spent with Abel. Just a small party with friends and little gifts. It was something she'd always wanted - but could never have. Finally up the stairs and onto the dance floor that was raised away from the refreshments where people had been mingling, Kimmara was walked to a microphone. A woman beside her smiled and hugged her, saying happy birthday, and allowed her a speech. "Th-thank you a-a... all." She spoke slowly, stuttering through her chapped lips, her chest quivering slightly. In her gown she felt chilled - couldn't she just leave? They wouldn't notice. "It... me-means so much t-to me." Then there were applause. Silas escorted her offstage, she would be allowed to open her gifts later, and for now she was free to mingle. Kimmy, however, chose an easier route. Winding through the back of the building she made her way to the far side of the building where less people were. She grabbed a water from a waiter walking around, and took a few slow breaths. "C-can't I just stay little?" She asked herself, looking at her own reflection in the water glass.

Ainsley smiled brightly as he fluttered about the room. The day was about the young model, Kimmara Axel, becoming an adult - celebrating her birthday. A joyous event for all involved, he was sure, but when it all came down to it, he had a job, and his arse was being ridden for a scoop. His boss wasn't a kind man, and he was very far down the ladder of authority to do anything but his boss' wishes. And so, dressed in a nice suit and looking his best, the young wizard blending in with the crowd of onlookers as the girl gave her speech. It really wasn't much, but she was a model, he wasn't expecting too much eloquence. He took detailed notes of the events, descriptions and names, before leaving off to find a nice place to light up.

To his surprise, the blonde had found herself in an equally secretive spot. Really, it was the best place for hiding, hence why he himself had been drawn there. Unlit cigarette between his fingers, he approached and leant against the rail, looking back at the party within. At a respectful distance, he turned his face to look at her, eyebrow risen. He had caught her words, but had nothing to say to them. "You don't look all that excited for the festivities," he commented, Scottish accent lacing his words. "You seemed scared, you okay?"

Kimmara was not always the most aware person, and thus when a man came to stand by her side she'd not even noticed. She was too preoccupied with the party, watching the way people moved. It wasn't until a thick Scottish accent floated to her ears that Kimmara turned, startled, to face the man. Damn - she'd been discovered. However the man was not urging her to go into the crowd and mingle with her stuttering sentences, and for that she was thankful.

She turned thinking it only polite to speak. "I-I'm not go-good at p-parties." She stuttered over the sound of the acoustic song that was now playing at the party. "D-debating o-on going out-s-side. No one w-would notice." She muttered.
